I didn't know he wasn't Irish until I read this thread... My mind just imploded.
He still puts on too much of a 'leprechaun' inflection for me but it's decent.
This season four will bring much needed relief from quarantine, unfortunately I will binge watch and it will be over far too quickly,

I love how his character was done, instead of giving him a giant backstory, all of his characterization is shown onscreen by how he acts
In the books you do find out a bit of his life before being a slave! If your curious look it up but you may get unwanted spoilers....

@@aishashaikh5466 Definitely not. The finale was okay. But 'that' scene HURT. I didn't cry because it happened so suddenly, and was barely mentioned afterwards...but I did have to shut my laptop and walk away for a second. Couldn't have just let him live happily on a farm somewhere. RIP
The character writing seemed off in season 5 as well. Making some of the humor too modern, making it awkward for the period it's supposed to be set in. And even though I know they don't get together in the books, I was sad that Finan/Eadith didn't become more of a thing. I still like the series as a whole though.

As Lord Shaggy stated, Game of Thrones is brilliant, but seasons 7 and 8 were absolutely abysmal, and pretty much ruined every other season leading up to it.

@@SanjaySingh-yp3dh Exactly. I was kinda dissappointed in season 4, where things start to become so predictable. For example Beoccas death could be seen miles before it happened. And also that plot in battles where they come with a small army expecting to meet reinforcements but they are not there, then anticipating whether the reinforcements come or not, then they arrive at the last minute, has gotten very old and repetitive by now

I am such a fan of this show and cast. I'm typing this in 2022 after watching all of season 5, the very last season. I will really miss this show but the movie, "Seven Kings Must Die", will be out soon and I can (and will) re-watch the shows on Netflix whenever I need another fix. Wishing all of the best to the cast and crew. Thanks for an amazing 5-season run!

In fact I often found myself watching the show almost every night I’m that big of a fan:) I hope everyone on the cast and the people behind the camera aswell know how much they’re appreciated. If it weren’t for everyone coming together the show would not be. I love everyone and appreciate everything you guys do for producing such an amazing show :) I wish the best of luck to everyone in the future, you guys deserve it.

Finan is my 2nd favourite character on the show at the moment, after Uthred. Absolutely love him! The bond between Finan and Uthred is really beautifully shown in the show. Mark does a brilliant job portraying him.

Excellent cast, the dialogues, the jokes, the love drammas, the History. Definitly what a proud to belongs to a part of the world that has so rich History. Thousands o years. This serie is a hit. From time to time someone in the Entertaiment Industrie do it so well. And in these times Entertaiment is a relief from saddly news and events that will not stop for a long time. So like STAN LEE one Real Heroe from Entertaiment said: Entertaiment is one of the most important things in people’s lives. Without it, they might go off the deep end. I feel that if you’re able to entertain people, you’re doing a good thing.”

I watched the first few episodes over a year ago and was underwhelmed. Out of boredom, I fired it back up a few weeks ago...and proceeded to binge all the way through season 4 in about a week... Love the show.

Damn!!! these people have to damn much fun! This is the best series production since 24 and Breaking Bad. Every aspect of successful cinema is included in this series. Whoever did the casting is/are absolute geniuses. From what i can see from the fan base and interest, this should go for as long as Breaking Bad, hopefully.

I absolutely love the character of Finan. I like that he's both a sarcastic wise-ass but also very much the "mother hen" of the group.
Osferth is my second favorite, I really like that even after Osferth settles into the role of a warrior fighting beside Uhtred, he never loses that touch of innocence.

its crazy to me to think that pretty much this whole show was filmed when i was sound asleep on the other side of the world.
*spoiler* I loved Finan in the show. During the scene where he picks Uhtred back up after Father Beoccas death, I thought to myself wow, everyone needs a friend like Finan in their life!! 🥰 also, he added humor to the show especially during serious moments which was the best!
