- DIY Textured Wall Art with Gold Leaf/ Simple DIY Wall Art with Spackle!
In this painting I am doing a really fun textured piece of wall art! This is so easy, anyone can do this at home for their own piece of wall art! I used spackle and a texture tool to create various shapes across the stretched canvas, and then used acrylic paints in light green and beige to finish the larger textured portions. I then used gold leaf to fill in the smaller half circles. Leaf and glue I used are linked below!
Spackle: amzn.to/37mK3AJ
Spatulas: amzn.to/37mTeRG and amzn.to/3xCyAaT
Gold leaf: amzn.to/3PlLSyW

Thank you! 😊
I love the texture. ❤️
Thank you so much!
@@amandasstudio is plaste ? Or cold porcelain clay?
Looks lovely. I will likely try something like this as I want to add more of my original art in my home. I would have added beautiful crystals or stones to enhance the 3D design. Thanks for sharing!!
Adding crystals or stones would be beautiful!
This was so relaxing to watch 😊
Glad you enjoyed!
This is gorgeous and I love the music too 💖
Thank you!
Looks amazing 🤩
Thank you!
Wow this is gorgeous ❤
Thank you! 😊
Amazing.. I love it thanks 🐾🌹
Thank you!
Magnifique bravo 😍😍😍
Thank you!
I gotta give this a shot!!!!
I hope you enjoy it if you try it out!
magnifique. merci
Beautiful work , thank you for sharing your time and talent. I was wondering how thin or thick should i spread the spackling to prevent cracking or is there a way to seal it after?
I think any thickness (for me at least) over 1/4 inch is too thick and will crack. I've only had a couple crack and those were ones that I made way too thick.
@@amandasstudioq
Love it! Thank you
Glad you enjoyed it!
That's very beautiful my friend you are a real artist!
Thank you so much 😀
I loved that one, I have the big tool that does that. I'm going to try it.
Have fun trying it out!
I love your texture art pieces! The videos are so relaxing to watch and inspiring to try. Thank you for showing the use of gold foil- it looks awesome.
After watching a tutorial I love seeing the full view of the final product. However things pop up on the screen and cover the images. Is there a way to show the final image beforehand in full?
Thank you so much! And thanks for the heads up on the ending, I will work on that to make sure you can see better pics of my final paintings :)
El papel, q merial es?
This is so nice! Great job
Thank you so much!
Hi. Such a beautiful piece. Newbie here. I see that you used modeling paste for some of your pieces and spackle for this one. How do they compare? I am thinking of doing a large piece on canvas for home deco. Worried about cracks. What would you recommend and any tips? Thanks.
I've been trying out whatever I can find for texture mediums. I like spackle because it is less expensive and as long as I don't make it too thick it doesn't crack for me.
Tks very beautiful art❤
Thank you!
This looks so cool. How much drying time between spackling the canvas and adding the paint?
I wait a day!
Gorgeous texture. Thanks for sharing 😊
Thanks so much 😊
Einfach nur schön. Werde es mit dem Wort Liebe versuchen
Thank you so much!
Looks cool
Thank you!
Love this👏👏👏👏
Thank you!
So pretty and so fun
Thank you!
Hermoso!!!
Amazing
Nice!
Ive a problem with the glue that I use for foil.
You use one king but recommend another in the description (the one that I use, but not to happy with).
Any other recommendations for foil glue?
The kind that I put in the description is what I am using in the video, I just put it in a different container. This glue dries tacky so that the gold leaf sticks to it.
What do you use to protect the whole painting and the gold? Any suggestion on finishing?
I just used a spray varnish to protect the piece.
Such a beautiful video
Thank you so much!
Beautiful ❤❤❤❤
Thank you! 😊
Hi your work is amazing. Can I know how to seal it without collecting dust at last? And did u apply varnish after completing the art work?
Before varnishing or sealing it, you can used canned air to remove any dust or hair from the surface.
Nice piece 😍
Thank you! 😊
Excelente mil gracias por compartir tu maravilloso contenido
Thank you!
Love ❤️ it
Thank you!
Beautiful!
Thank you!
Beautiful piece. Do you prime your canvas? Also, how do you seal/ protect the art at the end?
Thank you! All of the canvases I buy are pre-primed. I finish these with a spray varnish.
Would you be so kind to share the link to the finishing spray varnish 🙏
wow dude i love u, it works!
Thank you!
i love what you did ! and the texture is awesome 🤩 i have a question did you use only plaster ?
Thank you! Yes I am just using spackle.
Lovely work and easy to follow. Where can we get the tool used
Thank you! I believe I had the texture tools linked in the video description.
Beautiful artwork, keep at it, good job
I need some help.
My girlfriend started to do her own, but she says hers canvas started to crack, could it be the type of spackle she’s using? Too much? Not mixing enough? Or could it be the paint? Or is it normal? Thanks
It could be how thick she has it on the canvas. I just did another one a few days ago and I made it really thick and it is the first one that I've had crack.
Ok thanks, I’ll let her know, and thanks for the reply
Can you please share the name of that white tool u used to create the design?Cant find the link for it in the description
They are cake icing decorating tools!
Can you tell the process to make this perfect texture?
How did you stick the gold sheet on your canvas ?
Glue.
Do you recommend applying primer prior to applying the texture paste?
My canvas are preprimed so I do not but you can if you want to.
Good idea 😊i like it
Thank you so much 😊
co lol. Thanks for the aweso tutorial!
Glad you liked it!
Hi
Can I use the modpodge plaster of Paris texture below oil painting instead of acrylic ?
I don't know how well oil paint would work but you could try it out. And yes, plaster of paris should also work. I've only used it a little bit so I don't know if it would crack at all.
Gorgeous! What is this you're brushing onto it from the squeeze bottle?
Thank you, that is glue.
Hy.... After its finish do you add anything to avoid dust to your art work ??? If yes what do you use
Tqvm
You can add varnish. You can also use canned air to remove and hair or dust if anything settles on the painting.
Hi did you have to put anything on the sparkle in order to paint on it? Or did you just paint after it dried?
I just painted on it after it dried, no need to prime it but you could if you wanted to.
What is in the little squirty bottle at the beginning? Glue? Do you let it dry before painting? Thanks very much
Yes it is glue and I let it dry before adding the leaf. It dries tacky.
Let dry before adding the gold leaf?
Do you put gold foil when the past is dry?
Yes!
very very nice
Thanks a lot!
nice - pls can i ask - what material is the white main stuff? filler? acrylic?
Spackle
What glue you have used. And after leaf paisting u did varnish. Which varnish ?
This is the glue: amzn.to/3SegJ1X
Hi, what did you spray before you applied gold leaf?
Glue!
Can you paint before the spackle drys or is it best to wait?
I wait for it to dry, you'll ruin the design if you try and paint it while wet.
@@amandasstudio Thank You
once the plaster/filler is dry, can it be painted over with acrylics?
Yes I painted this after the spackle was dry.
Do you have to use canvas? Or could you use 1/4” mdf board?
I think MDF board would work fine.
What board do you recommend? Canvas or mdf
Either work; this one is on canvas but I have also worked on wood. I think it is just personal preference.
How long does it take the spackle in description to dry please? Thank you.
I let it dry for a day.
Does the paste need to be wet/damp for the gold leaf to stick to?
No I let it dry first and then glue the gold leaf down.
Awesome work. What type of paint are you using. Please and thank you.
I am using acrylic paints.
Magnifique travail mais quelle texture employez-vous?
I am using spackle.
Absolutely stunning!!! Love it! What is that solution you’re using at 2:19? Is it the adhesive? Thank you for your work!!
Thank you! It is the glue for the gold leaf, here: amzn.to/3SegJ1X
@@amandasstudio like regular glue?
Awesome but how to protect the painting can we varnish it ? Is varnish ok on gold leaf?
I used spray varnish on mine.
@@amandasstudio thank you 💐
How long after finishing the painting you varnish that ? Thanks
have you used any glue to paste golden paper?
Yes, I use this glue for the leaf: amzn.to/3lr1G9y
Oups!! Is that modeling pastel that you use
This is just spackle!
Hi. Can you please tell what's the white paste you use to make the texture?
Spackle!
Hi
Do you know any place to get extra large canvases for cheaper prices ?
Thank you
Craft stores would have large canvases.
Do you wait until the spackle is dry before you move to the next step
Yes I do!
After applying glue wts dat second layer? Is it grey paint?
I added gold leaf after the glue. I used light green and beige for the colors.
Sehr sehr schön.. was für eine größe ist das vom leinwand?
Thank you! This one was a 14" x 18" canvas
Can I use oil paint instead of acrylic after apply spackle ?
I don't know, I do not use oil paints so I don't know if that would work well.
Beautiful. Ok probably dumb question lol. If you put glue on the whole half circle how come it doesn’t stick to the whole circle. I see it only sticks to top. But if there’s clue on the whole things why just the rings ? Lol see lol
The gold leaf is very fragile and tore while I was trying to place it on the texture, so it is just something that I can add more leaf to, to fill in those other areas that had glue on them.
Could you plz tell me the exact steps..cause I am interested to make one.How long you want after each step ?
Put the spackle down, crate the arches or shape on the canvas with tools and let it dry. I let mine dry for a day. Add the glue for the gold leaf and then finished it with acrylic paints.
Can I use acrylic metalic paint for shining
Yes metallic paint works well too.
Very pleasing and satisfying to watch your art!! May I know the name of the tools that you use to create textures?
Thank you! I have the texture tools linked in the video description.
Where do I find those scraper tools? Thanks very much
I linked the scrapers in the video description :)
Potrei per cortesia sapere cosa hai usato... Gesso? Con colla? É molto bello il tuo quadro ma non so che materiale potresti avere usato.
Products are linked in the video description. I am using spackle.
Very nice did you have to prep your canvas first?
I do not; most canvas comes already pre-gessoed but you can always add another coat if you want.
@@amandasstudio thank you. I appreciate you taking time out of your life to respond. You are appreciated.
Qu'est ce que vous utilisez???
Beautiful what materials did you use?
Spackle, glue and gold leaf! The color is all acrylic paint.
Can we use acrylic putty instead of Spackle? Pls. Thnku
Yes there are tons of other texture pastes you can use.
What was that you squirted on before the paint?
That was glue for the gold leaf.
Gracias x compartir, x favor nombre de lá masa pa tratar de hacer las hermosuras q realiza, saludos desde Lima-Perú 😊🇵🇪
Thank you! I am using spackle for the texture.
