Them Pro-Til tires look mighty hard. Lower PSI in the tire roll with more contact area on the ground and 'float' over the ground more better. Higher tire PSI has less ground contact and puts more pressure on the soil and digs in more faster. Learnt that from Matt's Off-road Recovery here on the Tube.

When pulling heavies out of bogs etc., if you feel the Pin/Tow Bar is not strong enough, you can loop your tow strap around the main centre body of the (3 point) linkage arm system. You may need a "SOFT D- Shackle" or similar to connect the strap. Anyway...........excellent documentaries of your farming life, thanks and cheers. John Purdy from South Australia. Mike why don't you think about this idea this winter . Hire a small contractor or get one of you staff trained to use a laser level and then spend the whole summer digging in 6 or 8 inch tiles to these slews and drain them somewhere downhill . Maybe take to summers and just keep going . Dig out an area in the middle where it is the wettest and put 1 inch drainage stone around the tile and it will drain .
These slews could be your best land once drained . And putting a tile in, would be a lot cheaper than buying land and going around them and getting stuck

    • @mikemitchell2554
      @mikemitchell2554  Pƙed 4 lety +1

đŸ€” The idea is good, but we would run into a few problems.. 1: There's not enough summers in my life time to complete that job 😂 2: To hire it out would cost miillons upon millions of upfront cash. 3: There are rules for some draining and its illegal in some areas, because neighbors would assume ur draining on to theirs and would report you. 4: I actually like some water laying out there, because water seems to help bring more water 💩 đŸ€”đŸ€·â€â™‚ïž 5: We are continually picking up more and more land, so the jobs never end. We try focus on the cleaning up the land first.. Such as weeds, fence lines, rock piles, pick the rocks, old buildings, and so and then focus on fertility and improving the soils.

Questions: On your "Stuck List" money pool, are there some units more prone to getting stuck? It's seems like the tillage setups would be more prone. So if they are more prone, do those operators get a "handy cap" in the pool, or do operators not enter the pool, or operators not want to run those units? Typically the low man on the totem poll get the not so fun jobs. Are they assigned to "always stuck" units?

Don't need top soil for a ripper
Plenty of rippers here in aus that just rips
      No turning over
      Ripping to 2ft deep
We've done nearly 2000ac of ripping and we only have about 3in of top soil
Really helps with water logging and root establishment as well as storing water for future seasons
But if the land is really flat as it appears to be then there's no natural rivers and valleys to drain the water than theyre still going to collect in the sloughs as theyre the natural drainage points
Then when you hit one instead of getting stuck occasionally you hit 2ft deep jelly and get stuck everytime
We learnt the hard way and dont rip low spots any more
Its a waste of land for sure but if you rip it its more of a waste cause instead of reduced yields you flat out cant get on it at all

Mike, this comment is for both you and your new bide...To be read while you both are together! Please.
Congratulations! Next is some advice or words of wisdom... (Take it with a grain of salt!) Then read it to both of your parents and your grandparents... Then ask them what they think of what I am about to say?
Take the next six to eight years and go out and enjoy each other before you start adding to your family! I gave been married for over 35 years and we have been together for over 36 years. I was the baby of my family. There is 11 and 13 years difference between me and my sister and brother who is the oldest. Growing up I use to listen to my mom and dad talk about how much better it was having me later on in life and how they wished they had waited to have kids... I took those words to heart. Me and my wife waited to have kids. It was the best thing we could have ever done! It gave us time to build our base together! We waited six years... I was in the United States Navy when she got pregnant. I had a very nice Naval career ahead of me or so I thought! I was hurt really bad just before a major change in my career was about to happen and it put everything on hold! I was involuntary medically separated from the Navy with a pregnant wife and no way to support her much less a new baby... it took 12 very hard years to get my 100% service connected because of the Veterans Administration... We have reared two sons. Sadly our youngest son was killed by a hit and run driver four years ago this month. He was twenty years old... less than a month from being 21...
My other suggestion/advice is do not let your children be injected with the poisons called vaccines! Do not take the flu shots either!
Why do I say this? It was the Anthrax vaccine for the first Gulf War that has caused me to become a permanently disabled Navy Veteran! The two year old vaccine had a major affect on our oldest son, he has Autism, high functioning...
Remember you chose each other and you have the chance to make a very wonderful live together! Marriage is what you make out of it! I told my wife when we decided to start seeing each other exclusively; If there comes a time when you find someone else you want more than me then just tell me and pack your stuff and go! I will do the same! If your not able to control your self don’t come home telling me you cheated on me because it will be to little to late! Once the trust is broken you can never get it back like it once was! So just leave and tell me your not happy and want a change. Do not tell me you cheated and want to stay because I will not want to hear it! We agreed to the terms...
Marriage is hard enough to make work as it is! You have to have the base, solid rock to build the base upon or it will never work! You need the time to get use to each other and I am not talking about just living together before you tied the knot! When you say those magical words, “I DO” it changes things! For the better or for the worse it always changes! One last thing, *No Hitting each other! If you can’t LOVE and RESPECT ONE ANOTHER ENOUGH NOT TO LAY HANDS ON THE OTHER, LEAVE!*
I wish both of you a very long-standing wonderful future and loving family together!
I hope this made sense? I have to take pain medications and they affect my thought process... (advice is like buttholes! Everyone has one and most stink!) Even after being washed!
    Best of luck!
    NoMerc
I use a nickname because of what I did in the Navy... NoMerc is short for NoMercy... There are no pictures of me on the Internet. I do not have the other popular social media stuff... I do own the NoMerc com domain but since the death of our son, I no longer have anything on it.
