    I inherited a ring of the eastern star, I had to look up what it was. It came from my mom's (non biological) aunt, she was adopted and died before she knew her real family line or before I knew anything about the ring or what it stood for. I'm very happy to have found this. I no longer have the ring. I was arrested as a teenager for being homeless and had my belongings confiscated. But, I wonder where the ring is now.

    That Eastern Star looks like the Baphomet symbol.

    • @michiganmasonicmuseumandli7153
      @michiganmasonicmuseumandli7153  Před 7 lety +10

      Though their are similarities in the position of the star, the downward-pointed star has been used as the Eastern Star symbol since 1850, almost 50 years before what we believe you are referring to as the baphomet symbol, which first appeared in 1897. Hope this helps!

    • @jesuschristmyking8644
      @jesuschristmyking8644 Před 7 lety +6

      Baphomet (/ˈbæfoʊmɛt/; from Medieval Latin Baphometh, Baffometi, Occitan Bafometz) is a term originally used to describe an idol or other deity that the Knights Templar were accused of worshipping and that subsequently was incorporated into disparate occult and mystical traditions. It appeared as a term for a pagan idol in trial transcripts of the Inquisition of the Knights Templar in the early 14th century. The name first came into popular English usage in the 19th century, with debate and speculation on the reasons for the suppression of the Templars.
      Since 1856, the name Baphomet has been associated with a "Sabbatic Goat" image drawn by Eliphas Levi which contains binary elements representing the "sum total of the universe" (e.g. male and female, good and evil, etc.)

    • @michiganmasonicmuseumandli7153
      @michiganmasonicmuseumandli7153  Před 7 lety +13

      The "Sabbatic Goat" image credited to Eliphas Levi in 1856 has no downward-pointed star on it, only an upward-pointed star on the forehead of the Baphomet image. The first record of anyone interposing the "Sabbatic Goat" head onto the downward-pointed star was in in 1897 by Stannislas de Guaita in his book "La Clef de la Magie Noire". Hope this clarification helps. If you know of a "Baphomet symbol" (referred to in your original post) that resembles the Eastern Star symbol and existed before 1850, we'd certainly be interested in learning about it so we can make our information more accurate. Thanks for any help you can provide!

      Lets discuss the Cabalistic teachings of Albert Pike and how he implemented them into the degrees of Scottish Rite Freemasonry? And how he loved Eliphas Levi the French mystic/magician? Them we can discuss Chevalier Ramsay and the College of Clermont and how the Jesuits are deeply involved in Freemasonry. Your move now.

      I didn't realize we were playing a game that required moves and I apologize if my replies encouraged that interpretation. I was simply addressing your initial comment that the Eastern Star symbol looked like the Baphomet symbol and thought some clarity was not only invited, but expected. Your comment about Albert Pike leads me to believe that you desire dialogue about subjects beyond those of this video. If you truly want to hear my thoughts on subjects like Albert Pike, feel free to write me at my email address which can be found on the museum website at www.masonichistory.org.

So defining, scrutinizing, and being ignorant is not even an objective option. It’s ludicrous. This is polarity. The universe just wants love, balance, and harmony. It is indifferent, and doesn’t scrutinize, divide, or discriminate. We were born from darkness “yin”, but we never forget about love/light/higher power “yang”. It’s times less. For example, see this link www.masonicdictionary.com/oes.html and even this link www.oesnb.ca/?q=node/148 by a Grand Chapter of OES that refers to him as Robert Morris in its description.
