Hi Elise, I ordered the yarn you use to make the mouse with, but the delivery date is a while off!
I couldn’t wait to get started so I’ve used DK wool that I already had, so I’m making the larger version. I’ve completed the legs and body and have just started the head. I can’t wait to do the smaller version when my wool arrives!
I’m telling you all of this, because I just love, love your tutorial videos. You have made learning Amigurumi such a breeze. My daughter has also got into crocheting, I shared your videos and she has finished her catster and has started the bitty bunny!

So looking forward to making Petunia Mouse. Really appreciate your detailed tutorial for this beautiful pattern. Will watch the video through while deciding on my yarns, i like to use my stash whenever possible, then when ive decided I'll rewatch and make my mouse along with you.
Wonderful! Yes, use the yarn you already have! I made Petunia with sport and worsted weight yarns to see how they work up differently! Loved both. But you could use DK yarn as well! All you have to do is adjust the hook size! 🧶💗🐭🧵🪡
@@EliseRoseCrochetI've picked out some DK from my stash to use, just wondering what size hooks to go with, somewhere between what you've used for the sport and worsted weight yarns.
I would experiment with different size crochet hooks. I might start with a 3 mm and see how you feel the stitches look. I would also look at the recommended crochet hook size on the yarn label and then subtract 2. For example if the recommended hook size is a 5 mm then I would subtract 2 and get 3 mm. That's a good starting point! Hope that helps! 🧶🐭💗🧵🪡
@@EliseRoseCrochet . Thank you I thought I would do a test first before I make a start. I'll probably start at 2.5mm and see how I get on. I use 3mm with a slightly thicker DK I have, so I think I'll need a smaller hook size with this yarn. If I had a 2.75mm I'd probably try that first but I don't, so I'll start with 2.5mm. Thanks for the reply.
