    On your point about Reusser, she said this in an interview in December "Last season, I was the leader in selected races, but often a helper. I have said that I will no longer do this in this form. Those responsible are now designing the race calendar. It's all still in the making."

    • @MusikPiratCH
      @MusikPiratCH Před 2 měsíci

      Well, if you look at the roaster SD Worx has the 4 top riders with Vollering, Kopecky, Reusser and Wiebes! At the team presentation Anna van der Breggen said: "It's impossible to lead them!" But on the other hand she added: "The last season showed it's quiet possible!"
      But of course Reusser did the whole work in the TdF femmes without being rewarded as the most active rider! *too sad*

    With average/median budget chat, also consider that not every team is maxed out on riders (ranges from 12-19 riders in the women, compared to 27-30 in the men’s for total team size, way smaller range) or go to every world tour race… so may want to look at budget in terms of riders/races attended too

    Did you listen to Reusser's interview (after the stage where Bauernfeind won solo)? Reusser explained that the team radio said take out you're too close! And later (according to Reusser maybe far too late) they ordered her "full gas" (what Reusser did)! Then Reusser (and Lippert) couldn't explain why they found themselves the two of them. Then Reusser didn't lead because Lippert was clearly better in the sprint and Reusser already lead for 20 km. That was deciding for Bauernfeind's victory!
    Yes, indeed I'd go as far as to say without Reusser Vollering wouldn't have won the Tdf femmes (avec ZWIFT)! All the work was done by Reusser!
    It will be very interesting to see whether Reusser and SD Worx will sign a new contract? Because at the end of this 2024 season Reusser's contract runs out?
    I guess for each team Reusser would be a great team mate! 🤔

    Last season only AVV caused SDWorx to worry that they could actually lose a bike race. Without her in the peloton I fear that there will be no challengers and hence no drama throughout the season. If I am right, it's very bad for the continued growth of women's cycling.

  • @miche_amico
    @miche_amico Před 4 měsíci +1

    I think Weibes staying at DSM would've been good for the sake of women's cycling. The SD Worx domination makes it less interesting for me. I hope to see things get shaken up a bit this year - providing I can watch a lot of the women's races now that GCN+ is gone.

  • @traderz13
    @traderz13 Před 4 měsíci

    A point I think you are missing about how do u keep all these stars happy is, this is womens cycling, generally speaking the pay is crap. SDWorks are probably the only ones paying decently so that will go a long way to keeping them happy.
    There were a lot of women riders that didnt get paid at all still in 2022 and 2023, ask Audrey Cordon-ragot. So even if Weibus win rate gets reduced, she might be earning double and when u arent earning that much it means a lot.
    I heard AVV was only earning 150k in her prime. Nows shes retired she has to get a job. Its a v different world to mens cycling and the riders have different additional stresses to make them unhappy.
