    Thank you for this information! Looking to upgrade the heat exchanger for my C6A6 and was wondering if I should divorce the circulation. This helped greatly.

    Thanks for the great info I live in Florida and it’s dam HoT here and I was looking into doing the divorce but shiiii I think I will just add a bigger heat exchanger an electric fan and still keep the stock exchanger pretty much would have two exchangers and keep my IAT’s nice and cool.

    I would say it is beneficial if you go DIY custom route of divorcing, mainly because of price. To divorce, all you do is cap off the feed from header tank to charger coolant pump. Add a small header tank and bracket. Attach the pipe from top of pump to bottom of small header tank. Job done. You can get divorced for under $40! Another benefit is reduced ratio of anti-freeze increasing thermal conductivity and adding in a Water Wetter or Charger chill, which is the same stuff. So you're improving the charger cooling by increasing the thermal conductivity in the coolant. I've also done a universal stack heat exchanger, no more high IATs especially on Dynos and recovery is better. All for less than $250.

      @@pawelaleksiejuk3462 the instructions are the same basically for ant 3.0T. Just the positioning or route of the pipes.

    I live in FL and don't have to worry about freezing temps. I machined a overflow reservoir and will be diverting the system then running a 90/10 mix. Looking forward to seeing if the data logs show any improvements.

    What’s the difference between your heat exchanger and merc racings?

    • @034motorsport
      @034motorsport  Před 2 lety

      We don't have experience directly with their HX, so we can only comment on ours:
      Our Heat Exchanger will provide substantive cooling performance for Stage 2 and Stage 2+ vehicles, offering CNC Billet End Tanks and a high-flowing core.

    So better to just upgrade cooling system with the front mount you guys offer?

    Will a divorce system not be better for the intercoolers which are prone to leaking?

    • @Mazzerants
      @Mazzerants Před 3 lety

      I say it depends on the coolant mix.

    • @davewilliams7565
      @davewilliams7565 Před 2 lety

      I would say yes, in theory, as when the engine heats up, that pressure which is around 1 to 1.5 bar ends up pressurising the charge cooling system to the same pressure. But depends on the leak, obviously more pressure will push more coolant out. Having said this, it still needs fixing. Or when divorced you could put a stop leak in there and not have it going through the engine and components.

    What about gains and lower temps from running different water/coolant ratios or systems like interchiller or killerchillers?

    • @034motorsport
      @034motorsport  Před 3 lety +1

      Though there are theoretical gains there, we haven't seen or measured data that makes the cost and effort worth it. Our main point here is anyone that makes assertions that these additional modifications are required should show data to support those claims.
