- Dr. Shabir Ally highlights the contributions of Imam Shafi'i to Islamic jurisprudence. Dr. Shabir Ally explains the need for schools of thought in Islam, which arose to interpret the Quran and Hadith for practical application. Imam Shafi'i, noted for founding the Shafi'i school, emphasized strict adherence to authenticated Hadiths to ensure that Islamic practices aligned closely with those established during the Prophet Muhammad's time. Imam Shafi'i lived in a time when the scholarly study of Hadith and narrator reliability had become highly systematic, which helped in verifying the authenticity of Islamic teachings. He was particularly concerned with regional variations and incremental changes that could distort original teachings. Shafi'i advocated for a methodology that included the use of analogy and consensus among Muslims, significantly influencing how Islamic law is interpreted and applied. His principles ensured a systematic approach to verifying the authenticity of Islamic teachings, emphasizing the Quran and Hadith as primary sources.

Thank you Dr. Shabir
Imam Muhammad ibn Idrees Al-Shafei is also unique amongst the well known scholars of jurisprudence in that he developed two sets of opinions, one in Iraq and a second in Egypt, where he witnessed a different set of circumstances for certain issues he came across. He is also unique in that he compiled his own opinions himself in volumes. Whereas the students of the other scholars (Abu Hanifa, Malik and Ahmad) generally were the ones who compiled the opinions of their teachers. Al-Shafei was also an accomplished poet and has a preserved compilation of poems "dewan Al-Shafei" in which one finds his most famous poem "Al-Ayam" الأيام (The days)
Let days go forth and do as they please
And remain firm when settled is the Decree
Don’t be afraid of what happens by night
For the affairs of this world are not to last
And be a man, strong in the face of calamities
And let your nature be that of kindness and honesty
If your faults become too much in front of the people
And you wish that they were to be concealed,
Then know that kindness covers all faults
And how many faults are kept hidden by kindness!
No sadness lasts forever, nor any happiness
And you shall not remain in poverty, or any luxury
Generosity cannot be hoped from the miserly
For no water exists in the Fire for the thirsty
Your provision will not be decreased due to life’s delays
And it cannot be increased due to your haste
If, in your heart, you possess contentment
Then you and those who possess the world are equal
And for him upon whose horizon death descends,
No earth can offer him protection, nor any sky
Indeed, the earth of Allah is certainly vast
But if decree descends, then the world constricts
Let days be the ones that betray you at all times
For no cure can avail a person of death.
Assalam alaikum, thank you for this lecture on Imam Al-Shafi. 🕋
Syeduna imam shafi rahimahullah a great scholar ,our hero
Thank you for your lesson today Syech🙏
Ja'far al-Sadiq would be a really good figure to cover once you've finished covering the founders of the major Sunni schools.
Shias are misguided
Ja'far al-Sadiq was a bigger Jaahil than Abu Jahl, and we can prove it
❤
Talk about the word of hero ..... He rose the rows of roses he rose the rows of heros ... Who is he ....
There seems to be a progression from non-existent hadith to all-important hadith as you go from the time of the Umayyad caliphate to Imam Hanifa to Malik to al-Shafii to Hanbal. You can observe in real time the development of the religion by the Abbasid caliphate.
Yes: during Abbasid period; these Imams converted Islam into a Counterfeited Religion which majority follows today
Imam shafi was student of imam malki
Imam malki was scholar of medinah. do I need to say more?
doesnt matter
Will you mention the fact that the shafii school held the position that niqab is obligatory. And that the rest of the schools all considered hijab obligatory except covering the face
Impostor Shia Shafi is not authority in Islam. Authority is Quran. So look: if Quran ordains Niqab or not? Quran does not
@@abdar-rahman6965 quran based on whose understanding? You cannot come with ur own interpretations

Excuse me for saying this but what you have said is 101% absurd because Quran is not a book of man but Book of God, and in order to explain Book of God, either your knowledge should be better than of God, or at least equal to God's knowledge. And this is Impossible. That means: No any Fallible Human can explain Infallible Quran of Infallible God. This is why: God has fully explained Quran within in Quran through Quran's own built-in Tasreef.
What is Tasreef:
Quranic verses are interconnected like brain neurons; and in this way: verses explain each other in multifaceted forms. When read have any confusion about a verse; other several interconnected verses will rescue you out from confusion beautifully. This is called: Understand Quran only by Quran; and this is ONLY and ONLY the correct way to understand Quran correctly.
If a person will not follow this Rule; he will be failed to understand Quran even in 1200 years. This is why: even after 1200 years; Sunni and Shia Imams are failed to understand Quran correctly because instead of understanding the Quran through Quran's own Tasreef; they have been SUPERIMPOSING on Quran stories of their Imams and storied of their other man-made Books. We respect Dr. Shabbir but does he understand Quran correctly? I bet, he does not.
Quran 75:19 God says:
_Then indeed upon Us (is) its explanation_
25:33 God says:
and [that] they [who deny the truth] might never taunt thee with any deceptive half-truth without Our conveying to thee the [full] truth and [providing thee] with the best explanation (Tafseera أَحْسَنَ تَفْسِيرًا).
Note: Sc., "of the problem or problems involved": an allusion to the self-explanatory character of the Qur’an.

Quran 9:31 _They take their priests and their anchorites to be their lords in derogation of Allah, and (they take as their Lord) Christ the son of Mary; _*_yet they were commanded to serve but One Allah._*_ there is no god but He.
