The teleport glitch I'm using in this speedrun is called a "Zip". It's a frame perfect trick requiring to move forward at a specific timing while blocking and walking. To make it harder, you have to press forward for a specific amount of frames, depending on when you started moving forward. The goal is to release forward after the block animation reached exactly 139 frames. Speedrunners are using a metronome to hit that timing. I'm using a 107.5 BPM and try to time my forward input/hold the key for 4 frames at the 5th beat. We also are using another variation of zips to "kill" bosses, called "Megazips". It's a zip followed by another W input after 12-14 frames after releasing the initial W press. It's really hard to do it consistently but in this run I got all of them really quickly. The vagabond class was chosen because it starts with heavy equip load, which makes the 2nd zip possible. With medium or light load, we wouldn't land in front of the Academy. All the glitches you see in this video are done on current patch (1.04). Wrong warping by pressing ALT+F4 still works. @@petermilesi3718 Cheating is using external programs to do things impossible to do in the game. Zips are glitches that can be done in the game without use of any external programs. Any% category is about using everything that is possible in the game to get the fastest time possible.
Imagine just casually walking around, farming runes and enjoying the light of the magnificent Erd Tree and suddenly you get teleported to another dimension just cause you accidently pressed some buttons
the glitch is so hard to recreate that after it was discovered it took a while to even be considered realistic to use for a run lol.. after that more about the timing was figured out and by a lot of practice you can get somewhat (but not really) consistent at it

He probably only lost a total of 15 to 20 sec max on zips. I don't think a whole minute could be shaved off there. But who knows. Maybe something new will be discovered

You need a really solid 60 FPS, so PC is recommended. You could probably do that glitch on console, but moving 4 frames with a stick sounds really hard to do
Hey, first off this run is amazing and absolutely insane! But, I am unsure how you did the Farum Azula wrong warp without teleporting to a grace. (at around 2 - 2:30ish) I'm assuming Alt-F4 but I don't know when you would do that. Either way I love the run!
This isn't JUST the world record speedrun when you think about it. It's also: A maidenless run horseless run level up-less run pacifist run no weapon upgrade run And if you could die without being hit by Hoorah Loux it'd be a no hit run
One thing I've been wondering while watching all these new WR's come out (although I didn't know of this one til today!), why exactly do you always pick up the Tarnished's Wizened Finger? Afaik it's not necessary to open the door out of the chapel, and clearly you're not playing online, so I can't think of any explanation.

the glitch is so hard to recreate that after it was discovered it took a while to even be considered realistic to use for a run lol..
