  • Are you tired of constantly buying new ink cartridges for your printer? Refilling them can be a cost-effective solution, but it can also be a headache. The sponges inside the cartridges can fatigue quickly, making it difficult to get the best value for your money. But what if I told you there's a way to overcome this problem? That's right, folks, you can use a sponge refillable cartridge kit from BCH!
    In this video, we'll be showing you a step-by-step guide on how to refill your HP 67 cartridge with BCH's sponge refill kit. We'll guide you through the process of opening the cartridge, replacing the sponges, and refilling it with BCH's dye ink. You'll also learn how to avoid sponge fatigue and save money on ink. So sit back, relax, and join us as we show you how to give your printer cartridge a new lease on life.
    To make HP 67 cartridges refillable, you will need to make sure you have the correct kind. Our first and second videos (link below) showed how to pick the right cartridge. This video addresses the problem that the refilled HP 67 OEM cartridges cannot take much ink. We fixed the problem by installing a larger sponge and tested the result.

    Hey Kevin!
    Just wanted to thank you bro! For the very useful and accurate instructions. Specially, this one: "Do NOT give up too early...!"
    I've got a TS3440 PIXMA which has PG-440 & CL-445 cartridges. And I used to refill them with insulin syringes, without no trouble. But, after awhile the black cartridge stop printing even after refilling (I did not used to prime the cartridges at that time nor was aware of its necessity!) So I've end up breaking open the cartridge lid and removing the sponge trying to make an sponge less one, after seeing the near dry and almost white sponge in there. However failed to airproof the lid, everything was fine except for the ink flow to bottom plate. So I had to remove the lid again, though it was very hard this time- I had to sink the cartridge in acetone for several hours, trying to place back the sponge, fixing the gaps & ...
    After all, the most valuable tip of you which I kept in mind was "Do NOT give up too early, show your printer who is the boss!"
    Thank you brother, thank you very much!

      All colour inks in inkjet are dye inks. So, you don't have a choice for colour inks. The pigment vs dye ink only arises in black ink. Original black ink of HP & Canon are pigment whereas Epson mostly has dye ink even for black. You can either choose to use original HP/Canon ink or use dye substitute ink. The original pigment inks are in general better but if you are rarely using your printer causing the ink to dry and clog, the dye inks will be easier to unclog as they simply dissolve in water. Never use unbranded pigment inks as unbranded pigment inks have poor stability and can clog more easily even when the ink does not dry (due to pigments clumping up).

    I was looking for a video to refill my hp 61 tricolor. My cartridge was super dry so I used the toothpick method to find the colors my yellow and magenta was reversed locations. But I didn’t see this video till after I refilled with 4-5ml. My cartridge is leaking from the bottom. I removed some ink but now I’m wondering if I punctured the filtered. What do you think?

    Interesting dilemma with a Grayscale (HP100) cartridge refill. Only two of the three inks are printing, but which two?
    With a tri-colour cartridge it's straightforward - just identify the colour that's missing on the test or alignment pages. But with grayscale, how can you be sure which of the three shades is the one that isn't there?
    I can't find any documentation on either the test (TAP 10) page or the alignment page for the Photosmart D5160. Confusingly, it's the leftmost of the three grayscale nozzle check patterns that's missing on the test page and the rightmost of the three solid grayscale blocks on the alignment page.
    Can anyone point me in the right direction?

    Would it also be possible to drill a hole through the outer shell and the inner shell? That way, liquid ink could be stored outside of the inner shell and flow inwards to the sponge if it gets dry? I would just glue the outer hole shut afterwards... That would save me the trouble of getting the cap off of the cartridge? I´ll investigate further.

    • @julianweiser9985
      @julianweiser9985 Před 6 měsíci

      Update on the experiment: The pressure from liquid ink in the outer shell is too much. It leaks through the printhead. Not worth it.

    Hi again
    I'm interested in your comment that for a sponge cartridge, the cover doesn't need to be airtight, even the tri-colour types.
    That's good news - it means that if the printer decides at a later date that it's not going to recognise the cartridge, you can transfer the kit to another one rather than having to throw it away with the dead cartridge.
    But is there not a risk of cross-contamination of inks between the chambers if they aren't airtight? Although I always store my cartridges the right way up, they move around very quickly when printing. I appreciate that it's not as bad as a spongeless cartridge where the ink is free to slosh around more.

    • @BCHTechnologies
      @BCHTechnologies  Před 3 lety +1

      If you fill it right, the top of the sponge should be dry, so there is no risk of cross containmination

    Hi I can't get a hp 22 cartridge to work. It prints a little and then some of the colour starves and prints blank and then it works again if I leave it to rest. I'm not quiete sure it's air, my guess is the filter is dirty or the ink is too thick. What do you think? I tried everything already. Dissassambled it and all. I'm thinking the dirt is between the filter and the printhead

  • @davereid2246
    @davereid2246 Před 3 lety

    It's interesting that you had a problem with the magenta ink (the chamber that runs across the top of the cartridge), which you diagnosed as the sponge not making good contact with the filter.
    I've had a similar problem while refilling an original tri-colour HP344 (this cartridge has the yellow in the top chamber rather than magenta). I can print a solid page of cyan or magenta without any problem, but solid yellow fades badly halfway down the page when I print in "best" print quality (it's OK in "normal" mode). It's as if the yellow ink flow in "best" mode can't keep up with the printing demand.
    I know from having opened up tri-colour cartridges that, while the three ink chambers have the same CAPACITY in ml, they have different DIMENSIONS: the top chamber (magenta or yellow, depending on the cartridge type) is shorter but fatter than the other two chambers.
    The sponges, on the other hand, are all the SAME shape and size, which means that the one in the top chamber is a tighter fit and harder to push down.
    This seems to me to be a design weakness in HP tri-colour cartridges, and not just a coincidence that we've both had the same problem with the ink in the top chamber. What do you think?

    • @davereid2246
      @davereid2246 Před 3 lety

      Thanks, that's interesting - I'm assuming that you position the small sponge directly on top of the filter, with the main sponge pressed down to make contact with it?
      As it happens, I'm now having the same problem with a cartridge that I opened yesterday, took out the sponges and drained and flushed everything. Now none of the 3 colours will print a whole solid page!
      I'll try the small sponge trick - good job I have lots of ink :-)
