i know nothing about coffee but i would love to learn more because i love coffee so much! do you have any videos that teach people about coffee? i’d love to watch them but have no clue where to start
@@CaitlinCampbellCC well honestly i know nothing about coffee in any way so it’s hard to pin point what i want to learn, but do you have any like generic/basic knowledge type videos to get started? i feel like it’ll be a long learning process but i’m very willing to learn 😄 sorry if that’s a complicated ask!
Just got mine yesterday and am very happy with it. I was between this and the new encore, but the esthetics of the Opus are just beautiful and outweigh the drawbacks for me (the drawbacks mostly being the weird dialing system and the retention).
I love your videos so much! I just got the Opus but for some reason when I start my espresso up on my breville nothing comes out at all but when I use the grinder on the breville it works perfectly idk what I’m doing wrong😭
i got mine like 2 weeks ago. in the beginning it was wayyyy to fine... if you are a beginner in coffee i would recomend not to play with the micro adjustments. leavecthem as they were or set them back to how they were. in the standard setting espresso starts with the grindsetting by 2. I have my espresso roasts set by 2,2 or 2,0 if it is to bitter i will go to 2, 3 if it is sou i go down to 2 ,1 with 1,2 or 1,3 the setting was too fine the espresso was not drinkable. hope that helps.
Is everyone and their dog being given one of these to review?! I was watching a video about painting restoration and he even did a video on it. When products are plugged this hard it hard to enjoy the creators content.
I haven't gotten into espresso, yet, but i have been using v60's, aeropress and the like for about 5 or so years, would this be good for those kinds of brews?
I bought this grinder three months ago and was pleased with the grind consistency for my flair pro 2. However when I upgraded to the 58+ I couldn't get the grind quite fine enough to extract a satisfying shot. Maybe these micro adjustments you mention will help
Yeah I saw a video on that too! I went with this over the ESP because I wouldn’t be making espresso often or at all tbh since I’m an AeroPress guy for now
@@KingdomPerfumes Nahhh I bet you're getting it because it's so fricking sleek! XD Jokes aside let me know how you like it! It's a great company, and it's the best looking grinder in its price range.
@@ChismvilleTech haha i can’t argue there! It’s truly a phenomenal grinder. The plethora of settings though for the target audience it’s aimed at doesn’t match however. Good thing I’m a tinkerer though lol. Fits me just perfectly
Not really. Apart from the fact that they both use conical burrs, they are very different grinders. Opus has a stepped adjustment while the Nice has stepless. Micro-adjustment on the Opus is also a bit of a pain, so if you're planning on using this exclusively for espresso it may be annoying to dial in. The Niche workflow, by contrast, is wayyyy more convenient. In fact I don't think you can find a grinder under $1k that beats the Niche when it comes to workflow and simplicity. Niche also has 63mm Mazzer burrs compared to the 40mm burrs on the Opus. That said, I'm sure you can still get a great cup of coffee from this grinder. And it may actually outcompete the Niche when it comes to filter coffee (not really sure about this).
I see the niche more as an espresso grinder... this one is for " everything" as it is with those things: jack of all traits but master of non... so in espresso. the niche will be better. if you wanta pure filter grinder the ode 2 will be better. but if you want something which can do both to a level which is satisfying for the normal coffee drinker even if it is not perfect... in that case the Opus is a good choice...
Honestly, We shouldn't have to chart the celestial stars to be able to set a grind setting for espresso. Plus, the thing sounds like a dying goat when you grind for espresso. Want a grinder built like a tank that effortlessly grinds for nearly all types of coffee including espresso, and is nearly the same price as the Opus? Eureka Mignon Filtro. If you want timed grind, then get the Mignon Crono for a bit more. They're the same machine except for the time button. A robust direct drive motor and burr chassis means no stripped plastic gears or broken drive belt. Plus, a variety of 50mm flat burr profiles available online, unlike Ode's one proprietary conical burr. The Mignon Filtro/Crono really is a better bang for your buck.
Literally anything beats kcups. K-Cups are TERRIBLE for the environment, and the preground coffee inside tastes like stale cereal. Not to mention they cost more than buying whole bean coffee. Nothing about this is complicated. Just measure out your beans and drop it into the hopper.

In my country , the Baratza encore espresso is going for 170 usd$ , is this grinder better for a home espresso set? Thank you guys
Baratza Sette would be better.
