When Aurora was a child she cried because she wanted to save all the poor/homeless kids in third world countries. Her teacher told her we can't save everyone, so we should focus on what we CAN do...It's no surprise that the older Aurora does her best to inspire young people to protect the world and the environment. She has once said that anyone who doesn't believe the children of today can save the world should go to bed.

I sat here chuckling as you tried to second guess the gentle, sweet nature of the video before watching it. Muaahaahaa! The blood at the beginning represents the bleeding earth, the determination to give everything to save her and, at the end, rebirth (note the location of the blood on the women at the end). Aurora has said that the rough terrain of the location for the shoot, as well as the fierceness of the dancing, caused real blood to be drawn more than once. :)
Here's what she has said about the beat and the lyrics: (from the Aurora Aksnes Wiki fan page)
" She confirmed that the beat of the track was influenced by Brazilian’s Olodum, which she came in contact when she first went to Salvador in 2017. There’s also hip-hop influences because she “felt it deserved a very alive and bad-ass groove”.
"On the music video's description Aurora said: “Apple Tree is about the potential that hides in all of us. We can all save the world if we put our minds to it. The world won’t listen to scientific proof that the world is dying, so maybe it will listen to the dreamers, the children. In a bleeding world the power of the individual is our only hope. Let her save the world. Let him save them all. Believe in us, and maybe we’ll be the generation that saves the world, rather than the one that killed it.”

This video by AURORA, as well as the one for "Queendom" and the live performance of "Forgotten Love" at LINDMO all showcase her movements and dance choreography.

I allways thought the use of blood-props for Aurora in this video, was to symbolize the role it plays in a girl/womans life: coming of age your first menstruation, the first sexual intercourse, breaking the hymen, afterwards maybe unwanted sexual intercourse, rape and eventually giving birth to babies. all moments where blood or bloody discharge plays a role (don't worry I am a registered nurse and I have a daughter as well so these things worry me). That is just my 5 (Aurora) cents Mace.... And I love your Grizzlybear analogy Mace.... I was only waiting for a Caribou reference:-) Anyway, I love your reactions an collaboration with Adam. Canada and Wales for the win!

But you are going to get help soon. You are so good reactor o AURORA and it is a shame that is so long between your reaction to her. Hope we see you soon .

I love the vibe of this song. It's somehow agressive, which is a bit unusual for Aurora. The images are also confusing. Bleeding woman... in a not fruitful environment... what a metaphor... the dance moves remind me of tribal warrior dances, but at the same time it is very feminine... it is confusing... but i like it 💛💛💛💛💛

      Why?

@@orangejuice3543 I don't know, I guess the chorus isn't for me. Typically the verse is constructed to be slower, and then the chorus is faster because it is suppose to be the highlight, but in this song Aurora experiments a lot and has reversed the structure so that the verse is fast and the pre is rythmically half of the verse and then the chorus is practically an eight or something, and for me it becomes an anti-climax. Plus the indian music inspiration is a little too... I don't know, overpowering, I guess. I prefer her nordic style (being scandi myself).
