The sermon gets recorded through the mics and a small mixer board into a recorder, and afterwards we use a bulk tape copier to make up to three copies at a time. They're for people who want to hear the sermons again or if anyone missed the previous services.

As others have said, I have used these tapes for many years, too. I have thought that they look very similar to TDK tapes of that era. So, I don't know if TDK manufactured them for Kingdom or not. While going through things in my garage during quarantine, I discovered boxes of church service recordings on these tapes. About 30 years later, the recordings hold up very well on them. No "sticky tape syndrome," or drops in sound quality.
After tapes, we went to CD-R recording and duplication. Now, I send an audio signal back to someone else who is running a video switcher connected to a Macintosh laptop running e-cam software streaming to CZcams. Oh my, how far we have come!

I am shocked they have screws. What was keeping cassette tapes in production was the US Prison market and the specs for those tapes require they be clear and the tapes have to be sonic welded shut. Basically we had some strange electronics made because of prisons including a speakerless clear RCA CRT TV made with a digital tuner. It only existed because they hadn't cleared Flat screens as safe for jail. Techmoan did a video on his American Prisoner tech collection.

Your videos are always so informative and entertaining. I had a box of 100 "duplicator" cassettes - came from a church - but these had shell warping issues and some of my early cassette recorders weren't strong enough to play them. Your tapes seem much better and sound great!
But the BEST part of your video was that song "New Jersey" at the end. I have never heard the like - it sounded like a hymn or anthem to a state! I've visited New Jersey many times, but never got the urge to move there like the folks singing this song! Advertising gone over the top - Amazing. Thanks for the fun video. I always look forward to your postings.

Exactly what I would expect for the audio quality from a new old stock (NOS) blank cassette tape! I have a similar experience with a Maxell UE Type I Tape that I bought 2 boxes of it, ALL SEALED, old new stock for around $20 or around 1000php. Good thing I have my 3 head tape deck and I got a similar output as yours, very decent sound quality. I didn't need to playback with Dolby NR after recording.
Good video VWestlife! More videos like this please... :)

Awesome find, it's nice to see there are companies still selling good quality standard cassette tapes, however my church live streams their Sunday service, funerals(if the family allows), and special events on YT with a simple 720p webcam/mic setup that captures the majority of the sanctuary in one shot, and has long since stopped recording it onto cassette tapes, VHS, or burning to DVD, however if you bring them a clean 32GB or 64GB flash drive they will put it on there for ya, as they back everything up on an offsite file storage server.

    Very interesting.
I am from Northern Ireland and I used to go to a Baptist Church as a child.
They had the exact same white coloured tapes which they used to record their services.
I also remember even back in 2004 going to a Christian event and I bought one of the tapes of the services that were recorded and guess what, the exact same white tape. I’ve been listening to a few of your videos of late and they are very interesting and very good. I love audio equipment myself. I am a person who is legally blind therefore I enjoy listening to a lot of audio dialogue and I love your narration of describing things. Keep up the good work.

I bought a few of these tapes here in Hungary in a local online auction a few years ago. They're meh. Sounds OK, but there are some dropouts. This Kingdom tape is seemingly better.
