I like how Peter the Great place at the front is accurately reflected at the end of the clip. In reality, Peter the Great was a bombardier captain in several wars.
Fun fact: Charles didnt die in russia from being shot by a soldier, he died in norway after he failed to invade russia because denmark declared war on him again. When he was besieging a fortress one of the norwegian soldiers on the fort walls killed him
I think it was reference of him being shot in the foot in Battle of Poltava
its not clear who actually shot Charles, but there are a handful of theories regarding it

Interesting (maybe) fact: while Hussars lost the effectiveness in fighting against infantry (in frontal charges) in 18-th century they still demolished most of enemy's cavalry. The truth is that they still could be present in the battlefield and be effective (like the cuirassiers were), but maintaining them was very expensive, and polish nobility (key componemt of winged hussars) at the time wasn't so interested in fighting another wars. So hussars were eventually disbanded and used only in ceremonial way.
They never lost effectiveness against infantry, pike was too short to counter Polish Kopia and musket too slow to reload to break the charge
@@mollynormalnie7007 they lost effectiveness because the swedes started to stay in fortefide areas. hussars spotted in the area get in to fortifications if there are not make a wagon fence and erect spiked barricades. and to anybody thinks that hussars where ineffective the hole reason cavalry was equipped with lances and sabers in the nepolionic era was because of how much the swedes were impressed by them and replicated there tactics to a degree when they fought the western powers.

@Timur Sayfullah i think he means he regrets Russia becoming more of a euroasian empire instead of a purely Nordic one, theres alot of debate on this and all that but back in the days of the Kievan Rus medivial russians were just seen as a normal european kingdom like Kingdom of Sweden or Kingdom of England for example, but when the mongols took over all Russain land expect for Novgorod things started to go bad, alot of russian rulers started ruling like the mongols instead of the old kings of Rurik, they introduced serfdom and was way more authoritarian than the rest of europe, alot of europe became scared of Russia and saw them as pretending to be european, there was even a saying scratch the surface of a russian and find not a slav but a tatar instead , theres more to it than that but it's fastest way for me to explain it
@Timur Sayfullah expanding without developing the territory is the way of autocratic rulers of nomad tribes. Russia got so many lands that they couldn't be developed and reorganized even now. Corruption and direct rule from center makes any local initiatives useless, resources are used, taxes are collected, but no progress to regions at all, it is not the priority of any russian government. The concept of Russia - few people makes money for their own clan and everybody else suffers. It would be better if historically Russia went by European way: many states for different or related nations, but not the one overlanded monster who fights himself or his neighbors. Historically it could be five or more small different states with Slavic and/or Finno-Ugric population in the European part of modern Russia, with their own culture and language. And many states for another nations. But Russia copied Mongolian Empire to much. Expand, expand, expand. It never ends good.
