If anyone else was wondering, it is not actually made from calf skin, it's a synthetic material.
Sounds good :)
cheers for that, I didn't know :-)
thankfully
Seriously though dude, you've got the best sounding kit on youtube
Dude! Thanks so much!
I recently purchased a Pacific Limited Edition 7 1/2 x 14" maple/walnut snare drum. Shortly after I purchased it I replaced the OEM batter head with an Evans '56 Calftone head. The difference was immediate. Not that the drum did not sound good with the supplied batter head, but I wanted to 'warm it up' a bit and give it a bit more depth which the Evans head did. I used to use Remo Fiberskyn heads and found that they have a tendency for the top layer to delaminate a bit with aging. So I tried the Evans Calftone heads and they give much the same effect but so far they seem to hold up better. I have found the 'faux calfskin' heads to have sort of a built-in 'dampening effect' much the same as putting a small piece of dampening material such as 'moongel' or duct tape on the head to cut down on excess ring or overtones. If that's what you want the synthetic calfskin-style heads may not be to your liking, but for my style of playing (jazz, blues, church praise band) the Evans Calftone heads work out well for me.
That snare makes me cry. Sounds HUGE.
Bahah!
Sounds great but hard to know if it is the head or the drum...
hahaha both bro
I recently uploaded a video with this on my Instagram playing a typical single play 10mil head!

Oh man - sounds killer 😎👌
Nice ring. lovely tuning. thanks Aaron!
Thanks so much :)
great sounding head wow., great chops too man!
sounds good
sounds great. I preferred the higher tuning.
Heads like that are designed for the higher tunings. Listen to a lot of Jazz records, or your old Funk bands. Their drummers used these types of heads back in the day.
What's the snappy of that snare drum?
That snare is killer, im thinking of buying a 13x7, was it complicated to make it ship to canada ?
The coating on my calftone snare is starting to bubble and separate from the mylar. I may have to contact them
Do I spy some Vater Buzz Kills on the snare and the left-side crash?
Good eye! Those are actually by a company called Drum Dots! Same idea though!
What veneer is that on your SQ2s? Love your drumming man
Stratawood!
Oh wow, is Sabian offering those 16" Vanguard Hats or are they custom ordered? I think I'm in love!
They're custom, BUT! They'd totally make you a pair if you asked nice ;)
That's a sexy snare.
Thanks so much man! I really love this one!
What snare drum are you using?? It looks awesome! :D
Thanks man! That's an Entity Workshop 13x8 Jarrah Stave! (12mm)
I know it must have been said lot of times, but can´t resist the obvious comparison with vaas montenegro...by the way, the drumhead sound great
Lmao I get that all the time when I rock the mohawk lol
I was interested by that snare and kick. Not the head. XD
Lmao! They're eye catchers, that's for sure! ;)
