- Ghanaian inventor Apostle Kwadwo Safo has opened up a factory which produces SUVs and pickups "made in Ghana." Customers include, among others, the police. Ghana is seeking to promote products made locally.
As a Nigerian American I’m so proud of my Ghana brothers🤍
good for Ghana! now what the country needs to do is to encourage and if possible subsidized people that want to build own and run small factories that make the parts there, instead of importing them from China. that way you keep the money circulating within the society instead of going overseas. if every small town specialized in making one, two, three or more parts, to send to the main Factory to be assembled it could be an economic boom for their country. not to mention specializing in a part(s) and community pride around it wood definitely make for better quality products and higher morale overall.
Search foday (chinese car)
Make it available all over Africa.iam from Kenya we need to promote Africa
Daniel muchi Africa should become one sovereign country. United States of Africa.
Africans are poor because
Kris Kris not for long.. lol
Somali socialist Somali socialist you don't make sense.do you stop eating or buy your comfort because of tribal issues?
We already have mobius motors. Those cars are manufactured in Kenya. Remember, they aren't assembled. They are made in Kenya so pessimists keep off!!
thanks guys kantanka as Kwame nkrumah said Africa must unite thanks guys pushing good work for Africa Africa must unite
I would like to invest and encourage manufacturing of parts within the region. Remembered, the Great Ancient Ghana Empire that once ruled West Africa. God is in control. ( The might Gold Coast).
I'm Ghanaian, and I approve of this!
That's brilliant... especially without robots. Nice one Ghana
Congrats to Ghanian brothers. Here in Rwanda we are prospering also
This is so good to see, I truly hope this company thrives. Ghana is developing rapidly and this is a sure sign of it. Great to see it improving itself , ill look out for these the next time I return
big up Ghana from Algeria, great work
Well done Kantanka, we are proud. 🇬🇭❤️ 🏆 u will do more than this. Made in Ghana is our economy need. We need less imported goods in africa
The pick-up kinda looks like an Isuzu DMax, those pickups look like they are tough, and hey, manually assembled means more jobs. Nice, a good step forward for Ghana.
I have high Hope's from Ghana. Greetings from India. Lord Krishna bless Ghana.
It was hard to believe at first so I went to visit the plant in Ghana. There was not one single Chinese or foreigner in the premises. From scratch to finish is made by Ghanaian locals. Next time I will text drive
So you saw them building the metal parts from scratch? I mean from flat metal to something that is used for parts? I'm curious.
@@TsunaXZ yh they do most of them and the rest are imported parts.
This is awesome ! Man I wished Latin America could produce a car. Great for Ghana ! Great inspiration.
David jerezano Should be easy. These are rebadged Chinese cars. Just order the parts and put them together.
Im not sure about other countries but Brasil has Troller and Agrale. There are many foreign manufacturers that base some of their industry out of Brasil
Now Africa why not congratulation Ghana
No we have to congratulate Ghana very much.
These are all made in China
And assembled in Ghana.
Who told u
Richard Asare
Because I know..
@@sbludba prove please. And u dey lie may God punish u and ur generation forever
OMG I HAVE GOOSE PIMPLE WATCHING THIS. PLEASE LET US ALL GIVE OUR SUPPORT TO MY PEOPLE WHO ARE CREATING THIS POSITIVENESS FOR AFRICA AND OUR PEOPLE CAN GET EMPLOYMENT. GOD IF I HAD ENOUGH MONEY I WOULD INVEST IN THIS COMPANY WITHOUT BLINKING.
Africa has all the resources it needs to build cars (Raw materials, People and Knowledge)
I would love to see Africa exporting cars to other countries all over the Globe before I die.
My fellow Africans let's support our very own Kantanka automobile to grow with us by purchasing the Ghanaian locally made cars. It is as efficient, elegant, durable and affordable as the other known brands...together we can; yes we can so help us God.
God bless Apostle Sarfo of Kantanka Industries for the job well done for Ghana and Africa in general.
I live in America and want one
A chinese car, assembled in africa, from a 15 year old design? Why?
Proud of you Ghana!
This is really good, they need to get a hold of their country and make strides. Grow Ghana Grow!
Hand built car company, dayyyum...RESPECT!!! 👍
Big up Ghana...
Ghana on the rise, i hope Jamaica is watching and learning.

This is good for Africa. I’m happy and I’m encouraged to do more for Africa
God bless mother Afrícà.Gh
Congratulations dear Ghana
Awesome I wish I could invest in this heavily.
Me too!
I said the same thing in another DW video about this subject
Same!
me three
Make the necessary enquiries, I believe that you can invest in the company.
Rebadged Chinese Foday Lion, Foday Explorer 6, Brilliance Jinbei.
Foday lion
You got to start somewhere
Ethiopia should import these cars instead of Japanese and American cars
Yes they should. And they should invent stuff too also
You mean Ethiopia should import Chinese cars instead of Japanese and American cars???
its just a chinese collapsed car kit. All the Ghanans do is put them together. The biggest obstacle to vehicle manufacturing is development and creation of parts not assembly. Nevertheless its promising.
@@HoiSourced Can't you see you even with this assembly mentality that they have as you saying, they're creating employment for the locals.
Import the exact car directly from China.
Thats what i am talking about progress
Good work
I'm glad! It's about time black people make some big designed and made by them that show everybody that us black people have our own style and thoughts. I'm so glad Africa is rising up to where they should be and could've been if white people and non African people didn't go into Africa and take what it had and kept the black African people from getting more and keeping what it already had.
YTU1116 You know, Africa could be successful if they just stop blaming non Africans for their problems and just rebuild like these guys are doing. It’s possible, all you gotta do is come together and work for it.
AFRICA STAND UP.! I LOVE THIS...
Great man...keep it up.
everyone's gotta start somewhere
Toyota, isuzu baoycot..Kantaka all the way..All African governments should place orders
I wish we could have more african made car companies
You killed the name of the inventor.😂😂😂 APOSTLE KWADWO SAFO KANTANKA
That pick up has a similar headlight as Isuzu d max
It's because it's is Isuzu
Good luck.... hope u guys do well..
You should manufacture from start to finish.made in Ghana.cut China out
codo's to the Africans. u got to start somewhere--hope it can lead to something much greater and bigger
that electric one was so sketchy lol
great work
Assembling foreign-manufactured vehicles is very *VALUABLE WORK.* As long as it results in same or lower sale price compared to an assembled import, with same tax treatment.
God bless Ghana
nice assembly factory
What is the name of the book that you were reading where it say that 5000 years ago Cars were made in Egypt??
I kinda like the “no robots” part. Will bring in jobs
How blind can someone be? Robots do not steal work, they enhance productivity.
Big hope in Africa i will ariv to Ghana i live now europa
Good work keep it up
Cool and make good for u r country
Allah bless Ghana 🇬🇭Allah bless KANATANKA
Great job. The Gov't supporting their own
That’s pretty cool
Please lam pride to be use kantanka vehicles but is money matter you guys are doing well may Almighty God bless you
Ok very good idea
Wow.... hand built car....
I wonder how it compares to say a BMW or a Mercedes suv? I bet these is a massive difference in quality and performance. These Kantanka vehicles are made from break down kits from China.
Ctwentysevenj china didnt build their industries overnight..this is a good step forward regardless of quality.they will improve as time goes
If they assembling or manufacturing Ghana made a car
Ghana to the world
How can I find out what means of payments do they accept. Coming from the US I'm only allowed to carry $5,000 USD
I use one of kantanka car is very nice
The way to go
They are just assembling ,they need to manufacture too
You know nothing. Shut your beak. Jealous twerp
Wow powerful car by Kantaka
That white electric suv has the same lights as a old Honda Pilot
Now the earoplan car has arrived😀
Don't be surprised. Ghana has been manufacturing buses way before Kantanka came. If you know Neoplan buses then you should know.
Unfortunately, the reason Kantanka Cars is able to offer world-class vehicles is simple: It gets just about everything shipped over
from a Chinese automaker. The Kantanka vehicles supposedly designed for Ghana's local conditions are, in fact, indistinguishable from ones that have been on sale in China for years.
So what?
This is just assembly. There are no molds and presses. Everything is pre manufactured in China. I'm sure the engine and transmission are also from China or Japan. But still it's progress.
Ghana does not own it or produce it they assemble! That is a good news. Nigeria produced cars and many more, we are first Africa to own our own cars and produce without no help.
Skin pain. Who cares if you're the first to do whatever. Don't come here with your primary school debate. Semi literate Naija, vamoose. Go get busy with manufacturing every part of your vehicles on your own, Mr. Mechanical Engineer.
They don't import parts from China, every part is crafted and moulded right here in Ghana....
At least it has a good Mitsubishi engine, chassis and electronics.
Sorry to break it to you but the design is not unique, it’s basically an Isuzu dmax
00:48 actually the car is chinese
in another word, they collect parts together and call it MEAD IN GHANA
let me tell you why they are doing this, it is to avoid paying tax on exporting cars from outside ghana
as a result only cheap labors work on collecting this car, there are no electrical or mechanical engineers or scientists in this factory
look i know is a rebadge , but one day they would design they're own cars ....
Its your mother doing the cars or it done by a Bank Manager
hate comment...iphones are made in china but assembled in California ..go to bed!
👍
Jinbei sy1028 chinese pickup truck being rebadged and assembled in ghana. only difference is the front grille
How do they drive
bradpara you push it it will go
nice int
ByteGuy price
Chinese cars assembled in Ghana. And factory that looks like someones workshop. Yeah great.
Alis Avdagić nonsense
Alis Avdagić kantaka is an African brand
The police car that is supposedly unique, is the same design as a Isuzu dmax
These are Chinese cars assembled in Ghana. South Africa are producing about seven millions cars a year. Some BMW, Mercedes and Ford models gets manufactured in South Africa and are then exported around the world. Even to Germany. South Africa refines more petrol than the rest of Sub-Saharan Africa combined. We make our own tires, automotive glass, automotive paint. We even make cars for Noble and f1 sports cars. But we are slowly losing everything to cheap and sub-standard Chinese imports. As we are losing our engineers to Australia.
Deon Van der Westhuizen , Ghana will soon be able to produce their own parts in factories in no time, its a brand new company, they will soon have electrical, and mechanical engineers, that way the money will circulate in their country causing an economic boom.
Donnie you are right. That is the way Africa should be heading. We have too long been dependent on all the shit that first the Arabs countries, then the European countries, and now North Korea and China has been dumping on us. But we should be able to see the truth. We should not get emotional about this rebadged Mitsubishi / Foday Lion. Let's take the best of the world, and add to that our own ingenuity. But we first must rid Africa of these corrupt politicians. Africa has got great potential, but that potential is killed by Africa's weakness to select despots as prime ministers. Many great Africans has literately been killed or sidelined or jailed by "African politics".
hate comment...iphones are made in china but assembled in California ..go to bed!
Ghana have really tried...they are still new in this.Besides they are still new in this..I have know doubt in 50 years of production like the European brands you've mentioned, they will be much ahead. Africa Industrializing is the end of European exports..I see it in the horizon..Great work Ghana..
Really good but looks too much like isuzu and subaru
that thumbnail car looks like an isuzu or holden
Why do those SUVs look like same ones from isuzu?
Isuzu design
Chinese manufacturing
Ghanaian assembling
Not all that complicated
how about the crash test result
1:34 Taillights from Honda Pilot 2001-2006 GG
Lol I was looking for this comment
That electric suv had Honda Pilot rear lights😂
Made by hand
No offense but the truck looks like a rebadged Isuzu and that suv has mid 2000s honda pilot tail lights
That's just an empty garage with a couple of guys assembling a kit car.
So instead of a Lexus I can buy a plexus 🤔.
Most developing countries have an assembly line for major auto manufactures. Pegeot and Volkswagen, British Leyland and Mercedes-Benz had these sort of assembly plants in Nigeria in the 1970s to 1980s. They were mere Completely knocked Down parts reassembled locally. They were never described as made in Nigeria. Cos they were not. 40 years later, the Chinese are doing the same in Ghana. Difference is that the Ghanaians have given liberty to give the assembled unit any name it wants. This is misleading.
It's a start.but you are there yet
1:30 WOW it's a rebadge of foday explorer-_-
