- The plaintiff met the defendant at work. He let the defendant move in with him, but the plaintiff claims the defendant stole his property when she moved out, so he’s suing. The defendant argues she turned down the plaintiff’s advances. She’s countersuing for an unreturned security deposit and the value of a grill.

If anything, the voicemail should have worked in the plaintiff’s favor. Judge Mathis has selective hearing.

Much like the NBA or NFL does after making a call and realizing later on that it was wrong, I'm sure the judge will agree that he made the wrong ruling after going back and watching the tape. 😂

One thing about judge Judy, emotions never cloud her judgement. Judge Mathis is so short and quick to react. Regardless of how he felt, the evidence did show that she had his things, he should have been reinbursed

That's how lawyers trick you. The plaintiff answered Judge Mathis question as to why didn't he contact her for 25 days ? Of which he answered because I didn't have her number. The next question should have been ,how did you reach her after 25 days? at which he would have said I found her number in an old phone. In my opinion judge Mathis is extremely hard on men( who are ALWAYS doing the most lol) and tends to lean in the woman's favor.

I think judge Mathis was wrong in this case. I don’t know if he has selective hearing sometimes, which it probably is the case, but he wasn’t able to reach her for 25 days because he didn’t have her information. It wasn’t until he found one of his old phones, that he probably had to charge and look it up and found her information and that happened to be 25 days later And since it was operable, he was able to leave the message saying that he wanted his TV and his things back. So that message definitely worked in his favor because she clearly stole his stuff.
And yeah, when he has selective hearing like that and talks over you, and that’s not the case, all you can do is look at your friend and kinda laugh and say wow that was not right. Because it wasn’t. Judge Mathis that was not right.
