Very nice! I had forgotten how many 2-8-4s I had made over the years :D
I know I’ve said it like a million times, and I know it won’t be until way later this year, but when it comes, can I provide stuff to base off of for A&A 18? It’d save you a lot of time.
K&L Trainz
Thanks
When more 2-8-4 are installed, the video will be extended.
K&L Trainz, there's someone that commented on my video saying "I'm using Trainz 12 but my Polar Express whistle is not working HELP PLEASE.".
I don't know how, but mine works in Trainz 12, but not on his side. Do you think you can help him?
He's "SCL 256 Productions" by the way.

Sir how to use secondary echo whistle
0:35 that sound strangely satisfying
the same can be said about most steam whistles
i dont think so much
1:33 sounds familiar to A&WP 290 since the 1990s, SLSF 1522, PM 1225 in the 2000s, NC&STL 576, N&W 611, SP 4449, UP FEF Class, RJ Corman 2008 in his final run, Western Maryland Potomac, and SP&S 700. And for 765 with a Dixie whistle at 0:52 sounded like 1522, RJ Corman 2008 in his final run, and a Western Maryland Potomac.
Polar Express has an amazing whistle.
I’m sorry but which locomotive are you reffering too?

Great vid. I really love hearing the diversity of the whistles
1:49 That whistle sounds a lot like the one from "Back to the future".
Well it is actually as it's originally off Sierra Railway no 3 as everyone would already know and most people would already know this too but the locomotive that is in The Polar Express is actually based on the Pere Marquette no 1225 except it has a few changes to it but that's for the one's who don't know.
You know 2-8-4 berkshire i just like pere marquette, Nice video!

I have a question What's the difference between a berkshire (NKP & PM) a kanawha and greenbrier (C&O)?
The Berkshires are designated by their 2-8-4 wheel configuration. The 2-8-4s on the C&O are called "Kanawhas" (class K-4); named after the river in West Virginia where they serviced. The Northerns are designated by their 4-8-4 wheel configuration. The 4-8-4s on the C&O are referred to as "Greenbriers" (class J series), named after the luxury resort hotel in the Allegheny Mountains in West Virginia.
Chesapeake and Ohio #2716 is undergoing restoration to operating condition n will be ready for it's 3rd excursion career next year, so get excited, get hyped n be ready for the 3rd return of this Kenall K-4
2789 is also going under restoration
Did you know that the 1225 and the 765 formed a double-header to Huntington, West Virginia for the National Railway Historical Society Convention in 1991? The 1225 and 765 ran double-headed to Huntington and during part of their time of the convention, they ran side-by-side on the double-track CSX main line, the 1225 with 30 passenger coaches, full of at least 2,000 passengers on board, behind both of their tool cars, red for the 765 and green for the 1225, just because they blend into the coaches, and the 765 itself with 25 brand new, shiny, empty, CSX hopper cars, complete with an old Chessie System caboose on the opposite end of the 765. Well what I'm trying to say in reference for it all is I miss the old whistle from the 1225. Sorry if I insulted you, I just personally think the old whistle sounds better. If you aren't interested or able to upload the part with the 1225 blowing it's old whistle, that's fine. I was bringing it up as an idea. Course I forgot about the part where before the 1225 met up with the 765 in Lima, well from Toledo to Lima, because of a selfish railway inspector being disrespectful to the 1225's history of being built in 1941 when speedometers weren't invented yet, the 1225 was restricted to 25 mph from Plymouth to Toledo and time was running out, so in order to make up for some lost time, the 1225 and it's train had to ride with a diesel until Lima, and then the diesel split up because the 765 already had a speedometer, so then the 765 led the double-header and the 1225 shared it's train with the 765 to Cincinnati. However, after the convention was over, the 1225 went home to Owosso and ran at super high speed instead of 25 mph. Probably because the railway inspector learned about the 1225's history and took back the speed restriction. And since the return trip back home, the 1225 now has a new speedometer installed to prevent an incident like that from happening again. That's what I heard, was I right about it all?
I got a question, how do I replace the whistle with the Older one (to the 0:35)?
what version of trainz do you use
1:16 it almost sounds like a union pacific challenger hooter.
1:12 2:24 they sound the Same but similar
0:35 where did you get that whistle?
They need to put this on the hudson

2716 is the 1218 n&w whistle
No audio scooping teach me your ways
The polar express is similar to peer Marquette
At 0:36, does that whistle come with the NKP Berkshire pack when you buy it?
TheBNSFengineer 1104
Well close. I found it in a folder called "old" in a hornsound asset for Trainz called "NKP Berkshire Whistle (3 Part)" that was heard before that part you mentioned.
Jay Laurent how do you change the file so that whistle will work?
TheBNSFengineer 1104
Folder called "Old"?
Yeah, I tried to do it myself but the only whistle that works is the second one
TheBNSFengineer 1104
Well to do so, you should rename the folder "old" to "horn", but you can't do that if there is already a folder called "horn".
The best way to do that is to create a hornsound asset in Trainz, then copy the folder "old" then rename it "horn" on the new hornsound asset.
I like the one with two whistles
Is nickel plate 587 a Berkshire like 765?
No.
She's a USRA Light 2-8-2 "Mikado".

Do the endings of 3 part whistles only work in anything above TS12?
What do you mean by asking that?
Jay Laurent just in TS12 the second part continues for a second after the point that the 3rd part should’ve gone off.
Is the echoing part not working on your side?
Jay Laurent the echoing works, it just the 3rd part sounds, but doesn’t end the horn sound. The part after you blow it just continues for an extra sec.
You mean like you blew the second whistle but it never stopped blowing the whistle for the ending part?
Nice trains
1:48 Polar Express Whistle
I saw this topic discussed in a comment below, but no clear way on how to do it was given. Could you tell me how you copied the 1225 drivers onto your 1980's/90's copy of 765?
Copy them on the config file

Um........, I don't know what to say.
But, i'll ask K&L if they can help.

I could say it's possible but that's a lot to accomplish.

Well, she is.
Nickel Plate Road #765 was re-lettered to the Chesapeake & Ohio roster, and lowered the headlight and #2765 as a Chesapeaske & Ohio Class K-4 2-8-4 "Kanawha" roster number. The C&O 2765 was reborn.
They just ad a 2 to the number board, move the head light and give it a C&O single chime

What Kuid is the second main whistle for the NKP Berkshire
Where did you get 2716 at?
how do you blow the second whistle
There is the polar express
How did you manage to get the “old” NKP 765 whistle on? I recently figured it out and been trying to switch it out, any help on how to find the kuid for it?
The file "old" is found in the same K&L kuid whistle used on the NKP 765. It only works if you switch the file names.

how do you blow the other whistle?
Do you own a trainz simulator series near Trainz 12, TANE, TMR2017?
i have Trainz 2012
OK, If your playing a game of your own or anywhere else if possible, go to the main menu on the top-left corner then go to settings; then in Trainz settings, go the Control Settings; then in filter, click on driver; then if you see Second Whistle/Horn by any chance, click on it and put the key you want to blow the second whistle on, if there's no key control. If I were you, I would use the key G, because nothing I see happens when pressing G. But, it's your game you can choose your own key.
But if something goes wrong, let me know or click here.

On 2765 how did u blow the whistle in the front?
At 0:35, did you reskin that?
TrainFan67
I did not reskin the texture I copied the NKP Berk from the original one installed, then used 1225 drivers with that copy
Ah, ok then, Well, can you tell me how to do that? Because I really want to make another version of K&L's NKP Berkshire with those black wheels.
nvm, I figured it out. :)

1:12 is spooky
Not to be nit picky. But the ATSF also has a few 2-8-4's on their roster. Known as the 4101 class. But oh well. These engines sound great anyways.
Thanks for info.
ATSF also received 7 batches of 4193 class 2-8-4s (originally, class T-1's from the Boston & Maine Railroad). Southern Pacific Railroad received 10 T-1 engines as well.
You know that?
Yeah. I heard that they got one batch of Berks from Baldwin (As new.) And they bought 7 Lima 2-8-4's from the B&M. As for the SP Berks, that's news to me.
This video is meant for the Berks that K&L has made. And it's unlikely that they will make the Erie or 1925 Berkshires if they are not commissioned.
K&L never made ATSF 4101's, but you can find some at High Desert Trainz
