  • I walked from Yokohama station to the park at the end in the same day, but I visited Yokohama twice for this video. The beer factory and some footage in Yamate is from another day. Yokohama has lots of attractions, and it might be a little difficult to do everything in a day. I'd like to write below what I couldn't show you in this video too.
Yokohama is city that you can arrive in 30 min. from Tokyo. Yokohama's sight seeing spots are gathering by the port of Yokohama. It's not a place to see authentic Japanese experience, but you'll see the develpment of Japan in past 150 years.

    Pleaces visited in this video:
    Nissan Gallery
    Shiseido Park
    Chinatown
    Minatonomieruoka Koen
Yokohama City Center's other spots not shown in this video:
    Cupnoodle Museum
    Landmark Tower
    Marine Tower
    Yokohama baseball stadium

Awww! I went there last month, visited the Cup Noodle & Gundam Factory! Both good, but the Gundam Factory was the best! It was awesome looking at the Robot & his moves:) very very cool! I'm hoping they wont remove it next year so many people can see it :) Yokohama looks nice as well at night

Visited last month. The inside of yokohama station is very beautiful. I have been to the Nissan engine museum and it is really a good experience if you wanna drool over cars you cannot buy. But next to this museum (other building) there is the Hara model train museum which is a fun in between activity I can recommend to everybody of all ages. Difficult to purchase tickets but staff will help you.
Yokohama is a great area for strolling around and there is so much to see and do that 1 day is even too short. Especially the parks and tourist spots like osanbashi and the park next tot the gundam factory. The worldporters shopping mall with the bandai namco cross shop and aeon cinema is great. I even enjoyed the various yokohama city qr code's that where in various places which explained the history of that site.
I agree with the redbrickbuilding but there was a dog show when I was there which gave it a nice touch.

I was in Yokohama a couple months ago and this video brings back great memories. I thought it was a great place to escape the hustle and bustle of Tokyo. I did go to the Cup Noodles Museum which I enjoyed, especially the custom Cup Noodle I made. My favourite part of my time there, however, was seeing a baseball game at Yokohama Stadium. Japan is awesome!

Right now on day 14 out of 17 on my trip. Tokyo->Fuji->Kyoto->Osaka->Hiroshima->Kanazawa->Tokyo
I’ve had day trips at Kyoto, Himeji, Nara.
I’ve been loving it very much. Tomorrow early I‘m exploring Kanazawa. Around evening it‘s time for me to take the Shinkansen back to Tokyo. Staying around Shinjuku area, which I haven’t explored much at all.
Tokyo is mind bogglingly huge. I could have spent my time only there, but I wouldn’t have seen 1/5th of everything 😆. I still have to buy souvenirs at Don Quijote. That alone will take a bit of time from my last full day in Tokyo😢
For my first visit I’ve feel that I’ve had a great overview and have so far experienced variety.

Hi, Kenchan. I might be visiting Yokohama in the Fall. I do remember you made this video. I am interested in most of the places you went except the Kirin just because I don’t drink beers. I have two questions: 1) how long did it take you to walk from 新高島 area to 元町中華街 area including all the stops? It’s amazing you could finish all the sightseeing in a day. 2) by the end of the video you seem to go uphill to a viewpoint. Is it 港の見える丘公園展望台 just to the west of 元町中華街metro station?

    • @tokyokenchan
      @tokyokenchan  Před měsícem

Hello Chow san, I checked my photo data and I left Nissan Gallery in 新高島 at 11:20 and arriving 中華街 around 15:15. So I was walking around 4 hours including lunch. Yes, that park at the end is 港の見える丘公園. It's a nice area to stroll around. :)

Tip: I don't recommend the Cup of Noodle museum unless you have children with you. While it is a little interesting, it wil not entertain adults/teenagers for long. We were made fun of by my inlaws because it is very much considered a "childrens field-trip" location.
