    Axons - inside ( center cortex ) - white - mylenated

Bro this is very simple and fun.
*T2 vs Flair* : T2 for 2, Flair is fair. T2 is not a gentleman, he plays two. But Mr. Flair is a gentleman because he plays fair.
Fluid, has only 2 possibilities : whether it's a common physiological fluid (like CSF) or a strange/pathological one (like oedema, pus, or elses).
Now T2 means both types will appear bright. So T2 brights all *2* of them. The normal CSF, and those pathological fluid like oedema, pus, cyst, whatever you say - as long as it has much water (fluid) - will always be bright. All bright!
Well..... Flair - on the other hand - brightens only the "pathological". He is fair enough to differentiate wich one is guilty and which one is not (CSF). This is why oedema will appear bright in flair. Note that periventricular CSF will give a bright appearance also because there is a bit like an oedema-like situation, which then *give the ventricle like a ring enhancement* , which is another easy way to recognize Flair (the ring will even be larger in Hydrocephalus due to periventricular imbibition).
So in short sentence, just remember : T2 brightens the 2 types of fluids.. Flair is fair, only brighten the uncommon.
    T2 brightens the two.
    Flair is fair.
Of course you will find more complex situations to discrete as you study more, but I hope this could help all beginners.
    *T1 Vs CT Scan*
T1 is like the CT Scan, only the gray-white matter are inversed. Anything with fat (lipid) will appear bright in T1, so the subcutaneous fat and axon (made from fosfolipid) will always be bright.
And dont forget the cortex always has to be gray matter, not white matter, despite what you see (bright or dark) in radiology. The Cortex is where the idea of movement comes in the first place, as well as the language area. On the other hand, white matter must always be inside because it is only wires... called axon. Remember "white wire" (rhymes 😅), delivering electricity everywhere without producing anything at all. White wire is inside. Gray Cortex is outside (The letter C, G and O are similar, though). One more, NEVER tell the appreance in radiology as white or black or gray. You should say it in Density (in CT Scan) and intensity (in MRI) to prevent you assuming white matter is white. There is no correlation. In human, white wire is inside. The Great Gray Cortex is Outside.
    Salam dari Medan Banda Aceh.

Sir meri mother ki brain mri hui hai kuch din pehle...(pichle 3 saal se chakkar aa rahe hain)... Us report ki last line hai...
Impression: Few discrete non specific focal T2/FLAIR hyperintensiteis in B/L frontal white matter. No other significant abnormality seen.
Teen golian hai jo subah shaam leni hain... Ek to tezaab waali hi hai.. doctor ne kaha hai dvaai se hi 100% percent theek ho jaayega...
Just for second opinion ke liye pooch raha hoon, theek to ho jaayega medicine se??

Why water in T2 ..around the brain still looks black ?

    • @eyutup
      @eyutup Před 4 dny

The black appearance (more correctly, the hypointensed appearance) surrounding the brain inT2 is not water (by water you mean CSF right?). It is the skull bone. The water (csf) is the bright surrounding all the brain, just inside the skull bone in T2.

Sir what's Limited study Mri? My doc ordered it for my brain. Tho it was upon my request cuz he didn't feel need for one. But now i concerned about the result of limited study MRI. It came out normal tho but I'm wondering since it was limited study could it be wrong? Tho its mentioned ( T1 T 2 and flair , diffusion and swan weighted images were taken in axial plane) so was that enough to rule out any pathology?

A technician can explain as much better than you sir, explain it using simple words and simple techniques like recognizing to a T1 there are 3 points to learn No.1 CSF, FAT, and VENTRICLES are Dark with white matter bright and grey matter dark. In T2 CSF, VENTRICLES, FAT shows bright white matter showed Dark and grey matter bright.
