How to remap keys on ANY KEYBOARD | Windows 10 / 11

- Got a new keyboard, or just having to use another one temporarily, but it has a strange layout? Well, with this simple tool you can remap one or more keys to other keys on a keyboard. Missing keys you usually use? Replace ones you don't! This was useful for me with my spare keyboard that has an oddly placed Alt key.
NOTE: This isn't changing the layout region or anything like that. This is one or more keys to another of your choice.

Abosolute legend. I had scroll lock key not working randomly which turns on and off the lights in the keyboard. I was scared to open the keyboard up to clean under the key cos I have experience completely breaking a keyboard in the past trying to do that. Can't express how thankful I am to you for making this video and also to the creator of the software.
what should be the mapping id for control key?
@@notinrange No need to find any id's if you are using the same app as in the video. Once you click add, Then click "type key" button and then press ur control key. The app will automatically set correct key code.
@Ravi Varujana I used it on windows 11 and it worked just fine. Make sure you properly follow the steps in the video.
@Ravi Varujana Well, Maybe you could try another software like this one which might work for you.
@Ravi Varujana Maybe try clearing the registery changes you have done with the software and try again, if that doesnt work then idk.

Love this! I bought a replacement keyboard at Amazon since the backspace of my Lenovo laptop is not working anymore. The replacement keyboard have a very low quality so I ended up keeping the original with this hack. Thank you so much! Time to return the replacement keyboard now and get my money back.

Will it be possible in the future to have two different key profiles? I personally would like to be able to switch between certain profiles as I feel this would add lots of possibilities.
In my personal case I have a 60 percent keyboard and a loose calculator that are both hooked up to my pc. The top row on the calculator is useless to me, so i'd like to make media controlls of them, which i've done. But if it were possible to switch profiles, I would be able to switch from the volume up and volume down buttons, to and from the previous song and next song buttons.
If this has already been implemented, please inform me how. If not please do consider, thank you very much for your helpfull program.

Thank you so much man. My laptops' keys are messed up. The arrow keys, "G" and "H" aren't working. Had to remap them to the numpad, replacing 4,5,6,7,8 and 9. A nice workaround before I replace the keyboard.

which one is the escape key I dont have an escape key because it broke so i cant type it in

can you remap something like control + z which is the function for undo. I would like to use a different keyboard layout and keep all the same functions on the same key locations.
thank you so much! I remapped § to esc and esc to § so I don't need to press fn for esc. (I have a 60% keyboard)
on my 60% my ~ is my esc but it doesn’t work as esc
I wanted to replace the Pause key with the Delete key on the HP Omen 15 because it's the preferred layout and was concerned with having to deal with it but thank you so much!

You can do this with the PowerKeys' Keyboard Manager btw
So, what are the caveats of this method?
From the way it does things, I see that this method involved changing the registry.
So I my assumptions that by applying this method will mean :
1. The setting would stick to the system itself instead of the keyboards,
2. I had to redo the method all over again if I used the same keyboard on a different computers
3. If I ever use a different keyboard to the computer that its settings changed by this app, the current setting will stick to the current keyboard.
Is that right? Are there any more caveats to this?

I know this is like 2 years ago now but does the remapped keys save on the external keyboard. i.e. if external keyboard is connected to a different laptop/computer will it retain the remapped keys.

this helped so much, my keyboard randomly decided that pressing backspace now registers as delete instead (meaning it deletes the key on the right side of the cursed instead of the left)

Is there anyway to make a key on the keyboard act as a click or double on the mouse? I have arthritis and playing games on the computer can be painful after having left clicked a hundred times. I was wanting to change the ~ button to the left click mouse button,
