Love it love it love it! This poor generation just doesn't know what they've missed out on
Great video by the son of one of the greatest jammers in Roller Derby History Tony Roman
A dramatic pullaway defense preserve a last minute win for the Bay Bombers.
I saw this when it was first broadcast fifty years ago. Thanks for posting.
By far, the Bombers were the Roller Derby's GOAT!
28,000 people how popular Roller Derby was.
Such a brilliant finish to the game.
This was great Mark. Brings back great memories.
Awesome I remember this game and Fireworks i was there , I used to skate on a banked track in San Leandro when i was about 12 and there would be pick up games all the time i remember those bumps and bruises well. Also my uncle got Charlie O'Connell to sign a Jersey for me while hanging out at his Bar in San Leandro Charlie O's . I must confess my favorite skater wasn't Charlie O it was Bill Groll on The mid-West Pioneers .
Your Parents are IRDL Royalty!
ThNk You for Posting, Mark!

Larry Toppins glad you enjoyed the footage...which years of roller derby games do you have?
@@RollerDerbyMarkRomanHey Mark most of my games are the 73 season when Weston moved to the pioneers. Then from 83 - three 86 I believe
Great stuff. Keep posting
Wow look at that crowd ! The fire in that finishing! I get chills! Thanks for sharing Mark!
Great tape Mark.thankyou
I was there
WISH THE FULL WHOLE 8.PERIODS WERE AVAILABLE
Great times 70s
THANX MARK!!! MEMORIES!!! SAY HI TO MOM !! Carol 'ROWMAYNE!!''
Why was the tape edited so heavily? I bet it was 2 inch tape with a ton of bad spots.
Not sure 🤷🏻♂️
Overall age of the tape might be one factor. Noticed too it wasn't a whole game. Fortunate to have what old film was left since majority were erased. Also technology then nothing like today.
The Bay Bombers was my favorite team....do u have any clips of the women period from this game?
No I don't...this is the only video footage that i have
@@RollerDerbyMarkRoman Didn't the Braves win it all that year? I know they were loaded in both the women's and men's fields.
Donnie Hagy i believe they did win in 1969
@@RollerDerbyMarkRoman one thing about the roller derby, the road teams did win their fair share.
I WONDER how many other skaters had videos of games?
BRING BACK ROLLER DERBY!!!!!!!
Why did they cut away to the audience during the pullaway? Missed the whole thing.
Honestly it might just be the technology afforded @ the time.
i loved that one point by roman on woodberry. ju jitsui - he used bob high center of gravity against him.
