  • The strike capabilities of the world's most iconic 4th generation small jet fighter F-16 are enough to make the Russian air force more than nervous. Su-34, Su-35 and even strategic bombers will be in the danger zone when Ukrainian pilots will be roaming the skies of F-16s.

It's so exciting to see Lloyd Austin speaking so boldly from his prepared remarks, two years into the failure of the Pentagon to adequately oppose the long-awaited Soviet advance. All that money Reagan and others invested sits in warehouses awaiting more cash from Congress to buy new toys.

A brief history of the confrontation.
Globalists are against the Russian people.
2007 - Putin, speaking in Munich, accuses the West of unleashing wars, organizing color revolutions, and destroying the world order.
2008 - The West launched a war against Russia, killing 79 Russian peacekeepers in South Ossetia.
2014 - The West organized a coup in Ukraine, brought the Nazi junta to power there, began to destroy the Russian-speaking majority in Ukraine and arm Ukraine, preparing it for an attack on Russia.
2007-2022 - The West is trying to sway protests in Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan, trying to carry out coups in these three countries.
2022 - The Bandera junta attacks the independent republics of Donbass and starts a war. 8 days later, Russia invades Ukraine and begins an operation to protect the republics of Donbass.
2024 - Russia liberates the Russian lands of Ukraine from Nazi occupiers, the standard of living in Russia is high, the standard of living in the West has collapsed, the whole world is on Russia's side against the West.

Ukraine won't be flying F-16s anytime soon. It takes 4-5 years to train an F-16 pilot. The 1st class of 4 Ukrainians are about 1 year into the process and are far behind schedule.
Ukrainian maintenance personnel didn't start training until Jan 2024. I worked on F-16s. Takes 3 years of technical school, correspondence courses, and on the job training just to work on the jet without an experienced technician looking over your shoulder. 8 years to be fully qualified.

Ukrainian pilots have been training on the F-16 for over a year now. They are ready if not, close to it. Even better, US instructors tasked with training Ukrainian pilots have reported a much quicker learning of the jet and its systems than anticipated. The pilots are highly highly motivated to learn and succeed and this is showing in their progress. What normally takes 1-2 years is taking less than a year. Once pilots know the jet and the systems the training turns to logistics and planning. They’re getting the job done faster and with greater accuracy and success than pilots who undergo regular training for the F-16.

Aviation is essential to NATO doctrine. The lack in this area is why the Ukranian counter-offensive did not make progress. For example, when breaking through minefields it is essential to gain local control of the skies and to destroy any artillery that can interdict a breakthrough.
If you look at any conflicts where US and other western aircraft have gone up against Soviet/Russian aircraft, you can see why this is such a game changer for Ukraine.

I doubt that F16s, which are a plane introduced in the 1970s, and of which the airframes sent here will be 20-25 years old and fairly worn out, will be shooting down SU-57s (5th generation fighter introduced in 2020) like bees over gasoline. Most likely they will be for defensive purposes, and launching long-range strikes on high value ground targets, rather than air-to-air combat against much more advanced fighters.

@@felixluisocasio8948 You are talking about a very wealthy, highly trained army in a conflict 42 years ago. Where are you getting these numbers from???? The large Syrian air force commitment sounds like the 6 Day War, but that was 1967, before the F16 existed. It's not a "theory" that 1982 was 42 years ago, or maybe you never learned math in school. The F16 was a 4 year old plane then, now, it is almost half a century old. The blocks of planes the Danes and Dutch have are also old, and the airframes in use for over 20 years; they are worn-out old planes. The Serbs in the Balkans were using mostly Mig21s...you know, (or, I guess you don't, because you seem terribly informed and incapable of basic logic or counting), the same ones the North Vietnamese used in the Vietnam War, in the 1960s. Also, that was 25 years ago. The Russians have 5th generation aircraft (SU57), as well as SU35s (introduced 2014). I suspect you are perhaps a teenager who gets your ideas about war from Hollywood movies where everything American is magical, but as we've seen with the Abrams, Challenger and other 'game changers' your childish fantasies don't apply on the real battlefield.
