I’m so curious about Whalefall. What an interesting concept…something different.

I recommend "Tastes like candy" by Ivy Tholen. A Young adult Slasher novel

I'm currently reading The Haunting of Velkwood by Gwendolyn Kiste. I think you might like it.

What Kind of Mother has been on my radar for a while, and I need to pick it up right now, because I need to know about the fish! What's going on there? 🤔🤔🤔
Oh, and Whalefall! I have a fear of water, I don't like swimming, my mean brain can't stop thinking about what might possibly be heading up towards me while I swim around. Maybe something with sharp teeth. Maybe something with tentacles. Or maybe a whale, thank you book. 😁 It was a great read, though, really claustrophobic.
I'm currently re-reading Cackle by Rachel Harrison, I think for the fourth time... I love that book, it's my go to one when others fail, and I have DNF:ed three books in a row, I really needed something I will truly enjoy, that reminds me that I love reading. 😍

I still need to read Cackle! I love Rachel Harrison and can’t wait for her new book!

      @@mandysmorgueofhorror I highly recommend Cackle, it's such a fun, witchy read. :)
Her books are just so darn readable, I fly through them and enjoy every page.

I'm currently reading The Night Stockers by Kristopher Triana and Ryan Harding. This is my second splatterpunk book (the first one being True Crime by Samantha Kolesnik), and it is the most disgusting, messed up, twisted and hilarious book I've read so far and I love it.

Loved Whalefall so much and I didn't expect it to be that emotional!

Just read What Kind of Mother. I really enjoyed the beginning; I thought the story and the writing were strong and I was flying through, wanting to know what would happen. The ending, sadly, fell apart for me. I really didn't like how it ended.

Uzumaki is one of my favs! It was the first manga I ever read. Now I can’t help but see spirals in everything!

What Kind of Mother was great! Loved how Lovecraftian it got towards the end. Won't get in how to avoid spoilers, but the body horror was super effective. I'm reading We Sold Our Souls by Grady Hendrix now and it's really good so far. Amazing if you're even remotely into metal, but not deep enough where non-metalheads can't enjoy it.

Lovecraftian is the word I was searching for while talking about the book but all that came to mind was “weird” lol. I loooved We Sold Our Souls. It’s prob my fav of Grady Hendrix. It just feels like his most grown up story and I really loved the main character.

@@mandysmorgueofhorrorfinished We Sold Our Souls and loved it too! Tied with How to Sell a Haunted House for me, which is saying a lot. Now finally reading Camp Damascus and WOW I am absolutely loving this one too. Great religious horror.

Whalefall sounds interesting. I have read camp Damascus and I wasn’t too impressed with it. I guess I went into thinking one thing and it was something else.

@@mandysmorgueofhorror most ppl from the book club ended up finishing the book before we even had our 1st meeting because they liked it so much. I haven't finished it yet but I can say I think the author is doing a great job with atmosphere & imagery. The narrator of the audiobook does a creepy voice during some scary parts.

I’m currently reading Pyramidia by Stephanie Sanders-Jacob. It’s a pyramid scheme/cult horror and it’s really campy and good.

Being swallowed by a sea creature is my biggest fear. Whalefall sounds insane! The mall story sounds like a waste of a good premise unfortunately.
I'm currently reading the comic series/trade paperback of Something is Killing the Children by James Tynion IV Volume 1. It's amazing! A bunch of kids die in a sleepover. They get ripped apart by a monster. The next day a blonde lady with a sword thing shows up to hunt it down.No spoilers. This happens on the first couple pages! It's brutal with amazing characters.
