Used to hate Darren bent being a Newcastle fan but these two have the best segment on talksport by a mile.
The problem is that the fortress has now been breached and every club that Liverpool will now face is aware of what is possible. Even if the opponent goes two goals down, they will not simply fall into submission because they know what is possible against this team. Add to that how demoralized the Liverpool players must feel after a shock loss like that and you can imagine that every game from here on out with be even more difficult than before.
Anyone thinking this Liverpool team can go to the bernabeu and score 3 or 4 AND keep a clean sheet is delusional
If Konate is injured play Philips instead of Gomez at the very least.

The one big advantage that Arsenal have is that they are not in the Champions league this season so they cannot be blown to smithereens by one of Europe's elite. It can be an absolute body blow to get brought down to earth by the likes of Madrid, bayern, etc, and can destroy your confidence for the rest of the season. I've seen it happen countless times with Arsenal over the years. Fingers crossed!!
They have Europa though and can still meet Juve, United, Roma etc and get blown.

We've historically seen a number of clubs be in the ascendancy for a while and then things inevitably change for a variety of reasons. Look at Manchester United, Leeds United, Nottingham Forest.
I’m a United fan but I do have genuine sympathy for Klopp, he has an aging midfield and Klopp needs around £500M plus to rejuvenate the side and are the owners really going to give Klopp or any manager that kind of money. Klopp hinted at this earlier in the season about being able to compete financially with the likes of city.

You are right, Bent. Liverpool's only hope for this season was to qualify for the Champions League the next year.
In 2020-21, after an early exits in FA Cup, League Cup, and the Champions League, they still managed to finish third because they are focused on the Premier League.
Just to point out, that team was still not so bad because of Sadio Mane. I'm not sure for this season cause their defences were so weak.
Arsenal with Arsene Wenger had an underachieving campaigns, only finishing fourth in multiple occasions after their disappointment in competitions other than Premier League.
Darren is having a laugh, Real Madrid was missing Tchou, Kroos didn't start & was last minute cause he was ill. The full backs is the only worry but if the team works together, they can handle it... I think that in the next leg, Real Madrid will be more settled. Though, they might be tired cause they face Barca in Del Rey semis twice & ATM on weekend.

There shouldn’t be much surprise over the result. We have conceded so many chances every match. The good teams will take advantage of that. RM were clinical, most teams would have beaten us if they could hit the target with those big chances. Looks like the lads just aren’t going the extra mile for each other. We play against defenses that always work for each other. Where’s that gone for us😔😔😔

In 2005 Liverpool were three behind at half time. They went on to draw the game at full-time and ultimately won it on penalties. This time they have 90 minutes to do it. I agree if liverpool buy two midfielders and a center half BUT all 3 need to be world class . If we do sign a world class cb , vvd for the first time will have real competition for his position , so that might push him to get back to his high standards otherwise he’s warming the bench .

Just forget the 2nd leg at the Bernabeu and send the reserve squad to give some well needed rest for the starters. The only thing which is stunning was first 20 minutes, rest all same old donkey story which we have been seeing from pre-season. I honestly dont want liverpool to qualify for champions league or europa next year as we dont deserve. We need throw old mid field and defenders out including trent who thinks of attacking and has 0 defense capabilities. He cannot play in midfield as well as he doesnt have pace nor the knowhow of defending again. He needs to put into rigourous defending training scheme so that he can revive his career here else he can leave liverpool. We need 3 first team mids, 3 first defenders including a rb, and 3 backup mids and 3 backup defenders. If fermino leaves then get a backup for him. This club will get relegated if they dont do this.
