At 7:50, you gave me a total Arnold Schwarzenegger flashback, “wit the filing, and da fitting, and da checking....”
get to da choppa!!!!
Great series! Thanks for putting out these videos!!!
Better and better every episode. This is gonna be a beaut.
Thanks man!
"let's be honest here, putting a little more Texas into it."
As a fellow Texan I love it
Excellant work. Great idea on the bolster markout.
Thank you!
That's a good lookin' knife.....well done.
Thank you
Took me a while to get to this one. I knew you had released it. I had to go to your channel to find it. I'm like a bad weed, ya can't keep me away from your videos lol I'm loving the build and this style of videos. Plus, Bowies are my favorite. Thanks for more amazing content brother
Thanks man!
Mate I really enjoyed this....apart from learning some more knife making points it was a very enjoyable watch! Thanks so much for your work!
Thank you!
The American bowie knife some say was made in Washington Co. Arkansas for Jim bowie the legend has many versions but if you Google it Arkansas is credited for being the birthplace of the bowie knife also called an Arkansas toothpick until it was changed to a double edged knife
Learning something every time.
I've been following your meticulous skills in making this Bowie knife. Awesome is a good word to describe it. New subscriber to your channel.
Thanks for being here!
This thing is coming together nicely! Man the first video of this series really took off like a rocket ship didn't it! I bet that was a nice surprise! What do you think triggered the algorithm? Glad to see it happen for you! Cheers
Thanks man, yeah I'm excited, I think its just the type of content.
Most people call the edge a secondary bevel, not a primary bevel. Primary bevel is the blade grind itself, that's the main bevel from a flat piece of steel. The edge is a bevel on the primary bevel or a secondary bevel. At least that what I've heard from most people.
I've heard it both ways as well. The edge being the primary bevel makes sense to me in relation to how the knife is used.
Great work...btw...there is a knife show coming up in Conroe just north of Hpuston at Southern Star brewery in a couple months...Again gonna be a great looking blade
I wish I could go. That would be an awesome experience
You might try getting what they call an aircraft bit I'm sure you already know of them but they're quite common they are only like 10 or 12 bucks for a 3/16 bit that long I think they're like 8 or 9 inches i actually have 4 of them myself
Yeah I need to!
Good idea this guard-template.... well done
Thank you, I didn't come up with it but it works well
@@FireCreekForge okay saw that with you for the first time. I´ll try that too....
@@hatl29 👍
I made a mental note of that too. Kinda like folding paper in half to cut out a template. Just can't fold brass in half and unfold it lol
Since you used a 3/8 drill bit and the I’m assuming the knife is 3/16 thick you could use a 3/8” dowel split and sanded a total of 3/16” from the center and stack it on the side of the blade with epoxy and then press fit it into the handle.
Nyc job buddy... some day pls make a bowie with feather pattern or mosiac ..would love to see that...👍👍
Thanks, that is something I plan to do!
I vote feather lol
I stress when you use the disc grinder. That gap is dangerous
Mantap
just subbed from this series. Love the knife a lot. Any suggestions for a young blade smith?
Thanks for being here! Learn all you can from CZcams, books, other smiths in person, then go out and do it!! Start with whatever you can, don't need much to start.
No disrespect I would prefer to watch a 3-hour video than watching part 1 /part 2/ part 3
Im a dialysis patient love your work but can't wait like this
They are all up, should be links in the description, thanks for watching!
So how is the guard attached to the blade? I like to make big Bowies & I silver solder mine on................
Wow awesome job your doing on this knife! Have you been on forged and fire show? If not you might wont to think about entering. You make a good contested...
Thank you! Yes i was on FIF Season 6 Episode 8
@@FireCreekForge cool hope you had a good time. 👍👍👍👍👍
Symmetrical
You are definitely an artist my friend! That Bowie is going to be an awesome piece. What are your plans for it? Sell? Keep? Donate to me? hint hint.
I was going to ask, How is my knife build coming along? no rush just asking.
Stay safe my friend, I'm liking your new style of videos, I hope you're getting some good feedback.
Thanks Steve! Haha, yep i will have it up for sale
Yes, this style of video is working out well so far. I have your knife about half done, hopefully finished next week.
Hello 👋
Will u sell that blade...? How much..!
Yes it will be for sale, not sure on the price yet
Hello, can I draw a blade?
Omg you re so speaking
نمیدونم هرچی سازنده هست نمیفروشی من میخوام
Drop the narration, you explain way way to much, most of talking is just your opinions.
