Honestly can't even recognize this as Honkai Impact any more. Story wise this feels like a completely different game. Edit: ok apparently the other response comments I put did not get uploaded so I will put this here. When did I say, that old was better? All I said was that the premise that originally drew me in was gone. I started playing due to getting an ad of Herescher of the Void awakening. You know, the one with the apocalyptic vocals and the supposed main character being revealed to be the villain. The first three chapters were boring set up, but the initial idea of the main character actually being the villain kept me going, add in the second eruption manga and I was very invested on where it was going. For me, the story peaked at Mei's betrayal and Kiana's Flamescion awakening. After that, things started screwing themselves narratively speaking. The ending screwed up and undid so much character progression that it felt dissatisfying. After that, the whole premise of a sleeper villain finding redemption, reaching a deeper understanding of humanity, and defying the abstract entity that created them had gotten lost somewhere along the way and replaced with the typical power of friendship crap and the writers were too scared to make a bittersweet ending of said main character making the ultimate sacrifice. Cowards couldn't even commit to the emotional consequences of the previously mentioned betrayal. That's how I saw and liked Honkai Impact 3rd, hoping that they could take it in a narrative direction no seen before, but they didn't. Now that story is over and they moved on to something different, and so did I. Do I like the new story? No. Does that mean it's bad? No. Do I have a problem with others liking it? NO. What pisses me off is idiots who immediately begin hostilities and insults without trying to understand what others mean. So next time, read properly, think about what they mean, and be as respectful as possible without coming off as the typical asshole. And if you don't understand, just ask.

Sadly, the story telling and paces didn't give me that much hype or willingness to pull characters other than meta reasons.
