Taylor Knibb is the strongest biker in triatlon. She is sponsored by Trek and use sthe same powermeter as the cycling team so they decided to sign her after seeing her power data. She only raced the US time trial championship this year.
In German, it's indeed "Leedle". 😉
Thanks a lot again for the preview guys. Makes me very happy to hear you talk with so much knowledge about the womens teams
LR and Benji come to the US. I'm all for it . I could use two tug buddies on the Saturday club ride.
Came for the pronunciation, stayed for the cycling talk
I am German. Unfortunately the correct way to pronounce it is the more difficult version. LEEDL. Not liddle.😁
Benji trying to put on a professional podcast… while Patrick is constantly throwing up fireworks, thumbs ups and hearts… ya love to see it 😆
Taylor Knibb is widely considered the best female cyclist in short course triathlon, she is reigning half ironman world champ (also won in 2022). She finished 35 seconds behind Dygert at the US national TT's so has plenty of power - not sure how much race craft considering her go to strategy is to try and ride competitors of the wheel!
Regarding Kasia Niewiadoma's lack of wins (quite a bit of podiums including Tour). She was regularly denied by SD Worx, which arguably has much more depth as well as individual talent. I think she achieved proportionally to her potential.
You are partly right, but her headless chicken tactics ( and that of her team) also played a part. Both her and the team seemed to have improved the riders and the strategy at the end of the year, so I am hopefull that they will play a bigger part in 2024! She also seemed to have found more of a winning mentality, so maybe she will go the AVV way of improving a lot at a later age.
@@rulifaller8474 to me the attempts to suprpise the SD Works might be looking like the chaotic strategy. Canyon SRAM didn't have enough firepower to overcome the SDW conventionally. You might say it's headless chicken, I would say it's desperate searching for surprise.
Fair enough, desperate headless chickens😉
for future pods, if you make the peace sign, balloons will appear ;)
I think Niewiadoma's lack of wins is a product the women's calendar being so much smaller than the men's. If I'm reading PCS correctly Gent-Wevelgem is the only race Kasia went to in 2023 where Vollering wasn't also present! That's brutal, especially since as one of Vollerings 2-3 closest competitors she would always be marked.
She could have done the Giro, UAE, or Scandinavia. It's also that Vollering is riding a lot of wwt stage races (7 if I recall correctly). I don't think the women calendar is short on stage races. On the contrary, there are quite a lot of them. They're missing big one-day races a bit more (San Remo, Lombardia).
@@nico210 First I agree the lack of women's races for the Italian monuments is a travesty. But my point isn't the number of stage races it's the number of stage race days. They're so much shorter that riders do most races on the calendar and still have fewer race days than the men. If the women had to pick and choose like the men I'd expect Kasia to wine a couple one weeks a year because she'd usually have much weaker competition.
The inverted bell curve!!!!!!!
I expect Trek and Canyon to be more competitive this year. And I have a small hope that Niewiadoma will go the AVV route and explode after 30. But the bottom line is still that the three best riders at SD are stronger than any of their riders. Especially Wiebes improving her climbing so much is a huge problem for Balsamo. Dygert is the only rider who could potentially be at the level of the SD top 3, but she will probably focus on the Olympics TT and track.
The main hope for the big races is that SD riders are less willing to work together. Wiebes already showed at EC that she was unhappy about how many wins she had to give up. And Reusser already said that she wants to be less of a helper this year. Kopecky is going to LBL. Etc.
Movistar should not really be in this list in my opinion. Without AVV they have little hope of competing at the biggest race, unless Lippert takes a huge step up. If she has last years level she will get some wins, but who else on the team will? It is telling that you spend so much time talking about a junior who is nowhere near competing at the highest level. Other teams will be just as competitive or better. I hope Vos will be at 2022 level again and with Van Empel focusing more on the road now and Markus and Henderson improving they could play a bigger role this year. And maybe FDJ will get their act together, Ludwig did seem to realize at the end of 2023 that actually racing will get her more wins than sitting in the wheels all day.
Beating 19 year old Nienke Vinke and Neve Bradbury at TdU is not really a sign that you are AVV 2.0 or a top 3 climber in the world. But good for her that she is back on track, and the AG team also looks more competitive this year.
Hi from Canadia!
Leeedle trek
Bell curve graphic an excellent addition to the video
Rapha Lincoln GP is an open race that Cat came 6th in.
Watch out for Imogen Wolf (her current teammate, same age) this year as a big signing.
Come for the team preview, stay for the Facetime emotes
Do a tdt unibet preview
Benji is partially right about the primaries. Primaries are elections that the parties use to select their presidential candidates for the general presidential election.
Is realini’s descending really gonna be that big of a problem in the tour? On stage 8 you could send Van Dijk and maybe ELB in the break to help on the descent right?
And SD Workx is just going to let Van Dijk and ELB into a break? Of course not. So yes, her descending is a problem, as are her weaknesses in all other aspects of cycling other than long climbs. It is not her fault, it is mainly because of her weight, but it is the way it is. If the other teams are smart enough they will make sure she is already behind before the last stage.
I remember a recent podcast with remco evenepoel, where he said he and his wife vacationed in the U.S. I wonder if he really enjoyed not being recognized, like in Europe. I’d imagine he probably liked being anonymous
Come to the Maryland Cycling Classic 🙌
Lippert is way stronger than her results, but the team tactics of movistar is an issue. Not as worse like SD Worx, but the biggest upgrade for movistar would be a good DS.
Unthinking you are partly right, but I would also say that Lipperts level was a bit disappointing after what she showed in the 2022 WCs.
Vos 🐐
yeah, you guys upgraded to MacOS Sonoma recently too! lol.
My daily driver is High Sierra.... OCLP is in my future.
Gotta love these vendors turning stuff on by default, and then their users have to search around to find out why there's crap popping up out of nowhere. Nice job Apple.
Off topic, but did I miss the men's Israel preview?
They are not World Tour, are they?
@@ArraKis1337they made some good signings and promising rider’s would of been nice atleast at 25-30 min one
@@Arsenalcycling yes but as far as I know those two only preview world tour teams. Lets see.
As a German:
Leeedllll is harder to say for you because you're stressing the second l too much I feel.
But: please stay with little Trek, it's much funnier
english little german Liedel
love the vids! first
Gahh you beat me by a minute

At 4:05 there is a mistake. Benji is talking about the results of Lidl Trek and speaking about their GC results and Longo Borghini getting 4th in the Tour de France ?¿? That didn't happened at all. In 2023, Elisa didn't finish the Tour because she had a skin infection. Neither it happened in 2022, she got 6th. Maybe it was the Giro 2023 where Gaia got 4th.
You're right. Not sure where my head got that from. 😂
2024 is an election year for the US president. It will be in November.
Y'all questioning Voss not being the goat? When did you start smoking crack. She dominated everything in her prime. AVV clearly #2 but clearly not #1
November 2024 is Biden v Trump so yes, election year.
