Babymetal , in their own music, does the singing and dancing 'pop' style with a heavy metal backing band (Kami band). Be careful with them, Amuse is notorious for blocking their stuff. Su Metal(lead vocals) , Moa Metal, and newer member Momometal.
Electric Callboy is a German electronicore band (EDM crossed with metalcore). Formed in 2010 as Eskimo Callboy, they changed the name in 2022 after finding out that 'eskimo' can be offensive to some native North Americans.
You're right ,they are a fun band, but they can play. Nico (clean vocals) joined in 2020, and the band took off . Kevin on the harsh. Rhythm guitarist Pascal Schillo and his brother produce their videos,(they did this video too).
A 50/50 collab, they have played this live several times, some with Kami band, and some with the EC band. Some of the growls near the end were done by Momometal.
Love Electric Callboy, their videos(since Nico joined) are pure fun, check out "Hypa Hypa", "We Got The Moves", and "Pump It" to start. Not familiar enough with the Babymetal catalog to give good suggestions.

Babymetal is their own thing. Fans call them kawaii metal, cute metal, they call themselves a metal dance unit. They are not bound by genre; they play everything from black metal to pop. I saw them with Dethklok, a metalcore band, last year and of the two groups, Babymetal were the more brutal. And Momoko growls too - she added her growls to Kevin's in this song, hers are lower in pitch. Monochrome - Live PIA Arena would be a next song to check out, or Metali - Live would be another good choice. Both Babymetal and Electric Callboy have some of the best stage productions of touring bands today.

Babymetal is one of the most diverse/far-ranging bands out there. They have some mellow stuff and some really heavy stuff. They’ve brought in traditional japanese folk instruments, thai rappers, celtic, and even hindi. Their backup band is amazing and the girls are as hard working and well-rehearsed as they are talented and beautiful. For a sense of their range, check out BcMxC, then Monochrome piano version, and then Shanti Shanti Shanti. There is nothing Su can’t sing.

Great reaction, I do hope you check out both groups. Both Electric Callboy and Babymetal started in 2010 to make metal fun. EC combines Techno/EDM with satirical humor and metal, while Babymetal combines J-Pop and choreography with very heavy metal music. Both bands toned down their heaviness for this song, but it's still a banger. Also, while it's a true 50/50 collab, Babymetal tend to adapt to the collab artist's styles, so this song has a very "Electric Callboy" feel.
Don't let Babymetal's "sweetness" fool you, these ladies have been going hard for 14 years. Here are some good suggetsions for you to truly understand what Babymetal is all about:
*Road of Resistance (Pia Arena MM, 2023):* Epic power metal battle anthem, and a good showcase of their stage presence and why they are 100% a live performance band.
*Monochrome (Pia Arena MM, 2023):* Heartfelt, melodic, yet heavy at times. Great performance.
*Metali (Official Live):* Fun groovy metal festival song, featuring Tom Morello on guitar solos.
The 1st 2 songs you can find at "From the Fox God" channel, Metali is on Babymetal's official CZcams channel. Babymetal's label/distributor have been much easier on copy right issues in recent years, from specific shows. Pia Arena MM shows have been reacted to a million times, usually without much issues if you pause a decent amount.
Look forard to more Babymetal! 🤘🦊

Babymetal is a great blend. They have metal music and pop music. They do have choreography on 95% of their songs. They are both around 14 years old (EC and BM). So BM has been killing it since the lead singer was 12 years old. BM has really blown up over 2023 and 2024. They fuse pop and metal fabulously. PIA arena 2023 performances of Megitsune, Monochrome, Road of Resistance are great. This was after a year long hiatus. Other performances are Yava 2021. Headbanger 2023. So BM is a Heavy Metal fusion with dance and pop. The girls are known as. Su-Metal / lead singer. Moametal / scream and dance, Yuimetal / scream and dance ( but left in 2018 due to health reasons and now Momometal / scream and dance. They invented this genre (Kawaii Metal or cute metal). Enjoy.

I would suggest their very first MV 'Doki Doki Morning' that was done on a shoestring budget and shows how young they were when they started. Great first reaction. Although this is a straight collaboration it is more in the Electric Callboy style overall - but BABYMETAL can do everything and they can blend in with so many other bands' styles that any collaboration they do (and they have done several with some very different bands and artists) just works.
Both bands formed in 2010. Electric Callboy are from Germany - great musicians, but, as you guessed, they like to have fun and inject some humour into what they do.
BABYMETAL are from Japan and they are the best live entertainment of any kind that I've had the privilege to experience in person.
You won't have seen or heard anything quite like them, they pioneered their own metal sub-genre fusing metal with J-Pop hooks, melodies and aesthetics (including introducing choreographed dance to metal) and they are both original and unique.
If anything, despite how it appears in this video, BABYMETAL do more hard metal songs than EC - but they do both like to mix things up.
BABYMETAL have nearly 70 songs now, each one different to the last - some are good hard metal, some lean towards their pop roots, they do everything in between and they will also mix and blend in so many other musical styles and genres with the metal. They will surprise you every time - expect the unexpected.

Always a thoughtful, well informed reaction. My introduction to Electric Callboy is this song. I've been a rabid Babymetal fan for a while now. This is a phenomenal collab between both bands. They have developed quite a heartwarming affection for each other and have already performed this song multiple times at different festivals around the world. Babymetal is the three* young women seen here. But they are all seasoned pros touring and performing for well over 10 years in concerts, festivals and multiple world tours.
Babymetal have collabed, opened for and/or toured with many of the biggest names in metal. E.g. Metallica, Korn, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Polyphia, Dragonforce, Lady Gaga et al. They pioneered their own sub-genre of metal called Kawaii or idol/cute metal. They really entered the international scenes music radar back in 2014 and are Japan's most successful musical act. Their popularity have opened the doors for the many tremendous primarily female Japanese metal/rock bands gaining such favor in the West right now.
Babymetal have been performing in front of tens of thousands since they were young teenagers. Their live concerts are legendary. Since about 2012 they have been backed by two groups of top teir musician's. The Eastern Kami Band (2012-2019, all Japanese Musicians) and the Western Kami Band (2019 to present, all American musicians). They are a wonderfully unique, one of a kind experience and really should not be overlooked.
They're pretty much a click and play band, no bad tracks but tracks that can have a large WTF factor for Western ears on first hearing. *Two of the Babymetal OG's are still going strong (Sumetal, Moametal. Yuimetal stopped performing in 2017 due to health reasons. The newest member Momometal (mainly stage left) has performed with Babymetal since 2019 (it gets complicated). I'll leave suggestions to others but I would love to see you react to them in concert.

The gals sing live as the musician's play live all working with a click track to sync with an often dense, complex backing tracks giving their sound an epic, truly rich depth. This in turn is all synced with incredible lights, lasers, huge graphics screens-frequently pyro and presented in perfect 'harmony' as it was. Must be seen to be believed. They have always had a very special relationship with their audience and even in their earliest days were marvels of stage presence.

    Welcome to the Foxhole 🦊🤘🔥
It's always nice to see more reactors getting into this amazing group, they're a global phenomenon from Japan and trust me you have seen nothing yet.
Here's a brief info about this amazing group:
BabyMetal is a Japanese metal dance unit created in 2010 under another Jpop/Jrock group called Sakura Gakuin, they had 11 and 12 years old when started this and become independent after 2013, they created their own genre called kawaii-metal (kawaii means cute) mixing Jpop with metal sound and different subgenres along with many more rhythms. Their name is a reference to a new genre and not related to their ages or "baby" faces, is a pun intended play words with "heavy-metal" which sounds similar to "baby-metal".
    They are:
    *SuMetal* lead vocalist, now 26.
*MoaMetal* scream and dance, now 24, next month is her birthday.
*MomoMetal* scream and dance, she's 21 and is the new official member since April 1st last year.
-YuiMetal- scream and dance, former member since 2018.
    None of them are related.
After 2018 you'll see backup dancers performing along with them but none of them are official members, they don't sing, only dance, but that status change recently like i said.
There's no other group like them around and teaming up with this group from Germany just elevated them even higher.
If you like Jpop and edm elements then you're gonna find a lot of cool songs blended with heavy metal in their latest album "The Other One" released last year. Songs like Divine Attack - Shingeki, METALIZM, Time Wave and Light and Darkness among other great songs as well tracks and live performance from early era will make you bounce and rock with this insane group.
This single reached Number 1 best selling song in the US Billboard rock/metal chart for the first time for both bands!
Last weekend of May they did the live premiere of this song in Japan at FOX_FEST (a festival held by BM) and everyone went wild with this collab, the live version is already out if you don't wanna stop enjoying this song. They played this together once again at Rock Am Ring and the day before at Rock Im Park in Germany twice in the same day, one during EC show and later at BM show. They're rocking out the Europe Tour with festival and headlining live shows singing this song but without EC for the moment.
The girl in the middle is the lead singer SuMetal and she actually dance less than the other girls (MoaMetal and MomoMetal) because she sings most of the time but regardless she can dance and sing and you won't even notice she's out of breath.
    About this song:
This was filmed in Germany and the concept of the MV is they're breaking boundaries with the genres and they don't care about corporation decisions.
The "hips don't lie" is definitely a Shakira reference.
The "Fu Fu" (or more like "wu-uh wu-uh") part sounds like Backstreet Boys - Everybody female backing chorus but it's also used in Japanese karaoke.
The "push it to the limit" line it could be an homage to Scarface's movie, another post disco, dance rock song with some guitar elements.
The moment when they're bursting the wall is another homage to Aerosmith x Run DMC - Walk This Way MV, symbolism of breaking the boundaries with the music genres like I already said.
Also one of the singers is holding up the cable with electricity during the breakdown it could be a reference to "The Cable Guy" movie.
When I heard the official audio I thought the second "Are you ready?" chorus was MomoMetal doing the backing growling but they didn't show that in the MV, although later fans spotted in the live performance, so it was her after all as well in the third chorus when singing "Everybody".
There's probably more references but I'm a little bit far away from pop culture nowadays that I'm probably missing a lot more.
Fun fact: EC said in a reactor comment and later at their own reaction video that they did the bursting the walls scene in one shot, there will be a bts so we're waiting for more.
The crew had to put all those disco ball on the celling manually just for this song.
They met each other last year when BM went to see EC live in Boston and they asked them to work together, this is a 50/50 collab song.
    Next suggestion:
    - Road Of Resistance live in Japan official MV (2015).
I'm gonna leave in my next comment where to get more proshot clips safe to react if YT allows me to do it.
I'm not an EC fan but I've heard from many reactors complaining with the copyright blocked so take some precautions.
In the other hand latest BM songs are not getting blocked trouble except for this collab which is under Sony and that's why is getting some blocked for some reactors.
    See you next time 🦊🤘🐭

Here's the list of live performance clips usually safe to reacts without any filters so you won't need to rely on live compilations, there might be some exceptions:
      - Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!! live at Legend 1997, SuMetal 16th Birthday in 2013, they got MV of this and is fun, but live is a blast.
      czcams.com/video/LNFiDWJh2FA/video.html
      - Akatsuki, live at Budokan 2014, this is a SuMetal solo.
      czcams.com/video/g2372C5PJLM/video.html
      - Megitsune, official MV is my first recommendation but is usually blocked if you don't put filters, so if you want live and safe to react, check it out Budokan 2014.
      czcams.com/video/dU38CYkpBvI/video.html
      - Akatsuki Unfinished Version, SuMetal solo again but with only a piano behind special performance at Legend 1997.
      czcams.com/video/nwsinmxTxbo/video.html
      - Babymetal Death, live at Legend 1997, this is the big finale, you're gonna blow your mind with this one.
      czcams.com/video/jRc9dbgiBPI/video.html
      - Catch Me If You Can with Kami Band intro live at Budokan 2014.
      czcams.com/video/ng8U_j0gpLI/video.html
      - Ijime, Dame, Zettai live at Sonisphere Festival 2014, sometimes the official live MV isn't so friendly so you know what to do.
      czcams.com/video/Ro-_cbfdrYE/video.html
      - Rondo Of Nightmare, with Mischiefs Of Metal Gods Intro live at Budokan 2014, another SuMetal solo but way different than usual happy songs.
      czcams.com/video/8WBDiLMNZcE/video.html
      - Doki Doki Morning, official MV, their very first song and MV full of kawaiiness, usually is safe to react so try it, if you want a live performance, this is the first proshot version with the Kami Band live at Legend 1999 (YuiMetal and MoaMetal 14th birthday).
      czcams.com/video/BSjv9OYtWZ0/video.html
      - Uki Uki Midnight, this one is a follow up to Doki Doki Morning but way different sound, this is the PV, is super fun but the sound isn't so great but at least is live.
      czcams.com/video/Yj-UQIlqsIQ/video.html
If you want better sound with the Kami Band, then live at Budokan 2014 it is.
      czcams.com/video/ESzY9dL613Q/video.html
      - Onedari Daisakusen, live at Legend 1997, this is a Black Babymetal song, is a subgroup with only YuiMetal and MoaMetal.
      czcams.com/video/1dT1ywYR5So/video.html
      - Iine! again official MV hits way better but if you want live, here live at Budokan 2014.
      czcams.com/video/5sCvYVNeD0w/video.html
      - Karate live at Download Festival 2016, "kitsune6001" got this with a short interview intro.
      czcams.com/video/FKOL6v3Md2c/video.html
      - Road Of Resistance live in Japan official live MV, be careful with the blocked by putting some filters just in case.
      czcams.com/video/zTEYUFgLveY/video.htmlsi=BsVOSExS25Qndy1H
      - Kimi To Anime Ga Mitai - Answer For Animation With You, live at Budokan 2014, not sure if it's still safe, so try some filters, if is audio blocked try to mute or just cut the parts.
      czcams.com/video/M8FKumvh-w8/video.html
Here's a song you can find at Babymetal Reactor Resource (BMRR), a helpful place to get watermarked logo clips of the original live version to curve the annoying algo.
      - GJ! live at Wembley Arena 2016, another Black Babymetal song.
      czcams.com/video/Hg0Rylcg8F0/video.html
This is BMRR short vid to follow instructions and get the spreadsheet with the full list.
      czcams.com/video/q40VmTHSh4c/video.html
And here's a BM guide (the long one).
      czcams.com/video/aIb2xEthdSg/video.htmlsi=EnEYU4nN3tuiY3WL
There's a beginners guide at "Briaghh" called "So... What is BabyMetal?" is more short and with some fair update until last year unlike the other one with full updates till this year.

To get a better what Electric Callboy do usually check out "We got the moves" (most viewed video) and "Hypa, Hypa" (first success with their new vocalist Nico back in 2020)
Electric Callboy don't care about genres, and like to mix EDM, Metal, pop and sometimes German schlager. And they like to have fun. There is a lot of humor, despite having also serious songs, in their videos now and brought the fun to Baby Metal. In all live performances where both were together on stage they both had a ton of fun.

Me personally I would recommend Road of Resistance (LIVE) and Karate from BABYMETAL, and We Got the Moves, Arrow of Love, and Mindreader by Electric Callboy. There is also a song called Hypa Hypa by Electric Callboy that they curiously decided to work with about 8 different artists to do covers in various styles, everything from rap to country, which might not be great for a video but I think as a band teacher you would appreciate how well the song fits into so many different genres

BabyMetal are musically one of the heaviest groups out there. They contrast this with the kawaii vocals and choreography which have always been part of their style since they started in 2010 when Su was12 and Yui & Moa 11; yes really.
For a recent example of their style I'd suggest Monochrome live at PIA Arena 2023 or for older maybe the lives of Headbanger, Catch Me If You Can and Rondo Of Nightmare from the mid 2010s or the official MV for Megitsune..
If you're interested in their background and history then the Not So Extensive Guide To BabyMetal from April 2024 is a good place to start. I should warn you though that once you start to watch them you may find yourself falling down the foxhole like so many others 🦊

Yeah, EC does a lot of this fun blend of electronic music, with some pop elements, and a lot of metal mixed in. The videos are mostly funny and well worth a watch :)
Lately, they've been leaning even more into their dance-able heavy music side-which we've also seen with this song-since Nico joined in 2020 ("Hypa Hypa" really set the mood for this new era!).
But they also have all the same elements in other songs which are more serious, which are also worth a listen (Hate/Love was the second drop with Nico and instantly set a counterpoint to the over-the-top silliness. But they do both very well).
I bet you'll get a lot of suggestions on where to go from here with these guys - I'd say start with Hypa Hypa, We Got the Moves, and Tekkno Train to keep up the fun, and then go to some more serious songs like Mindreader or Parasite. All from the latest Album :)
But there's a lot to discover!

If you go down the Electric Callboy rabbit hole - I'm going to make the suggestion that you listen to the song first without watching the video. The reason I say that is because their videos are always fantastic and sometimes can be distracting, and you miss just how great musically they are.

i have to comment to recommend some of my favourite electric callboy songs, as a fellow german metal enjoyer :))
i think their most popular/recognizable song is probably either We Got The Moves or Hypa Hypa, i personally also LOVE their cover of the Everytime We Touch dance song from the 90s (that is already a cover). And then we have their song Tekkno Train which has the very funny "choochoochoochoo" breakdown :D these are all from their 2022 album "Tekkno". Another song i love thats from an earlier album and as such with a different clean singer is "Mc Thunder" as well as "MC Thunder II", they really really rock!!
also, ALL of these songs i mentioned have wonderful music videos that are also i think all of them directed bc the Schillo Bros., which are the rhythm guitarist of EC and his brother. i can highly, HIGHLY recommend checking all of these songs out. honestly the whole Tekkno album is brilliant and almost every song has a video at this point i think!

The overall style for this song is more Electric Callboy, despite the idea and impetus for the collab coming from Babymetal. Thats because Babymetal were trying to do a more upbeat and danceable track, in the Electric Callboy style, and were having trouble getting it to work, and so, reached out to EC. Babymetals style is all styles. Being Kawaii metal, which is a look and a vibe rather than a sound, they are free to embrace any particular musical style they like at any time.

BM is adept at a dizzying amount of metal subgenres. In fact, that's their calling card, along with being credited as the inventor of 'kawaii (cute) metal'.
Then again, BM was 'more cute than metal' only during their teenage days (roughly 2010-2017/8). Which was chokeful of brilliant songs & jawdropping live performances, nonetheless.
As they entered their 20s (2018/9 onwards), they became 'more metal than cute', i.e. still retaining their pop aesthetics, but also had genuine metal credibility (many legacy musicians defended them against snobs; rising bands befriended them & collaborated on songs). Performing live with the Kami band, they could crush out unmistakenably brutal headbangers like BxMxC & Divine Attack that are on par with Babymetal Death & Sis.Anger of their earlier era.
More admirably, they are willing to (furiously) explore different music styles as they grew older, after being influenced by their foreign peers on the road & at music festivals. So if you're a fan of, say, Ratatata (electronicore) which is merely one month old, immense yourself & have fun, because BM is already moving on with Brand New Day (prog metal) this past week. Same thing happened last year, when Metali (groove metal) in August was superseded by Kingslayer (metalcore) at NEXT FEST in November, & subsequently by Leave It All Behind (Thai rap/rock hybrid) in March.
Check out also their last two full albums (2019's Metal Galaxy & 2023's The Other One), which are stylistically different literally from song to song.
Performing their new & old repertoire live, the BM girls are now older (mid-20s), knew how to pace themselves better, have become very seasoned (they played almost 100 shows in 2023 alone), their music having a more polished sheen, etc. but they remain the best live act on the planet.

Thanks from Japan 有難う💛. (Just FYI, BABYMETAL performed "Brand New Day" with Scott and Tim from POLYPHIA, your favorite one, in the festival. That was beautiful and soothing. Please react to the live video in YT.)
I fortunately witnessed the live debut and the second performance of RATATATA by BABYMETAL and Electric Callboy together in the two-day Fox_Fest on May 25 / 26 in Japan. Fun, happy, exhilarating, bubbly... Those words I could think of, as you can imagine. There were many mosh / circle pits over there 😄. On Day-1, the girls and Nico / Kevin hugged each other (then group hug) to celebrate the success of the live debut (heartwarming!!) ★ You can find the official LIVE video in CZcams !!

This song is probably not the best intro to BabyMetal even though it’s good. There’s a real history to them that is quite fascinating. I’ve been following them ever since they started, and they were very, very young. 😊
BabyMetal live shows are an experience in themselves. Incredible productions and the audiences, especially in the Japan concerts, are off the scale!
This is definitely the summer party song for 2024!

A perfect start to get into deeper into the multi-style-high-energy-madness of Electric Callboy would be "We got the moves":
How many genres will be in this song?
    ECB: Yes!
    Döp Core
    Party Core
    Pigeon Core
    Gardening Core
    Bush Core
    Waterspraying Core

Babymetal == J-Pop/Metal fusion and Electric Callboy == EDM/MetalCore fusion. And it has been confirmed that one of the girls (MomoMetal) was contributing to the growling in the song as well.

Electric Callboy are a Metalcore/Electronicore band made of six Members. They were formed in 2010 in the city of Castrop-Rauxel in Germany under the name "Eskimo Callboy" and take themselves not too seriousLY. After they learned that the word "Eskimo" can be seen as a derogatory name for Inuit and Yupik people of the Arctic they changed their name by replacing "Eskimo" with "Electric". They tend to create hilarious music videos which are almost all produced by the Schillo brothers (Pascal Schillo, a guitarist of the band and his brother Oliver (not a band member) who own a video production company). Most of their songs are about partying and having a good time, but they have some more serious stuff in their catalogue also. They blend Metalcore with EDM, Techno, Pop, Disco and sometimes even Rap music which lead to their very unique style that their fans call "Partycore". There are two main vocalists in the band: Nico Sallach (clean vocals) and Kevin Ratajczak (harsh vocals). Nico prefers the clean singing with his amazing voice and Kevin is more into the harsh vocals but both can do both vocal styles and back each other up if needed. If you'd like to check them out I would recommend "Hypa Hypa" ,"We got the Moves", "Pump it", "Spaceman", Everytime we touch (Cascada cover) or "Tekkno Train". For the more serious songs it would be "Hate/Love", "Parasite" or "Mindreader" .

A great way to be introduced to both bands. Believe it or not, both were formed in 2010! You could make your channel completely on these two bands. However, BabyMetal is a Japanese group and their management company are savage with copyright for many reaction channels. Some can not even do an audio only reaction. I don't know much about Electric Callboy and copyright blocks. It will be down to luck of the draw, some channels get away with many BabyMetal video's and live show songs.

None of them id a dance group, but for Babymetal their dancing is essential. They were made to diversify zhe japanese metal industry and they originally were planned to get females into metal and then boys would follow. They made really a kind of metal that had significant female interest about 40% and they had a really diverse age from 5 to 85. But it didn't really confirm the simple calculatiobs that Koba originally had. They didn't attract children directly but a few teenagers
Childten ocvured when the teenagers got parents. And they listened to Babymezal and when these parents wants to visit Babymetal the kids want to come too. But by default Babymetall can andvwill go harder than Electric Callboy
. They were build to get through sny noise level metal instruments can produce. But Sus Voice goes through it like a hot knive goes through butter.

BM is just too K-pop for me here. Nothing like their earlier, and imho, better songs. This entire song to me just drips “let’s get the K-pop fans”. Nothing wrong with that, but not a song I like from them.

This song is straight up Eurobeat metal and sounds like Electric Callboy, a German electronicore band. If anything it sounds like something you would hear off Eurovision, not even remotely Korean. That's why this has been a massive hit in Europe, especially Germany.

The "K" in "K-Pop" stands for Korean. BABYMETAL are a Japanese group.
There's nothing K-Pop about this track, other than it also being danceable.

@@rickwagner- I’m fully aware of K-pop vs Japanese groups. To me it just seems this song mimics the K-pop genre. Nothing wrong in trying to expand your audience. Just to me not a good fit for them, but obviously thousands will disagree, lol.

    • @dnocturn84
      @dnocturn84 Před 3 dny +6

@@guygourley2411 It's actually more an Electric Callboy-style song. It's neither K-Pop nor J-Pop. Babymetal seemed to love "We got the Moves" by Electric Callboy, which is dance-able fun metal music, with losts of EDM. It is build on very pop-style (very European style-wise) hooks and results in catchy-ness. Babymetal wanted to create such a dance-able fun metal song for their own song collection, but ultimately ended up asking EC to do a coop. Yes, it's very soft on the metal side and reaches out far into pop music territory - but again, no J-Pop nor K-Pop for you here.
