    Thank you! The belt came off of my mower and I was intimidated at the thought of putting it back on myself. 😂 Or paying a shop to do it because there's no extra money to pay them. Your video helped me get it back on without any difficulties. Thank you!
    Signed, a grandma who didn't think she could do it. 🎉

      @@Mechanical_Mind won’t that wear down the belt though? I have 170 hours on my mower and I just replaced the belt for the second time yesterday.

      @Beamin-vt7jm not sure what you're asking. Won't what wear down the belt?

    I need some help if you could tell me what the stabilizer that holds the PTO clutch still when you were showing a way to get the clutch off with the rod and hammer when the clutch came lose the bolt stabilizer fell off to.

    Is the belt supposed to make contact with those metal notches on the back of the deck?

    Would bad idlers cause belt breakage? My e140 has 72 hrs on it and Im on my 3rd belt already?

    • @Mechanical_Mind
      @Mechanical_Mind  Před 9 měsíci

      Yes. Worn idler bearings and/ or worn spindle bearings often cause belts to break. As the bearings wear out they become more difficult to rotate.
      I suggest removing the deck and rotate each spindle and idler to make sure they are rotating smooth and not making any noise. Also keeping the deck clean is important. Sticks and debris build up will often get caught up between the belt and pulleys.
      Also, on your E140, you need to have both of those plastic spindle covers installed. They are also belt guides that keep the belt on the spindle sheaves. Without those covers installed the belt will come off nearly every time you disengage the blades.

      @@Mechanical_Mind .....thank you for the video and the fast reply!I checked yesterday when I had the deck off replacing the belt and 2 spindles was making a minor roaring sound when turned but everything else was smooth, I received this mower with 21 hrs on it after a neighbor passed away and it was usually outside and probably no greasing done under 25 hrs. I keep those covers on and the deck cleaned after every mowing, but it was almost like a pulley had a burr cause the belt looked like it worn from the inside this time badly. But before next season, it is getting the 2 spindles replaced for sure cause that roar sounds like it's coming from underneath the deck.

      I must correct myself before someone does. 🤣 I just realized you have a 140. I was thinking about the E130 deck.. Since yours has the electric pto clutch and there is constant tension on your deck belt, your spindle covers are not belt guides. I still recommend leaving them on.
      Sounds like you found the issue. Thanks for watching

    The twin ideler pulleys went out with only 6 hours of work on them 😮😮 that is not a great thing to have happen to this mower

      I agree. Don't clean the mower deck with water, blow it clean with air. The water is pooling on the idler bearings
