im a recovering alcoholic and he's always inspired me. i spent 3 months in a facility where i met people who are right there, real and all we do is try to help each other. we would actually watch vids of stevie because he gets it, or did unfortunately. he was harticulate and honest about his problem and how he won over it, i cried like a newborn the day he was taken, i wasn't sober yet but he was and i still wanted to be. his passing is not in vain, he inspires me on a daily basis, the music of course, but mostly the man.

Oh, yes. I'm sure he would have. Tommy Shannon, his bass player, said in an interview that Stevie broke down one night in their hotel room (while on tour) and begged Jesus to help him beat his addictions. And Jesus DID help him, doubtless because he was dead serious and knew he couldn't do it on his own. God does respond to us when we reach the bottom and are serious about things.

Yes. But he didn't die on his terms, so to speak.(he gave himself a better chance to live.) He fought his Demons & he won! He did his part & I believe, he's with the LORD right now. I've heard/read of people that Stevie has helped get sober, from the grave. 🙏✌️ This my Op.

Not with his speed on the neck, his accuracy through those magic chords, is like nothing I have seen before, A real true genius at his chosen craft. We miss this guys honesty, and his kind soul.

I've gone in and out of my using problems and watching all of these videos gave me the inspiration to get back on the right path. Its no fun being an addict and it is very hard disease to oovercome...SRV youre the best. If you arent my bio father then you knew who he was/is. After watching this I suddenly felt so sorry for his band mates. They must have felt like they lost a brother. I know some bands are close and some stay together to make money but, Stevie Ray said they liked each other and liked to hang out together. You don't find that in most band situations after a few years. I like that Stevie Ray has so influenced music that you can hear his signature licks in a lot of todays young guitarists. If they only had his passion for the music.

I’m going through it too.. absolutely in love with this man. I’ve always known of him, but he just didn’t catch my eye like he is now… and I’ve always been a Hendrix fan, Hendrix was my dads favorite. I’m sure he loved SRV as well, both of my parents were lovers of all music. They were born in ‘60 and ‘61. I was born in ‘92. 2 years after the death of this beautiful man. When my mom passed in 2011 I made a CZcams video to Life Without You with photos of her, but it was taken down years later for copyright issues. From time to time I’d check him out maybe listen to a song or two, read a little about him. But starting last week, I have straight up fallen in love, to the point it hurts! I cry, & i constantly catch myself taking deep breaths just sighing wether I’m watching him play or watching his interviews. Just being overwhelmed by emotions. I am also an addict and all addicts instantly have this connection with one another because all of us have that understanding of the suffering, and no matter what and no matter who you are the only way we can stop using and suffering is through A.A. Period. We cannot do it on willpower alone, and we all come to that realization eventually. All of us across the world must work those same 12 steps. So it’s really a like a brotherhood, that even if you are two strangers, you instantly connect on a deep level with that common ground. It really sucks to have feelings like this for someone you don’t even know, and someone who has long passed away. But I know he is with me in spirit, and I can keep him
With me in my own ways, for instance for the first time I have never felt the desire to NEED merchandise from any famous person. I bought a poster and a tank top, and I can’t wait to get more, so I can see his gorgeous face all the time ❤️ his brother jimmy donated one set of guitar strings to strings for a cure for cancer, which is jewelry made from the guitar strings from all kinds of celebrities, I’m trying to find out if there are any more available, I would absolutely die if I could have one of them. To have a part of something that is one of Stevie’s true loves, a huge part of his purpose for being on this earth, in my hands, to cherish for the rest of my life. That would mean everything to me. I’m even wanting to get a tattoo.

@@pamelagarcia2653 by the way, did you know his peacock tattoo was supposed to be a Phoenix bird rising from the ashes, apparently the tattoo artist he described as a crusty old man with a cigarette butt hanging out his mouth, he blew cigarette smoke in his face the whole time, he didn’t let Stevie get a break, he said it was so painful that he would never get another tattoo again, the tattoo artist kept asking if it hurt and would laugh at him. He had to have purposely tatted the peacock just to be a dick, because there’s no way the tattoo is anything other than that! That makes me so mad 😡

@@wowurlamee Hi Jade, Our L'il 👑🐝 never said anything bad about anyone!..at least in interviews. After he passed when they interviewed the band & others close to him, they would all say the same thing. Stevie gave a synopsis of the tat story on Arcenio Hall & said he was young & drunk when he had it done. He only found out later it was designed for an arm! So you'd never know that crusty old man had it in for him! Let me say he wore that cheesy thing with pride...& joy!!😄 Notice the credo "Do Unto Others" was seriously lived because when asked about the Bowie deal in more than one interview, he never gave negative details. So let me test YOUR SRVia: "King Bee " came from the Prince incident or kind of a father-son passing of the torch with Muddy Waters? Muddy called him "Baby Boy." What did Albert King call him?
