- čas přidán 30. 01. 2023
- This was a semi-final matchup from the 2016 Derby City Classic Diamond Bigfoot 10-Ball Challenge between "Eagle Eye" Jayson Shaw and Efren "The Magician" Reyes.
At the time, Shaw had already won many titles, including the Turning Stone Classic three times. This was still before the major titles. Reyes is accepted as most fans of the game as the Greatest Of All Time. This was after his prime, but he was still capable of greatness.
Mark Wilson and Danny Diliberto called all of the action.

I feel so fortunate that I lived in a time where 720p videos were being made of the legend Efren Reyes. Something special to see in such high quality.
I imagine myself 60+ years old ass glued in some bed but this guy still competing at the highest level of pool! Then now 2023, 68, still beating people at their prime. I believed he is giving inspiration to us more than anything else.
Way Z.
He’s currently in the top 100

Shaw is an excellent player... but, Efren is "The Magician" I never get tired of seeing him playing. Good job! Thanks.
Could you consider not posting the results of a match in the comments in the future? Shame on me for looking but like. Kinda a bummer for me.
You're right. I appologize. I'm fixing It now. It wasn't my intention. Thanks.
@@noyarc9598 who the hell reads comments before watching anyways
@@anonymouscorgi7099 Who the hell tells me how to watch videos 🤔
"EXCELLENT" IS A GRAVE UNDERSTATEMENT!!!
I never get tired of seeing Efren playing, he is the greatest and it is a pleasure to watch his games 👏👏
HE GOT LUCKY LOL
@@tomshaw661 Well, you can be lucky once, twice, but I have seen him winning so many games, that is not good luck at all
@@lmoya He is the greatest of all time, you won't find many pro's that will dispute that.
@@andrewwood9067 That is correct
@@tomshaw661Mike sigel daughter 🤣
Jason played well. Love watching “the Magician “ in any case.
"Need no introduction"
Simplest most badass way of being known. Legend.
22:58 well played! Best shot
Nice to see Jayson and Shane give each other a friendly greeting at the end.
😂😂😂
I was kind of stunned that they made no comment whatsoever about that one ball that Efren cut to the corner pocket after Shaw tried to play the safe after the break in rack 7. Efren made the tough cut it about a hundred miles an hour to get on the two and got out, audio might've had a problem because it was just dead silence. I don't know if they were stunned but certainly it was a quality shot that seemed to go unnoticed!
Maybe it was "Danny's turn to comment--he seems to hate Efren's style of play--or anyone who knows more than a 1950-60's knowledge about the newer, more-modern way of playing the game, with more skill than him--which would include the janitor.
Team Magician all Efren day! I love watching both players play. And i gotta give up to Mr. Kill shot. He's a fucking beast! His nickname, eagle eye, precedes him. But at the end of the day, we all know who's better...
He to be play pool cup
As an okay pool player, this is like magic. And the commentating helps me understand things that were mysteries. Thanks, all.
Keep watching Ernie, I am a very good player, a 7 in league play. Been playing my whole life but never did make it to that next level that these guys play on. . . But I promise you that I have learned a ton this year just from watching the pro's play, Especially Efrin. I was a fast and loose player, Efrin has taught me that maybe that's not my game and to slow things down, or that shot I always had problems getting position on wasn't my English or speed, it was my stroke and follow through. I am almost 50 and still learning this game that I love.
as long as you aren't trying to learn geography from the commentating, they're great
@@andrewwood9067 I’m a 6 in league play (8 and 9) and I feel like I have so much to learn. Been playing for about a year and a half now, so despite being a good shot maker, I still can’t win every game. My biggest issue right now is getting to the table hooked, I only actually hit my hall about 40 percent, and almost never get safe after hitting my ball. For that reason, often my opponents just play safe and that’s how I lose. If I get to the table with a shot, I’ll almost always run out with 6 balls or less, but I don’t get those chances much. These pro matches are showing me the importance of being able to get yourself out and I honestly think that’s the biggest thing I can do to improve at this point
a great match, hard to believe these top players only get peanuts compared to other sports!
That’s because pool isn’t as popular as other sports. If it brought more money in it would be bigger payouts
@@michaelgavin2843 yeh, crazy the amount of money if you play football, tennis, golf. Reyes will always be the best I have seen.
@@edwardcharles2189 honestly it’s insane. It’s ashame pool isn’t as big as it once was but it’s making a comeback! Reyes is a GOD. My favorite player right now is gorst, dudes not human.
I do aggree!
Po
Imo the 2 best players. And best commentators.
Nice match to watch.
Lmao Shaw is no where near the best player in the world. he's top 10 but not the best
@@george4noles338 I said “ in my opinion “.
Everyone has their own opinions.
@@george4noles338top ten isn't "near the best player in the world"? So by your own words at worst there's nine players in the entire population of 8 billion and he's no where near the best 😂😂😂
Después de los 40 minutos se le empieza a ver el cansancio a Bata Reyes. Es que los años no llegan solos. Lastima tener que envejecer y sentir el peso de los años.
Thanks video
I can watch Jayson shoot all day the guy is amazing
Thank you Mzee Efren Reyes, you are always the best ❤❤❤❤
Great Video. Good explanation and demonstration for a beginner like me. I practice 3 ball rotation against the ghost player race to 10 and haven't been able to beat him yet. I think this drill is going to help me tremendously. Thank you sir.
61 year old man playing the best of the best and doing great
Great match on a Friday night! Thx Acu Stats
Great game from two great players
That first shot though.
Great match by both players
I have learned a lot by watching Efren Bata Reyes....simply the best in the world...thank you sir
Salam olah raga master reyes tetap hebat dia udah tua tetap hebat salam
The commentators in these pool games honestly just get away with saying anything😂They either point out the obvious like which pocket the ball is CLEARLY going into OR they predict something that doesn't end up happening and giving the impression they think they know the plan or goal of what's going through the minds of the players, cracks me up. Senseless drivel.
Well, in all fairness it's got to be tough announcing a pool match lol. Danny is a HOF player but I think the old timers had a different style of play.
This commentator are legendary commentator i like the way they talk about tye Game....and Efren played well
Sense 12yrs iPlayer biller,now I'm 70yrs I admire seeing ksbayan Efron Reyes play,pole evryday,im addict fan of efren,awonder oldman
has Danny ever been able to call two calls in a row correctly.?
lol I love to hear those 2 argue. Danny was a monster himself apparently. Never seen him play, but he is a hall of fame player and the greats say he was something else. I think he just had a different style of play
Reyes' peak years was in the late 70's if I'm not mistaken and this was in 2016. Imagine Reyes' on his Prime battling these guys.
He would destroy them in his prime
👍 N I C E ❤️👏
Galing i dol
I was rooting for Efren to win,,, BooooHoooo,,, hopefully next time,, 👏🌷🙏
I took lessons from Danny Dileberto in 97 at County Line Billiards in N. Miami he was awesome and elevated my game substantially
Always watching 👁️👁️
I watched this video to watch legend's game only.
1:33 they should've turned that guy's mic up. It's not loud enough.
nice
40:23 "These are all missable, but he doesn't miss. Except that time." HAHAHHAHAHA
No one to help players rack😮😮
Shaw is a beast. Efren is the GOAT but Shaw is fun to watch. I find myself rooting for him
Perfect Shaw 🎉what can I say😅
what a amazing Efren Reyes the Goat ..❤😊
31:42 "netherlands is a series of countries"
Gotta dip. World 9 ball is on DAZN. I’ll be back for the finale
14:29 amphibious 😂. I'm sure he means ambidextrous.
👍👍👍 from Filipin good luck😘
OMG.. my first Efron loss after nearly a decade of watching his videos.
I would like ball return on this Bigfoot table. I wish my local pool hall still had a 10 foot, they got rid of the old 110 year old table but it was my first choice I played on for practice.
ya'll raving about Jason Shaw's break and 36 minutes into it he's broken twice and they haven't even shown it. I kind of want to see how he's hitting the rack
Efren Reyes the Legend👏
"Netherlands is a series of lands, right? Like Denmark, Sweden..."
Ehrm, no.
edit - you corrected that later on, so, good on you :)
1:40 the commentator saying Shaw played nothing when he was clearly trying to carom off the one ball to pocket the ten.
I think it is not about the game for me it is about legacy and longevity of efren.
Shaw is a damn good shot maker. Not many practice strokes aim & shoot.
Video top ..solta aquele lá que deu discussão jayson Shaw vs Earl Strickland 😂😂😂😂
Cuando fue esa jugada?

JAYSON SHAW; THE MAN
It must be that Jason has exceptional eyesight. Like a hawk. Far is near.
Now just imagine that Efren broke the balls better.
It wouldn't have been any fun for anyone else if he did lol
It's the pool God's way of evening the playing field and giving the other Greats a chance. Lol In HIS lifetime, No one has even been close to what he's done in ALL Billiard games.
I didn’t see Jason Shaw call the jump bank
at some point age catches up with you
Salam masterku efren reyes bagus
Effen is always calm and collective.
Idk why but in the third rack I started picturing Efren in a martial arts supreme master suit
1:14:14 Эфрен хотел свояком тройку забить, но не вышло. Ему бы в русский бильярд потренироваться, там свояк быстро освоится.
The 🐐 is the 🐐
It's hard to beat someone that knows every single shot imaginable but when u never miss anything it doesn't matter
Facetiously has all the vowels in order including "y". "Y" is a vowel and a semi-vowel or glide technically, but in fact it's always a vowel, no matter what the experts say.
Who cares
@@xl000 : Danny, Mark and millions of other trivia nuts, lol.

Ifeellolonely when i watchEfren is defeatedby his opponent ipray Efrenhas in good condition. Sothat he can play well and always win in all invitional tournaments. Long live and good health for Efren
I think you Dan mean Ambidextrous rather than Amphibious 😂
He is doing it for the second time as far as I know.
@@naturalselection1203 i heard him saying AMPHIBIOUS in a few matches he commented. Oh well, he is American, you have to understand him...
@John Denver lol. Isn't English the first language for Americans. I have been mocked by Americans for my accent. Lol. It seems accent is more important than vocabulary.
He's being sarcastic, it's a play with words, he has explained it in previous matches before,. FYI.
The 4th rack was amazing
Jayson was playing like my grandma 🥹😭❤️
Efren Bata Reyes is Legend
Shut up dilaberto, this guy knows what he's doing 😅😅 I love it, that was funny
The commentator talks about Shaw like he's Jesus with a pool stick. I personally have never been a fan of Shaw, but that's me.
Our kababayan I met in hotel guam invitation years ago !
Efren is still the GOAT!
I turn your video on it stays on for 2 seconds then turns off
Anyone see Jayson giving the finger at 1:34:57 😂
yeah lmao. did he point it to efren? wth
@@akoment2375
No he pointed it to the cue ball lol
I didn't lol. Just went back and looked though :)

its Jason's wrist on the break!

Efren plays more magic shots that makes him d greatest player.
Please post more efren
oh mon dieu, these americans, "the Netherlands is a series of countries, Denmark and Sweden and..." yup! Netherlands is Holland!
When the object ball can touch the cush 6 inches before the pocket and go in at pace then any one can pot
Shaw is the most accurate shooter since Efren in his prime. But he'll never have the winning resume that Efren has made. Like a fist fight with a young man against an old man. I wouldn't be that proud beating him.
Essas mesa de sinuca aí,com esse casapa desse tamanho,se errar porque tem problema vista mesmo, kkk,o mesa sem fuga,as casapa são muito grande
Matigas Yan si Jason sinu kaya mananalo
Damn, I’m at it again.
Now it’s the Stincel rack or Accu-Rack or
Magic Rack,any of the
templates used to rack pool balls. They are all illegal in that they all will interfere with a rolling pool ball and can change its course. We have all seen it happen.
Sometimes it enhances the player’s next move and sometimes it negatively affects it.
Weather it does either one is not even the point. ANY interference by anything is illegal.
(If your nose ring falls out and a ball is affected, it is a foul,
i.e. ,illegal.) Sorry guys, hey, I love them too. But we need to keep looking for the right rack .
So far, as far as I know, the Sardo Tight
Rack is still the only one that meets all criteria. A bit pricey,
OK just use them in the sanctioned events, or big $ matches. They actually even take less time to use than the
paper ones. Just watch them. The players are starting to
agonize with the templates. It’s the cloth. It changes as the table is used. Even that didn’t seem to affect the Sardo.
adios
Commentator 40:25, he doesn't miss...well he missed that...well he played safe but not really. I miss Mike Sexton.
