The BMW dealer in Portugal asked for 900 euros to do this job, and they didn't just replace the gaskets, they wanted to change the entire oil filter box.
I just bought the SWAG oil filter box (Febi Bilstein), the oil filter and the 5w30 oil (Wolf LL04) and spent only 120 euros.
Thanks for the videos, they helped me save a lot! You are the best!

I was surprised that the price was cheaper from BMW directly for my oil filter housing gasket, £15 compared to the Elring. However they wanted over £200 for the housing itself. Always worth shopping around. Good job.

I was just about to do that on the weekend! Well done job, mate!
I'm curious, mine is e81 n47 diesel from 118d '09, and I've bought parts 1x 11427802114 and 4x 11428506412 so I was wondering if this is the difference which you've talked about? (older vs new engine). From the diagrams from realoem webpage there's no those two small gaskets that go on the plastic oil assembly. Sadly, I couldn't check it and have a better look since it's so crowded in the engine bay, maybe you have some input for this? Thanks a lot, mate

Nice job on this DYI video. I was shocked at just how cheaply BMW manufactured the N47 engine is! Seriously, a plastic oil filter housing??? Not to mention the ludicrous placement of the damn thing. I mean it's one of the most leak prone gaskets across their whole engine line back with this generation. Let's put it in the absolute most difficult to reach spot. 🙄 At least you can forgive BMW a bit when it comes to the N52 and N54 engines; thanks to them placing the oil filter housing right up front, and the relative ease to do the job.
