Good ol' Primestar! $99 for the entire TV package, which wasn't as premium as Directv at the time.

We couldn't get Cable where I lived. So until about early 95 we still had antenna with the rotor lol. We only had Fox, ABC, NBC, PBS and whatever other channel we got lucky to get lol. We use to watch smoky mtn wrestling on some of the clear good days. Those small dishes changed the game. My Aunt use to babysit me and they had one of those big dishes that picked up every channel on planet Earth lol. My Grandparents had one of those small RCA dishes.

The only way you could receive local stations back then is by turning your minidish into a satellite antenna or adding rabbit ears to your TV (I'm not sure If that's compatible for the BUD system), or you could use a regular OTA antenna and adding/adjusting the coaxial cable (RG6U/RG11U/RG59U) to your receiver.

Primestar's, Digiciper 3 In The 1990's Founded What We Now Know As HDTV. The Worst Thing Primestar Ever Did Was Sale Themselves Out To DirecTV AT&T.

This looks to be around the late 1990's, I thought the big satellites weren't being used as much.

Cable began in 1949 and most people switched to cable in the United States in 1965.
