And to be precise It does have an effect after longer use... You can notice them for example on Dylanna Okyl, who went insane from it.
@@m3divh Tosh is also crazy from Terrazine, in the novel he’s been huffing and puffing it without Jorian which caused him to suffer permanent bad side effects from it, since ever since then he’s been talking to his dead grandmother, and addicted to the drug.
It's funny that Tosh was listening in on the encrypted line and everyone knew it, but then as soon as they disconnect the call, Nova reveals her plan and sends tactical data over the same compromised line.

GoGoGadget I do remember at least one mission in the Brood War campaign based entirely on the premise of surprising the enemy. You have 15 minutes or so to destroy either a protoss base or terran base before they are able to react. In any case, knowing you're in combat is different from knowing your enemy's plan.

the first time i did this, I only went with Nova for Ghost units cuz of only knowing them from nostalgia from the first Starcraft. part of me didnt wanna bother learning what Spectres can do differently from Ghost.
After I learn Tosh was really the good guy in this, I felt like a damn fool. Bugged me more than siding with Nova didnt do a damn thing with HotS story too other than change voice lines.

If you help Tosh, Tosh isn't a bad guy. If you go again Tosh, Tosh is completely fucking crazy.
The decisions in this game all end with Jim having taken the correct path. They ultimately make no difference to the narrative so I don't know what fantasy world you're living in where what I said 'isn't true'.

The colonists are a little bit murkier. But I think you could argue that with raynor protecting them they held off getting infested where as if raynor gives up on them they got overtaken straight away.

The point is that your decisions are correct no matter what in the game. Colonists don't get infected if you protect them. If you don't protect them from the protoss, they get infected. The Tosh decision is the same. Raynor makes no bad choices because at the end of the day whoever he was fucking needed to be fucked.

I wish that we got more comedic scenes like this in the future campaigns. Really I wish that the level of writing in Wings of Liberty or overall production quality were found in later campaigns, but I guess less resources are put into an expansion vs. the campaign that was going to introude a sequel of a beloved game to a dedicated fanbase

Alpha Blashyrkh well, i learned recently that if you keep doctor hanson until that mission and talk to her after it, she says that spectres are no more prone to psychosis than an average person.

Though Hanson is working on pure theory. Which means that they're is some possiblity for error. Especially in unknown fields such as Amon.
Möbius Corp wasn't sort on spectres and Terrazine is a direct link to Amon. Perhaps the process inadvertently turned them to puppets of Amon or sleeper agents, if that's the case then they should be locked up.

Depending of your choice u can train Ghost or Spectres in Legacy of Void Epilogue missions. So they didn't go anywhere....

Idk if there is a true canon with any of these choice missions, but Tosh was 100% a bro and Nova's bit about spectres was propaganda. The other choice I remember is saving the infested colonists, those guys should be fucked and one person magically finding a cure in a tiny lab at the last moment is dumb.

To this day I still consider Wings of Liberty to be Blizzard's best RTS campaign. Gameplay wise this campaign had a lot of unique missions that were a ton of fun to play but still didn't go overboard to feel gimmicky like a bit of the later campaigns did.
This one mission has choices that affect the campaign, moments that make you feel like a badass, and some good comedy to really capture that StarCraft feeling. It really is a shame that the future campaigns (or the multiplayer) really lived up to Wings of Liberty. Right from the start of Heart of the Swarm, you can tell that less work was put into the campaign, and that becomes even more blatant in Legacy of the Void.
My only issue with Wings of Liberty is that there wasn't more of it
Truly a masterpiece. As i kid i remember playing it for the 6 time and only then finding out about secret mission. I was so stunned and amazed. You could literally play it multiple times and it wouldnt be the same. Fun fact, when i tried to do hurry up its raid night achievement I found out you could finish the campaign with only 13/26 mission! You have to do it in good order and you skip all terrazine and colonies saving mission. Its crazy how they thought of this and its completely logical that you dont have to do them all.
Until the about the half of HOTS (Zerus) the campaing felt fresh and nice, but after the transformation, it just felt it was rushed.
LOTV is way worse, it was fun to play but storywise it was so cliche and dumb, the characters felt like they came from Marvel not from SC and Amon was so generic and bland.

One big reason to pick Tosh’s mission over Nova’s for me is the fact that you’re not only freeing the spectres, but also so many more wrongly imprisoned victims of Mengsk’s fascism. It’s the only choice, really

I never do this mission in the Story. The Specter's special abilities (stun + lash), +10 to Armor (which helps immensely later) and the permacloak outweigh the benefits the standard Ghosts have. Not to mention principle.
I tend to not use the Specter nor Ghost very heavily in the campaign, but I go with Tosh on basically every replay of Wings of Liberty because it is pretty apparent that Tosh is the better option. As far as I can tell there really isn't any evidence that Specters are all murderous psychopaths (if anything that is Firebats) and considering that Tosh is willing to help Jim in Heart of the Swarm while Nova captures Jim no matter if you help her or not, there is one clear choice as to who you should set your loyalties to.

The funny thing about this is that if Jim canonically do this. HoTS would never happen and Kerrigan would still be human. Because Nova tell him that she maybe was gonna left him go if he would help her with the Tosh issue. So sad, Jim.
Not really since dominion ghosts get a recent memory wipe after each mission to prevent them from rebelling or giving away Intel. So Nova wouldn't t remember a thing of what actually happened by HotS and capture Jim anyways.
Then again she probably gets away with her memory and pretends to not remember

I enjoy Tosh's Company. Even near the end of the campaign he always has something to say especially at the Xel naga temple you get to have a Dark Ghost's Input on it.
Tosh's commentary on the Prophecy missions is just one more reason as to why I enjoy Tosh so much

Palagin520 bit late, but not quite. specters are no more prone to psychotic outbreaks than the average person, but the process that makes them specters usually makes them very superstitious and slightly neurotic, so most of them have totems or trinkets for luck. tosh's trinket is his voodoo dolls.
I would feel like this is yet another great example of sc2's campaign giving the player a choice in how to proceed in the story.
Except it would entertain the possibility that some players picked Tosh over Nova...

You know, not only did Tosh NOT stay with you till the end (he pretty much left before you go on char and never returned), but neither did he ever really help you bring down Mengsk. It would have been satisfactory had the spectre, and perhaps even Tosh himself, been involved in the attack of Mengsk on korhal in Heart Of The Swarm. Perhaps the spectre could have went in together with Raynor when he stormed Mengsk fortress.
