i did
with a small amount of headscratching, got good use out of this. Old IT experience helped. The "From" scan code was a 2-byte value so had to swap it round when entering. Thanks buddy for a useful & light-hearted video w/o the usual BS

is it possible to remap exiting combination or to actually create a new combination of keys?
So my issue is that everytime I hit the backspace key, it doesn't backspace but instead plays a command that automatically types out something I said. I think I may have accidentally reset the key to instead perform a different action instead of actually backspace. Any way to fix this?

I'd like to switch my Fn key to my control which is right next to it on my laptop keyboard but I can't do it cause it says I gotta do 45+ but it won't let me. Also, even when I write 6C for the Ctrl it counts as a lower case L instead. How do I solve this?

Could i use this to make a US layout keyboard into close to fully optimized Nordic layout?
Am asking this because there are very few key custom key cap sites that offer a Nordic layout set for what i want. And as the "Enter" and "left shift" keys are slightly altered on a US board compaired to a Nordic, i will still need to buy a US board just for those 2 small differences. The only downside i see this has is that i will be missing my bottom left "

I found this vid that uses a firstparty microsoft program to easly remap your whole keyboard on the fly. I think i can achieve my goal with this method.

The 2 keys that are physically different will just have to get remapped to some other remaining keys. I will not be useing my keyboard for any programming or anything that requires me to have full functionallity of a nordic layout. And worst case, if i ever need a sign or letter, i can easly add a hotkey for it.

In the chart it says a + at the end of the code to remap KP keys. Do you have to add this in the binary value as a third symbol?

Is it possible to map a keyboard key to a controller button? For example making “K” function as the “Square” button on a PS4 controller? I’m trying to implement a foot pedal while using a controller but don’t want the inputs to change from controller to KBM in game every time

When I put the binary code for the scancode map in the registry editor, I had to do it in reverse to get it to work. I don't know if this is irregular, but I had to input the value for the key I was trying to remap first & then the key I was trying to remap TO afterwards.
Either way, it was easy to find out & thank you for showing me the easiest way to be able to write stories without having to deal with my busted U key! =D

Thanks for this! So I want to map the right arrow key to the caps lock button. But how would you access the right arrow? Do you know if the right arrow key is "6 right KP", or "Right CP"? And is the code for "Right CP" E0, or 4D? Or is it 4D* ? I am a bit confused there.. thanks

Can I use this to add/assign multimedia keys to function keys? Since downloading thirdparty software is restricted in my company laptop.
My F2 button is disabled in windows (in bios it works). It do nothing and when i try to remap it in sharpkeys it shows me that this button is disabled. I already tried 3 keyboard and it didnt work. Pls help me. thx

What would be the scancode value for Alt Gr?? Would it be E038? How do I type it if i want to replace it with r key 11 00 E0 38, or 11 E0 38 00....?

I have failed to swap SPACE BAR with RIGHT ALT or RIGHT CTRL......Every tims i enter E0 1D or E0 38.....it doesnt work.....my space bar is faulty so i wanna swap it with any of the 2 buttons

When I click on Keyboard Layout...no way can I get it to bring up a "NEW", LOL! I have remapped with SharpKeys, and Keytweak. They all say "saved to registry". I reboot up, and it hasn't changed. I am typing this and pasting the "s", which is the key that does NOT work!!!!! ANY HINTs besides a new laptop keyboard?

I kinda understand here "we can only SWAP" keys to other already existing keys, but
can we use this method to Reassign symbols to keys that are not frequently used?
let's say, for writing symbols like question mark or doublequotes (which are super frecuently used) we need to press Shift + something else. but what if we could just reassign some of those "never used" keys to just press one time, one key and get certain symbols with one hit? 😯

I used it (succesfully) to change one key(W to #8 of numbpad), but I have to change a second key (R to #5 of numbpad), and did it in the same file and didnt work, do I have to create a second Scancode Map file? how do I name it? or can I do it in the same file? if so, how? do I have to put something else instead of the "02" in the second key o something?... I tried separating both codes by one line of 00's, and then two lines of 00's, none worked

First I’d undo all your changes by deleting the binary code that you added to remap the keys, then restart
After you’ve restarted and your keyboard is back to normal I’d follow the tutorial:

I tried to do this and it worked but i got an error when trying to open software, “Can’t open this item. It might have been moved, renamed, or deleted" It hella bugged out my Taskbar and my software icons excluding folders and i don’t know what to do :(
Edit: So i deleted the thing and everything went back to normal. I think I’ll just get a third-party though, i don’t wanna mess with my files

Hi dude 3 of my keys don't work and the problem is that you can only make one file named scancode map if you try to name another file scan code map is gonna give you an error saying it's not possible
