  • Deliver the hog fat or die trying!
    Bruce is a trucker who works the hog fat lines between Earth and the Titan Station. He’s content with his life but a bit lonely. A month away from the Titan Station Bruce picks up Max, an easily bored automation engineer with a broken shuttle. As Max is about to go crazy from space boredom they receive a strange distress call. Soon they discover a huge dark object on a collision course. Bruce and Max must risk everything to survive their deadly encounter and deliver the hog fat.
    A full length sci-fi feature film by Anton Doiron.
    Kind of like what Star Wars and Star Trek would be like without any budget.
    A funny low budget space adventure
    Has been compared to Dark Star and Red Dwarf
    References to Alien, Star Wars, 2010, Dune, and tons of other popular sci-fi movies.

Learning to make a daily habit of working on the movie and not giving in to too much TV or other shiny objects is difficult. It takes a while to do all the parts of a movie project when you have a really small crew especially when you have sets and space scenes!

      Ok, that project looks good too. I guess I'll just have to be patient. Have you seen The Gamers: Dorkness Rising. The Gamers is the first movie but The Gamers: Dorkness Rising was better. Hand of Fate is not a sequel but continues the story. You independent movie makes compete with Hollywood anytime. I can't get enough.

    The first for five times I tried to watch this I couldn’t get past 15 minutes thought it stunk big-time. But now 40 times later it’s one of my favorite movies. This movie won’t win any Academy Awards. But it still took a lot of time and effort with the cardboard gray paint and duck tape. And a creative mind. They could leave the sinful cursing when they take the name of Jesus/God and use it as a cuss word.

    great syfy comedy, from the whip cream and duct tape to patch the holes, to crashing into Titan station, and when leaving Titan Station, after the one ship captain called your ship a piece of crap then dumping the sewage and it lands on the other ship was priceless. Well done, you really need to do a second adventure going to get the Carbonato (which I found out is an actual word). I'm sure you guys can come up with more comedy on that adventure, especially around Uranus.

    I saw the title and had to Check it out. I really wasn't expecting it to be as entertaining or funny has it was, I nearly fell out of my chair laughing after Bruce first started talking to Mr sour cream. It's an Instant classic for me. I love a good independent film. I was really hoping to find another movie but looks like your busy with other projects. I'd dig a sequel or something else with you and Bruce. Good chemistry there.

    Part where Bruce goes out in the deep space to rescue max. Bruce would’ve been frozen solid in two seconds without a space suit. Because it’s like around 300 below zero at in deep space. A good funny movie.

    • @AntonDoiron
      @AntonDoiron  Před 3 lety

      Thanks, Actually the part about Bruce in space is mostly technically correct. Lots of movies like Sunshine, etc. get it wrong. Space is a vacuum and Bruce would loose heat via radiation loss but not convection or conduction which is what we notice most on a cold day. Bruce would probably overheat as long as his body kept producing heat and he was in sunlight as the radiation loss would not be enough to cool him down. If Bruce was dead his body would eventually loose most all it's heat and get very cold only being heated by the sun. His biggest problem would be suffocation, heart issues, the bends, cosmic radiation, or other vacuum related complications.

    • @ZyonSigil
      @ZyonSigil Před 2 lety

      Scott Actually you can survive the vacuum of space and be mostly unharmed so long as it's less then 45 seconds. The biggest thing to remember would be to exhale. So they got it right for the most part.

    • @AntonDoiron
      @AntonDoiron  Před 6 lety +1

      Jack Schaefer Karl, who plays Bruce, got a bunch of big boxes at his work so we used those and whatever else I could scrounge for free. I got paint from the paint store’s free pile. The most expensive thing about the sets was all the hot glue and tape holding everything together.
      I used to make stuff out of cardboard and tape when I was a kid so this is a large scale version of that.

  • @chaostheory6682

    This movie was surprisingly good. We stumbled across it looking for a scene out of Space Truckers and landed here. At first we wanted to shut it off and never look back, but the more we watched, the more the cheese grew on us. It is surprisingly entertaining and well done. It doesn't try to take itself too seriously and it works in its favor. Considering I am a person who typically avoids cheesy, low budget sci-fi because of how bad it is, and fact that this somehow rises above my almost pathologically obsessive need to avoid such material says something about it. I really hope there is a sequel.

      I am not trying to "take away" from your effort, it's just that as the main characters were watching a movie on the ship it struck me that they were escaping the moment.
      Sadly, I lived most of my life "waiting for future moments" and did nothing, or next to nothing, in the present. It's something that I live with constantly.
      BTW, I had a CDL Class A driver's license but had to give it up due to age and health.
