- Tanner, Rutledge and Adam construct replicas of their favorite Hollywood cars (Tanner: a Nissan 200SX disguised as the DeLorean time machine from the Back to the Future films; Rutledge: a 1995 Pontiac Trans Am disguised as KITT, from KnightRider; Adam: a 1973 Plymouth Duster disguised as The General Lee, from The Dukes of Hazzard) and put them to task, starting with a speed test. Such a shame too. Top gear UK really didn't give American cars a fair shake. Sure, they had some episodes dedicated to American makes later on but they never explored wierd american cars like the Pontiac Fiero or the Plymouth Prowler. If Top Gear UK did this skit with the TV/movie cars they would have gotten an actual DeLorean, a correct generation firebird, and charger to do it with. Clarkson would complain the entire time and it would be more entertaining than this.

i don't see many foxbodys around but they are cheap a while back i was very tempted but had no money there was a 1990 camaro and a 89 firebird one of them had a rebuilt 350 from a truck and i forget what the other one had but is looked ok both needed to be painted but it didn't look like they needed much more then that 1500 for both of them

I have a 82 firebird that I bought for five grand but it was a Motorsports edition which they made 500 of that year

I liked this version of Top Gear, they were good too - in their own way. Problem is that people keep comparing it to the original, which was sort of a different show really.

Well, at least KITT was a Trans Am and a much better performing version than the 1982 model used in the show, but it still would have been better with the correct cars.

I feel like this is the best Top Gear USA scene I've seen so far. I actually wanted to see more than just the one challenge shown in the video. Lately, they seem to be finding a new 'groove' thats working out well.

You guys must not read very well. These are replicas of the T.V. cars. In the whole episode, they were given a budget(believe it was 2,000 dollars) to make their best replica, hence the "delorean" not being an actual Delorean, and the Trans Am not being the right year.

I love these guys!! History channel was totally stupid to cancel this! This show isn’t one of their best, but I like the way the 3 of them are together. Friends, manly and playful all at the same time. Way to go guys! You need another show!

Trippy JWCraigG the joke was to use the WRONG horn. do you understand what a joke is? the whole point of a joke is you expect one thing and get another and then that’s the punchline. in the episode they were like “oh I ran out of money to get the right horn so I just borrowed this off of someone” but really the producers just picked it as a joke because, as you’ve so eloquently pointed out, it’s not the correct horn

I had a '73 Duster. It had the 340, 0-60 in 6.8 seconds. Top speed was over 120 mph ( it could bury the speedometer )
