Here east of Houston, we were driving back home from my buddy's camp house, it was afternoon, and everyone was driving with their headlights on. It took awhile to realize what was going on, but others had used shoe polish on their windows writing out SRV and his birth and death years, etc. Alot of people were broken hearted that day no doubt. Here in Texas, I'd guess it was comparable to Elvis's death.
I remember coming home from work Aug 27 1990 turned the tv on I was in disbelief all I could do was cry. I cried too when Elvis died believe it was Aug 16, 1977, 2 days before my birthday. I did see SRV live in 1989 in Tampa Bay Fl. greatest show I ever say.
@@user-xs5gy5ri3v Happy belated birthday I was in New Smyrna Beach FLA on my birthday!! We're such unique and gifted people. I love the month of August and I love the 🌊 Ocean.
Sad that he is no longer with us. But he is in a better place now. And, who knows....maybe he's still playing in heaven to impress the angels:) God knows he can.
High energy is corret..never seen anyone as active as Stevie Ray Vaughan..and his band were on the road most every other day..Stevie was the Blue's and rock n roll on the go..Stevie Ray Vaughan learned guitar at a young age and never gave up his young life only to play his guitar which is legend..Stevie will never be forgotten and his fame will go n and his coming clean was the best thing that Stevie achieved ..Stevie Ray Vaughan played with 5he best of the Blue's and Albert King and BB King were very special..God Bless all
Some reallllly great stuff here!! Makes you wonder what performances are still out there that we haven't seen of Stevie!! Especially the MTV one, makes me think they filmed the whole show!
Thank you for posting, but could we remember him alive! Can't believe I cry every time! Not a great way to start a new day. PLEASE remember him happy and full of life! I think thats what he would want.
Stevie Ray Vaughan did not deserve to die or the others ..I'm certain this is has been said by others..but..there's something that mystifies me about this crash..
That last TV interviewer was really special....she said that SRV was one of the most genuine people she had ever met and this his playing was like liquid fire! Ditto on all counts!
Yes...Joyce Kulhawik with WBZ here in Boston back then. I was at that show. Had the privilege of seeing Stevie 9 times. We'll not see the likes of him ever again
A sad ending to Stevie Ray Vaughans life..and the trials he encountered thru his young life..after rehabbing and thru with drugs and alcohol..it all led to his end..he had a terrific band and added Reese Wylon to his band on keyboard..playing blue's and rock and roll..a whirlwind passing thru..never another Stevie Ray Vaughan and the best of his legendary music carreer..The best Albert said of Stevie Ray Vaughan..the best of Blue's and rockn roll..2021and still entertaining the world..RIP Stevie
This was and is sad..why in the hl would a professional pilot hit a ski hill not even a mile from where they left..How did that pilot get into that place to begin with..didn't he go out from the same place he piloted in? It's a mystery that leaves me confused..and of all the .musicians Stevie Ray Vaughan was the best..
Another thing that blows my mind, he took the last seat at the last minute after having a dream the night before that he had died and he was at his own funeral. Destiny is a bitch.
RIP Stevie,
We miss you! You're music will never die.
Missed by so many - one of a kind!!!

2:21 I believe that the whole concert was taped but it has never been released to the public and probably never will. :(
"Stay tuned for more music right now here on MTV..." That may have been the most shocking thing to cross my ears during this entire video.

The Liquid Fire metaphor is so fittinh to SRV. A true legend!
The man, crushing it...

Could have rode out in a van, but gave up his seat...
What's rewriting the stars about I wonder 🤔 ❤❤❤
May the ancestors continue to keep him cloaked in peace forevermore RIP SRV
Was he ECs sacrificial lamb? 😡 I doubt nothing anymore.
Hey, look. You got to study. Then if you study it, maybe get to a recording studio. And that's good that he had a study buddy with Family Style.
WHY ARE PEOPLE LIKING SRV BEING DEAD!
ThE same as YOU can like Mozart
He wasn’t a blues guitarist, he was inspired by blues men but he played sort of a white mans southern Rock
Tell that to Albert King. He'd smack ya one.
