Lots of balance in the tournament and that's good. Italy with one of the strongest scrum packs didn't deserve the penultimate place but it must be said that the World Cup started soon badly for the Azzurrini after the expulsion of Aminu

Classy win by the Young Stallions. Great achievement to beat bronze winners the Baby Boks in the pools. And in South Africa. I think Italy would have beaten the Junior Pumas in the first game if not for the red card. If they had that win they may have made the semi's. They can be proud of their efforts.
Japan lack size which is a real issue on defence. They scored some well crafted tries at this tournament though. They will be relegated now and be replaced by whoever wins the challenger tournament. I'm guessing Scotland or Samoa. Maybe Spain.
It's a chance for Scotland to come back to the top table of world rugby, , but Samoa could add power and skills to the tournament also? But congratulations to all nations competing in this tournament, a BB d to the hosts for putting on a great competition. 👍

Good game but I don't agree with the red card,there is no malice in that tackle,world rugby will kill this game
It's not about malice. There certainly was none. Its about care and attention. ...thought. That was a reckless tackle and deserved a red card. What astounds me is the tackle off the ball by a Japanese player on an italian support runner just before Italys first try. That was a red card , penalty try, ban for quite a while and illegal when I played in the 70's 80,s, 90s and 2000's at various levels in wales and england never mind when I refed and coached littleuns here in France right up to 5 years ago. Totally missed by the ref fair enough, but the linesmen and tmo? What the actual...
