I finally decided enough was enough! After all the times my boyfriend has made me play Souls Games on this challenge, I decided to give him a little challenge of my own to spice things up. Since he always complains about how long my bonfire runs take me, I thought I'd give him a taste of his own medicine by having him make the longest bonfire run of his entire Souls lifetime. I wanted to see if I could raise his stress a little if I made my boyfriend play Dark Souls 3 BUT with no bonfires.

It's funny, DS2 actually has an ingame challenge for this. you get a special ring if you manage to beat the game without using a bonfire. and another one for deathless
and suddenly I'm glad ds2 dosen't ask you to collect all the rings for a trophy like 1 and 3

12:03 Poison resist doesnt make the poison rate slower, it raises the bar of poison you can take before the status effect takes place.
Yes, it physically makes the bar longer, which is why back in ds1 when you equipped stuff with really high resists like the black and gold robe guarded by the discharge all the bars would fill up halfway then slowly tick down.

If you quit to the main menu and load the save back up any crystal lizard that has disappeared will be back in it's original location, no bonfire needed
You know, what makes this especially fun is the thought that she would most likely have never thought of this challenge if he hadn't made her play this. Men be careful what you make her do; paybacks are a bitch. Great vid
I know a terrifying challenge: In DS2, get the Illusory Ring of the Conqueror AND the Illusory Ring of the Exalted in the same run. One requires you to beat the game with no bonfires, the other without dying. Honestly either one on their own is a good challenge. And yes, it is possible to do both in the same run.
In DS2 there is one major thing that makes it a little easier and that is life gems. But the added ease is put of by the game overall :D

Fun fact: when you enter the twin princes boss room, don’t move from the door. Let them teleport and watch as they teleport in place, preventing them from appearing behind you

....Probably best not to mention that the Executioners Greatsword, found before the cathedral, gives you enough FP to cast heal after every 8th kill, huh?
The CZcams notification cut off part of the title, so it was a little confusing clicking on "Made My Boyfriend Play Dark Souls." I was thinking like "but that’s the series he makes her play, not the other way around." Luckily it was more interesting than him replaying one of his favorite games.

A very refreshing take on your formula and a great showcase for a challenge run that isn't just SL1. Legit gave me the urge to reinstall DS3 and do this myself at the beginning, but by the end that urge has definitely passed lol

Also, i think we collectively love Made My Boyfriend videos as much as Made My Gilfriend videos, just make sure you both are having a good time and we'll enjoy it

that is a three minute montage of just straight sped up running. Per run. Christ.
I'd have made him do the actual No Bonfire run in DS2. It's easier, if you're comfortable with DS2. You can use life gems for healing, enemies despawn after so many deaths, and there's no path as long as High Wall to Anor Londo. The one major negative is that DS2 is a much longer game.
your boyfriend got all caked up and then beat the boss, that is a pretty good lesson
I understand the impatience, and that fall damage in DS3 is particularly bad, but you could just take the longer walk to avoid taking fall damage, since it's such a big deal for your overall health. The fact that y'all instead went out of your way to get the cat ring is hilarious 😂

My fave is DS2, so, if this run were to be done in THAT game, the run would be LONG, but never DEADLY, after the first 12, when everything stops spawning. Of course, if you really wanted to, you could put on the covenant of champions to make it feel like this...

Until the very last second I was worried this would end in "And then he touched a bonfire and gave up on the challenge". It was very interesting, to the point I'm obligated to wonder how repeating it would look in DS1 and ER.
the only part of ds1 that would be bad is the second half, the first half has all those shortcuts that'd be a huge help, idk about er tho

This run is really interesting. It turns the game into a roguelike of sorts, just without the randomness. Going through collecting upgrade materials, dying, going back to upgrade the weapon or using a bone to get back safely to firelink. I might consider doing something like this myself as it’s just so interesting.

Fun fact for the titanite lizards, if you quit out it resets all creature positions and aggro, including lizards. Also if you are getting chased down, you can quit out and reset enemy aggro and positioning. Good for challenge/speed runs.
