8:25 the reason you entered the odyssey was because of the rear entrance. You can crouch on the largest exhaust pipe directly behind the door to enter the odyssey. Apparently they forgot to remove that in the cascade model of the destroyed odyssey. There is another secret entrance. It is located on top of the odyssey, and it is a circle with a star-shaped pattern in the middle. Ground pound on it to enter the odyssey. Hope you found these things interesting!
Also, apparently that pipe is treated as a pipe proper, because ground-pounding on it loads the Odyssey with the same speed and sound effect that ground-pounding into a normal pipe produces.
i dont know how it makes sense that you can go into the odyssey just by going into the exhaust pipe cuz its the shape of a pipe at the top but at the bottom its tiny

I love games that work 100% as intended in a normal playthrough, but have so many glitches and breaks that can be exploited while speedrunning or just goofing around. Glitches and unintended mechanics are what make speedruns so damn interesting as opposed to playing the normal game but faster. Sadly games are becoming less breakable these days like they did back on the N64, but Super Mario Odyssey is a beautiful exception to this and I love it.

The slo mo in wooded would technically give you more reaction time in slow motion.
Not TAS level, but some glitches in wooded might be easier if they're close enough for the game to render the rocks.
Nah, not really. It's not lag per se, but rather the game repeatedly freezing the game for a sort of "hitstun" effect every time the rocks hit each other. And if you try to press something during one of those freezes, the game will just eat your inputs. Which definitely cancels out any sort of benefit you'd get from having the game running more slowly.
Literally just no, there is zero way that could be helpful for anything.

45:26 I remember trying to use this with the R to do the jump rope glitch and I accidentally shot it out of bounds. It was a great hyperspeed trek in the skybox before the game said “Hey, he’s out of bounds! That’s not supposed to happen!”
i absolutely love when games are programmed like this. most people are never going to run into any glitches at all when playing casually. but if you want to do fun out of bounds glitches and clip through walls and break the game you can
Well the glitches weren’t intentional but the game was polished so well that the ones that do exist are rare enough where almost no one would ever run into it while playing normally. Of course unfortunately Nintendo still does patch some of these glitches that are used for speed running but don’t affect average play which causes pains for speed runners
Breath of the wild is very similar in that way :) however…. The Pokémon gen 4 remakes, oooh boy
@@strategygaming5830 What did they patch exactly? I'm not quite up to speed on everything. I remember they patch a bunch of surface-clips when Balloon World came out, which probably was an attempt to minimize the amount of glitched balloons one encounters. But outside of that?
And the imo most incredible thing about the game's polish is that it handles the glitches that happen so well. Like the whole kingdom skips and sequence breaks that MinCap speedruns do all have the potential to hard-crash the game or corrupt save-data, but it just doesn't care. It's just like: "Sure you can have 20 moons when first entering Night Metro, I don't see anything wrong with that, I will even let you dump them and leave without clearing the boss. And you also leave Cascade without breaking the rock surrounding the First Moon and without beating the boss, well why the heck not, I will even restore the kingdom to a perfectly playable state when you return (though the boss won'tbe there anymore), but don't you dare take that backwards painting you just miraculously reached. But I even have a special dialog for for the empty frame I gave you instead, even though you were never supposed to see those." It's just hilarious every time I think about it, you can do the most game-breaking stuff and the game is just like "Sure, whatever you say fam". Even for that literal glitch showcase we saw, the amount of crashes was insanely low.
Halo 1-3 are made like that. Favorite part of the games tbh. Fuck beating the campaign, I wanna explore barren wastelands and sequence break.

It's the big exhaust pipe behind the Odyssey and going down that pipe actually drops you into the Odyssey like shown in the video. So this pipe entrance is actually intended for the Odyssey and not some artifact. There exists a similar hidden entrance on the roof of the Odyssey where a Groundpound spot is marked which flips a part of the roof and drops you inside.

I discovered a trick where the game is softlock.
It happend in bowser kingdom. If you go on a roof (i don't remember which one but it has a rocket flower on it), take a rocket flower and aim à pole with à certain angle, Mario hang on the pole, but he's 2m beside. Now, you can't move, jump, or pause the game, only restart it. This is a cool bug

I remember doing the night day glitch on my first play through of odyssey back in 2017. I had no idea what was happening because I just went up to talkatoo to get a hint while messing around in the city, and the camera froze. My curious mind went to new donk hall and there i was in nightday metero kingdom. Good memories that moment in the video gave me because I spent a solid hour goofing off while I was in the glitch!

A few years ago, before the talkatoo glitch was patched, I discovered a way to get Mario to walk without the walking animation. Perform the talkatoo glitch as usual, and after scrolling through his text, groundpound and after hitting the ground, throw Cappy so he down throws without motion controls. It should work but I haven’t pulled it off in a few years.
