@@galandirofrivendell4740 Salisbury is my favorite album because imo it is the most diverse of theirs followed by "Demons & Wizards". But in a certain way my favorite song still is the first one on their first album and was the first one I ever heard. It was in 1971 during a school trip to London when I heard "Gipsy" and it immediately blew my mind. Never heard something like that and still unique. But it must be the long album version, of course. It took some time to get to know the title of the song and the name of the band.

The 70s had a lot of great music - I watch a lot of reaction videos done by people who are hearing the 70s music for the first time and it is never what they were expecting.

I was into Heep starting with the album Salisbury, followed by Look At Yourself, Demons and Wizards, Magician's Birthday and then this one, which I liked but less than the earlier ones. Kinda lost track of them after that. Got to see them once on the D&W tour and they killed it. Byron was exactly as you guessed, Lee - all over the stage, dripping with charisma and just a killer voice. Box was really good but I have more memories on Ken Hensley on keys. Anyway, fun reaction and keep checking them out. Just on the 5 albums I know you've got a wealth of goodies to look forward to.

OMG! I was thinking yesterday of requesting this song!!
Back in the day, when this was current, as well asYes, Tull, etc, all was just labeled ROCK. There was just rock n roll. There was prog, southern, hard… but it was just rock. 😎☮️❤️

Easy Livin’ is their best-known song.
The word is used way too much, but Gary Thain is underrated as fuck. The whole band is, honestly. I think they’re the band Deep Purple wanted to be.
Other Uriah Heep songs you should check out are High Priestess, Lady In Black (Ken Hensley vocals), or Bird Of Prey.

Ya wanna hear some deadly-serious bass? Search CZcams for "Uriah Heep - Why."
It's not typical of Heep. If not for Byron's voice, you wouldn't know it was them. It's a heavily bass & drum-driven song, with the organ and guitar taking a back seat, for the most part. The song starts mellow and gradually builds steam - A LOT of steam. GREAT song! It's a very deep cut. It was meant for the Demons & Wizards album, but didn't make it.
    I HIGHLY recommend THIS version:

I quit listening to any post David Byron albums. After David was no longer with Uriah Heep, it was over for me. I still listen to Uriah Heep at times, but only the original UH albums. It's nothing personal with David's predecessors, the magic was gone. One of the worst mistakes in rock and roll was to lose David and of course the tragic end of Gary Thain, another heart-breaker.

Someone's got to do Rock and Roll Part 1 & 2 by Gary Glitter (hopefully it's you) IMHO the most iconic rock song of all time, it's from 1971 and proof that total creeps can make great music.
