    Ok, this got me....
When this first came out, I was a teenager in love for the first time. We dated on and off through college. But after college we broke up and I joined the Army. I met a fellow soldier and, after I got out of the Army because I had busted my knees up, him and I got married. We were married for 9 years and have a wonderful 16-year-old son. But while we were still married, my first love called me up and told me he felt I was his soul mate. A few years later, still while I was married, he died in a drunk driving accident in his 30's. I'm 47 now, divorced, and when I heard that song, I just started bawling!!! That first love, that lost love, that love you'll never get back......it just hit me, because I remember him at 16, my son's current age, singing that song to me while we sat on his bed and everything seemed possible. Young and in love is a great feeling.

@@wendydotson8891yeah. And Jon had some amazing talents on that young guns soundtrack. Jeff Beck and Elton John played a big part in the making. There is an interview on here from 1991 right before releasing keep the faith that he talks about working with Jeff Beck and he couldn’t believe that he was actually able to get Beck to come sit in on the album. There was some pretty funny stories in that interview about the making.

Actually, one of their most successful rock ballads, probably beaten only by the ubiquitous "Always" (1994). Number one in US single charts, back in the day. In fact, all the five singles extracted from that album ("New Jersey", 1988) went in Top 10 single chats, a record for a rock album that holds today.

John tells the story when inducted into the Rock and To,l Hall of Fame. When he went on tour in the 80’s , his high school girlfriend didn’t want to wait for him. So they broke up. He dated others, but no one was like her. He tried to get her back; he went to ask her father I believe. 🥰 That’s so neat! They’ve been together ever since!!

If you like also the anthems, Blaze Of Glory, Runaway, Saturday Night, Born To Be My Baby and the list goes on... Dig deeper, it's totally worth it!
