Good stuff man. We are in a bit warmer of a climate but got the same results... About a 5-7 degree difference (cooler after install), but the recovery times dropped drastically. Wait until you run those 3/4" lines 👌🏻
I've watched all your videos and I've been modeling my modifications of my B8 S5 to your S4. Now that CSF has a replacement rad., I'd love to see a video of that upgrade and your results. Just as important is if your shop would allow you to do a vid on the install. Keep up the great work!
I just did the CWA100 with Merc's S6 HX on my '15 S4 and the recovery times are insane. Stage 1 on the Stock HX, Stock Pump (75F degree day) it was 51C to 70.5C on the first run, then 54C to 75C on the 2nd run. I had let the car cool for about 5 minutes in between the runs. I just did logs with the S6 HX and CWA 100 (85F degrees) and it was 42.75C at the start of the FIRST pull and 60C peak temp at the end of the THIRD pull (these two had the largest difference, so I'm not cherry-picking)... I did these back-to-back-to-back pulls; no cooldown in between! There was limited traffic, so I just knocked them out quick. This is also a 10F warmer day!!
@@CZcamsHandlesAreStupid I think you being Stage 1 when you did your testing also plays into it like you said. I was Stage 2 Dual Pulley E40. I have to imagine I create much more heat with that setup.

Great video! refreshing quality content presenting interesting topics but in a fact-driven manner. I am keen to put this pump on an RS6 C7. Not sure if the harness is compatible.
Video is awesome and informative as always! You mentioned that B8.5s don't utilize the secondary heat exchanger. Do they not have them or have them and not use them? Newbie B8.5 owner question 😬
Audi removed the secondary heat exchanger on the B8.5. They appear to be a bottleneck on the cooling system and the car cools more efficiently with it removed.
Great Video! Interested to see how much change there will be with the 3/4 inch tubing. Do you think it's worth getting this pump if I'm just stage 1 at the moment? I do live I Texas however, so it's 38°c here regularly. Still on OEM heat exchanger.
I don't track my b8.5 s5, but I'm looking to go stage 2, crank pulley upgrade. I know I'll need to upgrade my hx. But getting the upgraded pump might be worth it. Especially during the summer months where I live. When its over
Meaning that it's not about me testing the power output for people to see how well the product works. It's about proving how much lower the IAT's are for optimal performance.
Great video, I've had CWA100 for a couple of years and its a great little pump. I'll be interested to see if you get a fault code with the pump, it could be the later versions fixes that but it has no impact on the performance. Is your system divorced? if not are you looking at doing that? One advantage is being able to run more water and water wetter during the summer but adds a maintenance to replace coolant for winter.
Yes, I have the same code. There is no feedback so that code is expected. The system is not divorced. We still aren't sure whether or not we'll be going that route or not.
i watched this video again and I have a question: once installed and running (6.27 in the video) you talk about how its at 64%, 80%. Is that refering to the pumps capacity? And will the ECU naturally take advantage of the pump ability to move more fluid or does some tuning need to be done?
That's referring to the pump's duty cycle. I was simply running a test when I was showing multiple percentages. When the car is on and running, it always runs at 99% I believe.
Theoretically speaking...Do you feel that a larger external 1 gallon resovior would provide more cooling for a pass vs the pump? Trying to figure out the most beneficial next mod... these 95° days are killing me.
Maybe im a bit late but over here in Germany we have never came to the Idea to change the Waterpump for a stronger one. Sounds Interesting. Do you have the Links for the parts that you have used? I have found a replacement Pump from merc racing but what about these 3/4 inch tubes? Where Can i get ones with good performance? And have you replaced all the coolant lines that goes from the waterpump to the Supercharger and heat exchanger?

@@VancityAudi ah ok, only heard, that you said 10 30 60% or something and 88% is stock duty cycle. So I wondered why they didn’t modified it. But so…it’s ok haha
When you're wanting to get every drop of performance out of your car it's absolutely worth it. One of, if not the biggest performance losses in these cars are the IAT's being way too hot and your car loses massive amounts of power.
Adam did yall have to change any wiring? I had my pwm wire cut and the pump cools 10° more with the wire attached? Wondering if its running at 100% with the pwm wire attached?

Bottleneck. Lines are so small they impede flow.

Any thoughts on the CWA150? I'm guessing better results being as the pump flows more. Should I go with that instead of just getting a 100?
Sadly I can't comment on that part seeing as I've never used it and I've never seen any results from anyone else's car.
Yes. It’s the high pressure version. Cwa150 is better than cwa100.
