The fact that Griffith crying and Guts playing with his son were some of the last things Miura drew is just... wow....

@@reduniverse796 Because Griffith used the Demon Child (Casca's and Guts' son, who was corrupted by Femto after he raped Casca) to have a new body in the normal world. It seems like every full moon, their son takes over Griffith's new body to spend time with his parents, that's why he became Griffith again, and the reason he's crying is because the Boy can't spend more time with his parents

I completely lost it when guts played knights with his boy. He spent the past years fighting for his life, that he can finally play around with his child was just a great scene to include. It also makes the last panel so unbearably painful

The fact he plays knight with his child kind of in the same way Gambino trained him in swordfighting as a kid

For anyone interested in why Guts has white hair after exiting the berserker armor, it sounds like canities subita. A condition that effects hair pigment, making turn white after a traumatic or stressful event

Putting on the berserker armor is a stressful event to say the absolute least.
It may have ended in a cliffhanger but think of this.
Guts and Casca got a moment of peace, Casca regained her sanity, they even got to have a family and friends again.
And Griffith, while not paying for his crimes the way we would've liked to see, the fact that he still has feelings for Guts and Casca is in itself a form of punishment because he did EVERYTHING wrong to achieve his dream and never be burdened by emotion or attachments to anyone ever again, and it was all for NOTHING because he will never be forgiven by the 2 people that actually meant something to him, he is a god, he rules over Falconia, he has everything he ever dreamed, all the power in the world, and it gave him no joy, satisfaction or closure in the end because the only man he ever loved and the only woman who ever loved him for who he was, are not there with him, and they will never be with him becauase of everything he did to them.
This is also punishment for Guts. He's already opening his heart to the child and boom, the child turns out to be his very hatred, the subject of his vengeance. I mean, just let the guy have a normal family.

Miura made all this amazingly written build up and I could tell all hell was about to break loose, especially with Rickert leaving Falconia by chance and Skull Knight having played into the God Hand’s favor by initiating Fantasia, at least from Femto’s point of view. I could tell that either something like an Armageddon level battle or a massacre and feast of all humanity was near, or atleast a reveal of the plans and nature of the demons/apostles/Godhand/fantasy creatures

I read the last chapter with Guts Theme on loop, I was tearing up almost every second. Last page made me really start getting the waterworks.

Guts is in a sense, like many of us who weren't born into wealthy or even middle income families having to go against the tide of social injustices and work harder than those born with all the comodities. Working a sweat and hurting ourselves at work from all the exhaustion and extra energy we have to give just to achieve those basic necessities. Even in this day and age, you have people who are given the opportunities to become youtubers and make a name on social media because they were afforded the wealth, material, resources, and technology, even a bedroom and their own privacy is a huge advantage, being honest. Many have to sleep in the living room sofa during most of their youth, or share a small room with many more siblings and never have the chance at freedom of expression until adult hood and to express and practice their true talents and build their goals.
So Guts is an inspiration to all those who really have a life like his. To not give up and fight against adversity, discrimination, social injustice and those who wish to step over the rest and only succeed while watching the rest suffer. Those odds can be overcome and your goals can be achieved if you work harder than the rest, and you endure more than the rest.
The most saddest thing that happens to us lover of anime/mangas.R.I.P Kentarou Miura.Nothing will replace the empty that Berserk left us in our lives.

I literally just read the last chapter just like this with, Guts song man... i don’t even know what do anymore i can’t accept it i just can’t.
I believe this to be the ending because there is just so much going on, so many things wrapped and closed and discussed in just one chapter. Miura didn’t intend this to be the ending but it had tobe unfortunately or it would have never been done by him. So many references and allegories to Guts and Miuras journey. They are tired and not the same, and it seems they know have other things to look into and care more about than a selfish pursuit. How Miura felt about having to end it here. I felt Miuras spirit speaking through Griffith in the last panels. I hope this is truly the ending and is respected if he did in fact leave no more notes or plans behind. I understand it is a cliffhanger but it just feels like the type that is the end, that just leaves you thinking, feeling.

The thing is, I started reading about a month ago. The website where I read it said there are 402 chapters. This one was labelled as 381. Not sure why, but nevertheless, I thought Chapter 402 will be the last chapter, since i already knew Miura passed away last year. It hit me like a truck, when I realized this is actually the last one. If I knew I could've prepared myself.
Now I know how people felt when they read this the first time it got released.
As a big one piece fan, I'm geniunly scared Ods could also die before he ends the Story, and one piece has a way bigger world and way more mysteries.
I don't know how many unanswered questions I have to this masterpiece, but god damm it hurts knowing this is the end.

Still a bit up in the air. The last chapter the author worked on was just released, so it could be the last. His editors may continue the story, but no one is sure yet on how much the remaining story was completed.

In this world is the destiny of mankind controlled by some transidental entity or law is it like the hand of God hovering above at least it is true that man has no control not even over his own will. No Miura created a world all his own free from the beauty's and horrors of real life but not with out beauty's and horrors of its very own truly a masterpiece the series may have been cut short with his passing, but I believe his final work has made a fine finally.
