    I know your camera mounting position is a common one for a lot of motivvloggers but for some reason the way you have yours mounted lets me feel like I’m actually seeing what you see because when you said you saw half of your arm in the mirrors that’s literally what I could see too so it’s super cool the angle or however you got your camera set up we actually get that true first person point of you not like we’re sitting on your chest like a lot of chin mounted cameras. it’s actually like we’re looking from your eyes. Good stuff man I know you pay attention to details like that and it’s much appreciated 👍🏽

      At first it was a PITA to look down but that was because I was running her in and I needed to check my revs. (I own a 2020 fxlrs with a 131ci stage IV). However, once it's run in I don't feel a need to look at the revs, I go by 'feel'. Also I have a satnav fitted and it fits beautifully under the larger fairing cowl ( I have the larger HD optional fairing) which wouldn't be possible with the gauge bar mounted.

      @@tonylinardi3089 I've got a Garmin Zumo XT mounted on the bars of my 2020 Lowrider S. That gives me my speed, and I almost never look down. I gauge the revs by feel.

  • @MetaPhYsics-and-a-Motorcycle

    I recently turned 60 and bought myself a 2023 Low Rider S. Yes, I'm defying my demographic. I actually went in to get a Heritage, but out of the corner of my eye, the sexiest bike in pearl white sand caught my eye and after a test ride, I proposed and we were married on the spot! And wow, can this bike go! I traded in my 2017 Deluxe for her and man....what can I say? I feel 20 years younger. Love the mid-controls as I like to stand up from time to time to stretch my legs. Worth every penny! Great review of the 2022, blockhead! Keep up the good work!

    I really like the gauge placement. Wish they would have done that on the models from the last few years. Just don’t think its enough to trade a 2020 FXLRS for it though.

    • @expert_fretwork
      @expert_fretwork Před 2 lety

      The new gauge is only about $260. Well worth it IMO.
      I got one for my 2021 Street Bob because I can't stand the tiny all digital gauge. The analog tach is a great touch.
      Dealer cost to flash the ECM is only about $60. Certainly beats all the aftermarket 3rd party stuff that's like $500-600

    Honestly I'm loving the refreshed low rider S. The decision to relocate clusters from the tank to the bars behind the fairing was the best decision Harley made. However, that being said, for the money you pay for the Low Rider S. I kinda wish they would have put the digital Guage cluster used in the Nightster S on instead of the one they have on the bike currently. Otherwise, I think it's an awesome bike. But still a bit behind the Indian bikes in terms of tech.

    I ride a 14 low rider. I'm 75 years old. I don't think I should buy a new one right now. If you don't slow down at intersections, you won't be riding when your 75. Great video. You don't over-power the voice track with music which I appreciate because I'm listening so that I can hear you. Oil on the Inside, Rubber on the Bottom! Thank you.

    I like the traditional tank mounted gauges that came out in 1977. The bar mounted gauge has a sportster look. I have a 2020 LR now. This is the third LR I’ve owned over the years, so I may be biased, lol.

  • @agnomymous
    @agnomymous Před 2 lety +8

    I like the bar mounted speedo from a safety pov (since your eyes should be UP) but heavily prefer the gas mounted myself. I'm the type of person to guestimate my speed based on traffic around me so I prefer the tank aesthetic.

    Love my 2022 Low Rider S. The 117 is awesome the handling is great. Coming from the Street Bob 114. My biggest reason for upgrade was the gas tank 5 gallons. We do long rides. I've already have mine set up like I want it. Stage 2 will be the last thing I do to it.

  • @ScarlettDeLion

    I actually upgraded a week ago from my 21 LRS to the 22. Honestly I like the speedo up more. It also feels way more torquey and aggressive as well as feeling more nimble even with the forward controls. Truthfully it feels like an FXDR and Low Rider S hyrbid to me

    What Blockhead has done for me. Saw some videos of him back in 2018, and started to follow him. Saw alot of his videos, and ending up buying my first HD in 2020😜 Then had to sell the bike last fall to buy new house, then found my way back to his videos again now. Pros and Cons with the new gage. Its better to see, safer but i like it clean behind die shield. Well i guess the new one is still the better way to go, because i tend to go to fast when i dont see the speed directly xD

    Why did they keep that trim piece on the tank. Might as well remove that with the gauge relocation

    If they are going to move the guages then they should smooth the tank

    I'm glad they moved the gage's, wasn't a fan. I wouldn't mind the slim setup tho

    I like the classic look of the gauges on the tank, but not having to look down would be nice. The gray paint is not appealing at all to me. It's the color of my lawnmower and it doesn't match the bronze wheels. You mentioned cruise control- I've been waiting a year for it. That's ridiculous when it's an item that comes stock on several other bikes.
