As the massive space hulks known as the Arks of Omen spread the flames of Abaddon’s war across the galaxy, a powerful agent of the Inquisition ignites an ancient archeotech beacon - praying that its light might drive back the darkness. Yet that which burns bright may be seen from afar. Deep in the void, the hateful gaze of Angron, Daemon Primarch of the World Eaters, is drawn towards the light. Driven by his fury, the Red Angel vows to drown the beacon in blood.
So begins the cataclysmic war for the Malak System. On one side, Angron and his World Eaters, leading a truly colossal invading host of Khorne worshippers fit to dwarf even the malevolent Ark of Omen lumbering in their midst. On the other, the greater part of Indomitus Crusade Fleet Quartus, a titanic assemblage of Imperial might fit to conquer entire sectors of space and liberate vast swathes of territory.
To be fair to the Sisters, there's a pretty big difference between "falling to chaos" and "Khorne just got off his ass for the first time in millennia and pushed the big red button."

So far as we know, the only willing Chaos Sister has been Mirael Sabathiel; the rest have all been the products of sorcery or other forms of "divine" intervention.

The Daemonifuge series has a Keeper of Secrets that managed to corrupt a ton of Sisters over few centuries.
So Khorne basically saw The Emperor empower Roboute’s sword to strike Mortarion during the Plague Wars and thought: “I can do that, but better and with more murder!”

Angron always reminded me of Majin Vegeta, and that moment was like when vegeta saw the power of Buu (Korn) and snapped out of it long enough to self destruct.

Not surprising, one of the reasons he liked to fight so much when he was a Primarch was that it was the only time they nails wouldn't bother him and he could actually sleep.

Sarrin is basically a shrivelled husk melded to the old bridge of the ship. She acts as a spectre across the ship that the crew know as "The Mistress". The crew can not see or hear her, but instinctivelly hide and shy away when she is nearby, even demons try to avoid the spectre she has become. The only person that can hear her still yelling commands to crew that can not hear her is the Conquerers new commander, Kossolax the Foresworn, who tries to kind of cooperate with her as he needs her in order to operate the ship. When Kossolax gives commands that Sarrin disapproves of, the Conquerer will resist the commands and even tried to kill Kossolax several times by opening air locks in its own volition and the like.

Khorne hates suffering and surely would want Angron to be relieved of pain.
Of course, he can’t do this himself because he is all about destruction.

I imagine Latara being "merged" with the bridge being kind of like Jenova inside the Niflheim reactor, with this human body wired in by a series of metallic and organic umbilical chords and a neural interface, all the while bearing this grin of cold, calculated, murderous glee.
From how it's described in the wiki, her soul has fused completely with the ship and she moves around it like an insane wraith, having full control over it. Her body has probably fused into the flesh of the ship somewhere but she's a phantom at least in appearance known as "The Mistress".
@@omnilisk279 So according to a quick brush on the reddit, the Phantom patrolling the ship is some kind of echo that was shed from the true Latara after a time. In the depths of the ship, there is some kind of second bridge deck, almost like a micro-space of its own making, and seated into the captain's chair is the body of Latara Sarin. She is in some kind of vampiric state, semi-mutated and "melded" into the seat. Hard to interpret that any more so, but apparently that vampiric thing is the real person.
Well... real in the sense that a person could be after 10,000 years in the warp. Even Horus once commented about what might happen to her "true self" after a point, and the community seems split on whether or not this is the real woman, or just a chaos thing imitating her.
Either way, it's really dope.

Tonite on Ridiculous Gear: Bricky returns for eight weeks, eight days, and eight hours precisely before becoming ill once more. Shy makes a sword similar to Angrons by turning a warframe fan into a sweaty yet fleshy sword that throbs violently when someone mentions a change in the meta and DK is in charge of the mysterious Balefleet that are set out to find the finest of stale feet.
I'm still malding over the nerf to my Ogris.
I love that they give an actual timeline of when Angron comes back. That means when you play him, the real time of your games can be 4 - 6 months depending on how often you bring him back with the blood tithe points.

I genuinely love DK's almost child like excitement at everything. I'm happy that I'm not alone in that glee.

This sounds like the perfect set up for a 28 Days Later inspired horror story from Black Library. The Imperium sends in some scouts in the months after the murder curse to investigate and they need to escape from the remnants of those still afflicted by it

The idea that Angron made one of his weapons by beating a Slaaneshi daemon into a pulp with an iron bar until it became a sword is one of the most Khorne things I've ever heard. That sums up the World Eaters so perfectly.

@David Francisco she is the only corrupted sister who has lived. There have apparently been plenty of others who have turned to worship chaos, but the sororitas are so hellbent of killing any of their number who turn traitor, the vast majority don't last that long. There was a korne worshiping traitor sister i believe, but was killed in the very story she was introduced.
Khorne must have smiled harder than cegorah during his meme inventing hour, when this battle happened.

Doing the Fantasy episode on Valkia the Bloody would be pretty great. She’s as close to a female Bloodthirster as you can get. But also comparisons to Angron. Lol. Liked by Khorne, her shield is the head of a Slannesh daemon that wanted to bone her, always angry. But she’s not actually a daemon, just mutated by Khorne. She is considered the Queen of Khorne. She also made it to Khorne’s throne as a human, no mutations at all. She’s a pretty good badass who can also be good waifu poster art.
She didn’t make it to khorne’s throne. She got close, but the other gods did a sneaky and killed her.

Angrons nails are basically the Majin symbol from dragonball, which gave me this image of an alternate timeline where the Emperor let Angron watch DBZ before he was kidnapped. So when Angron grew up and had the nails driven in his head, he went full Vegeta like "you may have invaded my mind and my body, but there's one thing a Primarch always keeps...HIS pride!!!!!" Then he overcomes the nails and unlocks his primarch powers.

What I love about the Murder-Curse is that it's a blank check given to players to make whatever kind of angry army they like. And to decide what "cursed with rage" really means to their force. Are they corrupted directly by Khorne? Or is it a rage that sticks with them, rising and falling in time with stress? Do they pledge themselves to Khorne willingly, out of desperation? Or do they continue to reject Chaos, despite the curse? Among those declared Excommunicate Traitorus, do they continue to protect the Imperium even though they no longer have a place in it? Or do they go fully renegade, pursuing whatever cause they like?
Obviously, the Murder-Curse lets you make an army from basically anything, if you can justify their presence. Primaris Marines, Sisters of Battle, Imperial Guard, AdMech, Imperial Knights. Whether they take of the banner of Chaos, they're still going to be stained with the effects of this awful temper, and by the needs of survival after the disaster. Unit choices geared towards melee. Models kitbashed and painted like they're making due with whatever gore-splattered equipment they can scrape together. Cloaks and collars to hide faces, iconography scratched off to disguise their company. Models biting their blades and covered in blood-letting scars or bite marks, signs of them struggling to contain their fury until battle can be joined. Bases covered in shining blood and glistening gore, that they practically wade through.
It's not limited to just the Imperium, if you don't want. Imagine pissed-off Eldar, Necrons, Votann, Tyranids, or Tau, if they managed to get this far somehow. Necrons that embrace a new, even bloodier version of the Destroyer Cult or revel in the Flayer Virus. Craftworld Eldar who suddenly have to switch to a new path, en masse, to restrain the unfathomable rage they feel. A Tyranid fleet that gets cut off from the Hive Mind, almost as a defense mechanism by the Hive Mind to avoid the Murder-Curse infecting the entire species. Drukhari that decide to pledge themselves to Khorne, unable or unwilling to merely placate Slaanesh anymore. There's just a ton of possibilities, if the player wishes to embrace them.
Doesnt the Shadow in the Warp prevent Tyranid corruption via Chaos?
@@LordVader1094 Again, not corruption, a _curse._ It doesn't matter if a hive fleet has fallen to Chaos "in their hearts" (whatever that means to Tyranids). All that matters is it's afflicted with a rage it cannot fully shake.
Plus, the Murder-Curse is a Plot Device. It can do whatever you want it to. By canon, Sisters of Battle can't be "corrupted by Chaos" either.
I mean khorn sisters of battle makes the most sense. There is very little distinction between the 2 gods sitting on thrones you are mindlessly slaughtering in the name of. So long as the blood flows, blood for the god emperor, skulls for the golden throne.
Certainly far more sense than Sisters if Slaanesh.

Angron is quickly becoming my favorite primarch.
Latara turned into a Chair vampire at the climax of the Horus Heresy, it was a rather sad moment in the book.
I really hope Angron, Kharn, or both find her and by seeing her again in her mutated form gain a rare moment of lucidity. And upon seeing what she has become mercy kill her to save her from what they have become.

Also it's kinda disturbing that Khorne is better dad to Angron than Big E ever was, giving him a pat on the back before he's about to get the game winning strike.

Given that the Warhammer Advertisement "theme" for Arks of Omen is centered around the GRAND ARCANA tarot, it would not be unreasonable to think that Arks of Omen is going to consist of a total of 22 books (since the Grand Arkana consists of 22 cards)

STC is basically a set of DIY instructions for colonists. The real high tech DAoT stuff could not be replicated even with full STC, since it's a military tech not supplied to coonists.
In the emperor's gift before he got super charged by khorne we see how hard it was to take down angron. Also how his original sword got destroyed. It took 100 grey knights and they almost all perished and barely banished him... just barely.. also sister falling to chaos is a common trope. Even back during Ephrael's origin. There is a slanesh sister of chaos terrorizing the drukhari out there.
