I’m really happy you decided to go with a more fractal and ever-folding approach to this deity. I almost immediately saw the DMT inspiration for how the deity constantly distorts and changes which I also really enjoyed because it really encapsulates that this thing is beyond human comprehension. Hopefully you get the publicity you deserve for this film because it had me in more chills than any modern horror movie I’ve watched from a big industry

Fantastic job! I love how you emphasized it being beyond our understanding. Too often I feel like monsters are anthropomorphized or given traits of creatures we're familiar with. To make it something TRULY alien is in my opinion what Cosmic Horror is all about.

Brilliant choice in not making the deity look like a space octopus. The deity appearance really feels sublime and awesome (in a cosmic horror sense).

The way you mashed-up the wallpapers to create the sky is so cool and beautiful. And it's a brilliant decision to not include the octopus to make people keep guessing what kind of deity it is. Also, the real ending will make us wonder whether the deity spares her or not

Love all the cosmic horror you do, it's absolutely fantastic and i haven't found anything close to it anywhere else. Super cool to see what goes into making the videos behind the scenes

Thank you so much for doing this behind the scenes video. It was a treat watching you share your process. Generally speaking, it allows the public to understand how much intention, thought, care, and rigor goes into producing a cinematic piece of work. For me as an artist, it is always great to get a peak into how the sausage is made, so to speak.
I completely resonate with your philosophy behind showing the incomprehensibility of God. We as finite human beings still grapple with the fact that infinity is beyond our grasp, and that if we truly accessed it we would have such a reaction. Hence, our mythologies about God is a way of distilling the supernatural into something we can handle. I think for further insight people should read Joseph Campbell's The Power of Myth. So, I think your choice for the ending is not only plausible, but brilliant.
I admire how you took the resources that you have, and created robust cosmic and supernatural horror. Everyone that you collaborate with brings so much to the table. It is clear that all of you work cohesively to create something that hits all the beats, giving us such a wonderful cinematic experience.
Your mom always does an incredible job of internalizing her characters. She allows us to be in the space with her and feel what she is feeling. I know that you spoke about expanding the cast, but please continue to include her in your filmmaking.
With this particular film, you took it from the very tribal, earth rooted religion to the cosmic infinite realm, drawing from the ground, through her husband's ashes, through her body into the cosmos. That's just my interpretation of it.
The way you used your stock footage was awesome. On my end, I have been particularly frustrated with the lack of good stock footage for horror. I typically use Canva for Teams, because neither Artlist nor Motion Array have what I want. You mentioned Envato, which seems to be out of my reach pricewise. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. NOTE: I just watched 5 Tips for Zero Budget Filmmaking. Very sound and usable advice.
I also want to check out the music videos you produce. Where can I see them?
I am a fan of your work, Matt. Looking forward to your next project.

No problem, really glad you enjoyed seeing how the sausage was made. I always go in with good intentions of doing BTS but always end up just moving onto the next project.
Really appreciate all the kind words. Always really nice to hear when the work resonates. Love your interpretation of this film in particular.
I think half of the stock for this was Artgrid (which is Artlist) and then the other half was Envato. There were some other elements added in from free space packs from Premium Beat and Rocketstock too.
The music videos are on my page in a little music videos playlist, but if you search Bury Tomorrow - i made Abandon Us, Boltcutter and Heretic - watch Abandon Us 1st, Boltcturer is a sequel. Then Heretic is kinda standalone.
Thanks again for taking the time to watch and leaving this comment! Really appreciate it. Will be bringing a lot more in the new year!

Cheers! Absolutely loved Mandy. The film he made for Cabinet of Curiosities was really cool as well. Definitely give that a watch if you haven't seen it yet.
