Oops we accidentally made a movie! For the uninitiated, a Soul Link is a cooperative two player Nuzlocke where you and your partner's Pokémon are linked together. If one Pokémon faints then whatever it's linked with is gone as well. We actually completed a Soul Link of Pokémon Fire Red and Leaf Green a few months ago, but Johto turned out to be quite the emotional rollercoaster. This video was never meant to be as long as it was, but it kind of just kept growing out of our control. We had a ton of fun with Heart Gold and Soul Silver so there was a ton of stuff to share from our Soul Link.

At this point Noikey is gonna be an old man with dementia and the only thing he'll remember is his searing hatred for Registeel.

There is a third option. You get a legendary early on and then proceed to be steamrolled by the only counter of your team when you expect it the least.
I would actually like Pchal to review this. Would br an interesting insight.

"CRUMBLE AT THE FEET OF GOD" - this singlehandedly took me out laughing. 🤣🤣 I love all you two's pokemon playthroughs, but i think, hands down, this is the funniest one because of Noiky's sheer and unadulterated HATRED of Registeel over the course of the video, for good reason. Thank you both for the laughs, I love this series so much, and I truly cannot wait until Tarny gets to visit gen 5. I think she'll have a great time, especially since it's all new pokemon and she can't just fall back on her old favs.

They randomized it (Probably with the Universal Pokemon Randomizer) which includes an option to make catching way easier.
Could be they tinkered with it.

Lugia is a box legendary in these games, catch rate on those is pretty high.
The Groudon is another story.
The randomizer playing the correct battle themes for wild legendary Pokemon makes it so much more hype to find them in the wild. Hearing that Hoenn legendary theme start up in the early cave made my eyes pop out of my head.

I'm quite a big fan of the "randomize by BST" option for these. Not that it isn't fun to see legendaries but the true challenge and build up of low stat pokemon up to higher is unbeatable

Something I appreciate in this video is the editing. I always like how you do the story telling and how it switches between the Animal Crossing avatars and the game for emotion, but there are all these little things. How you get both your characters on screen. The 'extreme' death animations. Going down in separate lifts.
IT really makes me look forward to these type of story time videos.

In FireRed, Taryn finds a Ho-Oh. In SoulSilver, Nick finds a Lugia
This also happens with Latios and Latias. Nick gets Latias, Taryn gets Latios.
So when Taryn encountered Groudon I said to myself, "Nick is going to encounter a Kyogre down the road, isn't he?"
And I was CORRECT. It's super interesting (and a little creepy) how it worked out lol

When you are stuck in what to place on your team, there is an optional thing you can do; Consider Normal/Flying types as Flying types. It might help in the future. Good luck! These are fun videos!

Man I love these so much. Have you two ever thought of doing a Rival lock. Its something I thought about and it's a 2 player nuzlock but instead of a thing like life link. You basically play as a nuzlock but after every gym you would battle each other. But that's like the only battles you wont lose pokemon in. Idk something I always wanted to do with a significant other. That way we can see the true pokemon champion
